The Mandate of Humanity

Early in the morning, on the sixth, local villages and towns within and near Siam/Thailand had old transport trucks roll onto their streets, full of soldiers, or what was considered soldiers. At first, they were rough, wearing old and generic military uniforms, most using old rifles from a war long gun, with diesel trucks from a time before. They were rough as they preached of their so called "Empress" taking rule of the land. The speeches of these soldiers stretched from Siam, to Malaya, Bangladesh, and even to the edge of Mog[Corp] territory.

"It is time, the Mandate of Humanity, Confucianism will lead our Empire, the Tanakosin Empire!" the leader of the soldiers shouted as they sifted through the villages and towns. In the grand scheme of the world, and local governments being too corrupted, greedy, or uncaring of the state of living, had left most areas become rundown and uncivilized. A few, however, stood up in the dark, like Singapore. Those that were still running, were used as headquarters for the military, while Bangkok became the Empires headquarters, "our Empress will lead you to a new and better world!"

The Tanakosin Empire, being lead by its new Empress, was pressuring the people all over in her realm of Asia, with her soldiers, who preached religion and unity. They were rough, as they forced the locals into labor. Truthfully, they was cheap labor made into gathering natural resources, like the extreme abundance of oil, rare metals, and other items, but they were immediately put towards the labor used in the local villages and towns to bring them into a civil period; sewage was being constructed, infrastructure, dirt and muddied roads were being slowly transformed into asphalt, electricity was being made the norm, powerlines were being erected. Harsh treatment was made of the locals, even though there was a plan to slow down, but neither outsiders nor the populace knew of the "great plan." It was essentially slave labor, but nothing, not even currency, was being taken to Bangkok, or the other major cities. Everything was being sent to improve rundown villages and poor and crude towns.

At this time, a Siamese local, well dressed in the best suit they had, although old and torn, was driving with a similar truck that the other soldiers were using around the continent, heading to the border with Mog[Corp]. It was a full truck of soldiers, armed with old rifles. Their plan was to not fire at the Mog[Corp] soldiers in Guangzhouwan, as they didn't stand up and aim their rifles. As they approached the border checkpoint, the truck began to slow down, and the man dressed in a suit reached out of the passenger side of the truck and waved at the checkpoint guards. The Empress knew Mog[Corp] was the closest threat to them, and they were highly militarized, but they were also a company. She wanted first contact to be with Mog[Corp], hoping to make deals for her new empire.

The borders began to buzz with surveillance to carefully observe the movements of the populations close to the border, presuming a feint or other hypothetical trojan horse scenario. The truck having been spotted by drone in advance enough there was already information flowing back down with their next steps. Mechanical chittering would be heard between the platoon of heavily armored guards as the truck approached, upon no incident, one of them eventually switching to a metallic "Welcome to MoG[Corp]. Weapons are not authorized to tourists currently, so leaving them with your escort here would be wise. We have accommodations for them to stay as long as your time in our territory as an emissary. Your ride will be here shortly."

A set of 3 black armored SUVs as well as two heavier escort vehicles sped towards the border crossing, appearing no more than perhaps two minutes later to pick up the guest to be brought to the closest train station and into rapidly changing Hong Kong skyline, cranes dragging everything closer to the sky. In a rather unimpressive for corporate standards building once held by some sort of financial corporation is where they'd eventually end up. A plain looking woman in a much more impressive business suit named Qian Jie  would serve as the negotiator for the conversation with the new neighbor.

"From our understanding you have shown ambition in changing your immediate surroundings, what can we do to assist?"

The representative agreed, however the 'escort' which accompanied him stayed behind, beyond the checkpoint. Mog[Corp] was perceived as a 'civilized' place, so while the new Empire was busy trying to unite the area and install law, the escort was only needed there, meaning the representative did not need them beyond their borders.

He was of no threat, if anything, not a threat to anyone. He wore an old suit, and carried a briefcase of any documents he needed. He eagerly took the transport to the individual he would be speaking to, looking to do his leader justice.

"Hello!" he said with an accent, "yes, I am Chakrit Yamnam, pleased to meet you!" He reached out his hand, thinking of a proper gesture. "We are wanting to make our land more civil, more livable, more uhm working! We want to improve our industry and roads. Most places have industry, but are run down or abandoned. We still have many villages with no civilization, and towns that are little more than slums. We have the resources on our land to do everything we want and more, but we can't make proper jobs without proper structure or housing. You see our dilemma, no? We do make slave labor to increase the speed of improving speed of construction, but it is not what we want for all time! Very temporary. Can Mog Corp assist the Empress? We wish to hire your services. You are a company, yes? What services do you offer? Oh, also, secondly, you are a major power in the world, and our neighbor. We want formal relations, good relations, with you, please!" He seemed a little nervous, only because he was given a very important mission and did not want to have failure. He wasn't under any threat, but he was someone who took his job a little too seriously.

"We do a little bit of everything, after a certain amount of time you can do very spectacular things when you set your greatest minds to it. We have methods of maximizing your land usage for population growth and can provide you with the backing to establish a currency to eliminate the need for slave labor, or at least provide the perspective of that. Defensive equipment is a speciality of ours but we would require those are provided with advisors to ensure the appropriate usage of course, at least for the near term."

The man nodded his head, eager to bite at the opportunity for what the lady from Mog[Corp] was offering, "yes, we need help with underground construction. We need proper sewage and water flow to all cities. Can you help with electricity? The Empress doesn't like nuclear power, but we have the resources to make them! I could convince the Empress to use our uranium for good! We could also use proper automobile industry, and production. But... no... weapons and armaments are not good, the Empress requires we develop our own weapons. She says it is not good to rely on outsiders for security. We do not want slave labor, so hopefully our Empire and your corporation can become friends and do business together!"

Nodding slightly she merely continued on with the conversation, "We much prefer Thorium reactors over the traditional 2nd and 3rd generation designs which had several flaws that could have led to unfortunate circumstances. We can provide construction assistance along with no interest loans to to be backed by natural resources. Is there particular architectural styles for urbanization that your empress would be interested in? We have no issues providing the help to ensure your people are capable of the same pursuits as those of any other country."

The gentleman chewed softly at his lower lip as he thought for a moment, "I... I do not know if we can give you our resources. That would be up to the Empress, as while we are trying to build an economy, our resources are currently our true wealth, and some I know I do not have the ability to negotiate with, like uranium! But, um, what do you mean 'architectural style?' You mean like western, eastern? European, Asian? It's not so much required, we do not need to convert technologies of another country to suit aesthetic or structural needs of our own. I can say with confidence that we would like to request assistance in constructing sewage, water lines, and electricity lines. We can participate in lots of that construction! But then for nuclear power plants, we need mostly your assistance, as our people have no knowledge of such technology."

"There would need to be some form of backing for long term financial investment contracts I'm obligated to coordinate. Natural resources tend to be the easiest to translate into returns on investments but perhaps a different agreement could be made. Such discussion would be above my paygrade, and as you said it was above yours perhaps a rescheduling would be best. Our CEO will meet your Empress in a few days, once you're able to get back and discuss this with of course. We can provide for methods of direct communication if needed, otherwise I am hopeful we can reach a resolution soon, and we will bring you back to the border whenever you are ready to leave."

Chakrit gave a few deep nods as the response was proper, seeing as how the discussion got to a point to where neither could really negotiate, an official meeting and negotiation between their leaders seemed the best course of action. "She may be very, uhm, choosy! But the Empress, while knowing her position, has been very welcoming to even homeless and peasants, as much as her nobles. I do not think that being an outsider will change her mind as long as she likes the conversation! Ah, and yes, the kind of communication, like the... cellphone, yes? We do have it, but it is expensive to run, and not everyone can use them. The Empress can, but I can not! I thank you very much for your time. If it is best for you to get prepared to speak to your leader, it would be likewise for me to be prepared as soon as possible, and will take my leave." He smiled, adjusting his glasses, "thank you for this opportunity to meet with Mog Corp. Please do not feel threatened by our military, as the Empress has never ordered executions or assaults, they are more like the... People's Army."
