Advisory Warning

When executing a Sabotage Nuclear Weapons operation, note that you will be unable to destroy Nuclear Weapons created within 12 turns (24 hours) of the last 12AM (midnight) server update. This is to prevent Nuclear Weapons from immediately being sabotaged after creation.

Why is this a thing, and why can’t we get rid of this. If it gets spied away, it gets spied away.

Cost of nukes is too high to lose it instantly? I guess it gives you a chance to use it before saying frick it, go ahead and destroy it?

IIRC people were spying away nukes using a notification bot in the ~1 minute before someone built and launched one.

If the goal was to prevent this, then the cool-down period should have been one hour, calculated on basis of actual time elapsed.

Given the cost to build a single nuke vs the cost of spies, and that nukes aren't really useful unless in a losing position, at which point you'll likely have no spies to protect them if your opponent is even 25% competent, reverting this change seems kind of counter-intuitive.

At that point you might as well remove nukes. They will never be a worthwhile investment.
