There are many more factors than this, mostly having to do with gov and membership. But the naming. the theme and the design of an alliance do sometimes ruin it.

Imagine thinking you have the clout to tell other alliances how to run when you were kicked from yours for being a sperg

But I do. And what's a "sperg". American English pls. ?

Haha, bloody Yank!

#9 Listen to the advice of people who have experience in the game and incorporate both your and their ideas into a hybrid that is unique and passionate community. Instead of just down-voting those you disagree with

#10 Have a core group of mates that you can control a path for the alliance, instead of being a mishmash of randoms who you've only just met. Communication is key.

2. Wack themes--Random names or names already used by a previous alliances is just stale and in bad taste. Especially, names that have the words "united, union, republic, states, coalition, Knights, federation etc.)

Knights

Knights

Knights

These are ridiculous, let me enlighten you on the SRD mode of alliance leadership.

1. Play this game and others like it for years.

2. Start an alliance of only active older players that have also been playing for years.

3. Make sure they all know what they are doing.

4. Make allies with other active alliances.

4. Sit back and relax you are done. Your alliance will now run itself.

We have seized the means of production. Though union, and self-governance, we have organized between all peoples of the land.

This should be a game - just add one word and you have a new micro name.

Don't rebrand your alliance or everyone will treat you like shit for the rest of your life.

13. If someone threatens you, run the numbers and throw the first punch. Micros get away with a lot and because they aren't expected to survive will be forgotten quickly by the people that matter. Hell even the people you end up fighting.

Damn. Is this why Cumalot rolls anyone who shit talks them? Well, anyone who is easy to roll, and if daddy BK can protect them while they are doing it.

Some of these are pretty amusing, especially from a few certain folk sharing their input.

You beat me to it Hippo.

1. Get a handful of people who have similar styles of gameplay/goals in the game who are also active. Start a group and have realistic expectations of growth. If the core groups activity fades, or interest drops too low, merge into another alliance and try to get yourself some sort of gov position in that established alliance you merged into. After that work your way up to a major leadership figure in the alliance, once that start to shape the alliance into what you wanted your original alliance to be and turn this new alliance into the one you actually wanted. You might lose some members when this happens, but you'll be better off than your original failing alliance was. You can also then merge again and repeat this process til you're at a size/place you like. After that don't rest upon your laurels, else some other upcoming leader might undermine your authority like you did to the previous leaders.

2. Or just do what makes you happy, and if people follow you for it great. All that matters is you're having fun doing what you're doing.
