Administrators Popular Post Alex Posted May 12, 2019 Administrators Popular Post Share Posted May 12, 2019 This idea is effectively just a quality of life improvement. I think the idea of a Color Trade Bloc preventing your nation from being declared on is unintuitive. This proposal is simply to remove the color Beige from the game, and instead add a new separate mechanic for nations to simply be "Protected." It would work exactly the same as Beige (no one can declare war on you, you would lose it if you declared an offensive war, new nations would be marked as "Protected" for 14 days, nations losing a war would get time under "Protected" status.) Benefits to this change would be: More intuitive / easier learning curve for new players New nations can participate in Color Trade Blocs without losing protection Less newbies will accidentally open themselves up to raiding early on Protected status could come with it's own income bonus similar to the existing Color Trade Bloc bonus for Beige. Again, the idea isn't to actually change how the game is played at all, just simplify things and help newbies help themselves. 14 1 Quote Is there a bug? Report It | Not understanding game mechanics? Guest Elijah Mikaelson
@Alex Some ideas i hope you will think about, Please do not give those in protection added colour bonus like you have done with beige, I can understand with beige why you did that however with what you have just said, with them entering protection bubble if you will, then they will be able to join any colour they want and enjoy that colour bonus, Also I think its time to stop putting people on to grey unless they are inactive, If someone lose a war they should not be kicked off the colour they are on, Grey should simply be for the inactive and therefore if someone is inactive for X number of days they automatically get moved to grey, it would also force huge alliances who keep nations around as a tax farm when the owner has quit already. MinesomeMC
Dont get rid of beige, just make beige a regular color bloc we can choose.

Zaxon
No Why do new players need so much pampering and babying does every update have to be about making things "easier" for new players? New players got it easy enough with the increased daily bonuses the ability to buy 10 cities on day 1 now you want to give them more jeezeuz !! Enough with the "making things easier for new players" let them tough it out like the rest of us had to it builds character.

That's a really awful design strategy for a game developer to pursue Make things as hard as possible to drive away as many new players as possible? 9 hours ago, Boofy said: Yeahhh because seeing the color beige is so hard... Seeing the color isn't hard, it's just unintuitive. A new player isn't going to quickly realize that beige = protection, whereas "protected status" very intuitively suggests that you're protected. 2 1 Quote Is there a bug? But it also states how many turns you have left in Beige, inferring that it is important. A Warning when declaring war/changing block colours while in Beige should surely be sufficient. Alongside this, the name for the block is "The Beige Protection Block." If that doesn't scream protection I don't know what does.

For all they know, it's just a typo. 1 Quote Inhabitor of Forum Games & Spam. I live there. It's my home.

Trust, I guess it does take some time to learn about the game's mechanics.

The general idea is that we want to make coming into this game as smooth a transition as possible. Adding more confusing mechanics is not going to help this. @Alex, you have my go-ahead. 2 Quote Inhabitor of Forum Games & Spam. I live there. It's my home.
