Small description: Your nation has begun equipping its artillery and tanks with depleted uranium rounds, increasing the armor penetration value of its warheads.


Project effect: +5% ground battle strength,  1 Uranium used per 20000 soldiers, 1 Uranium used per 500 tanks, +5% missile damage, Missile cost increased to +5 Uranium


Resource cost: 750 steel, 750 aluminum, 250 Uranium


Cash cost: 5,000,000


 


Comments: Its a modest benefit, not a "must have" but a "nice to have".  Provides increased demand for Uranium outside of Nukes.

National project name: Cu Chi Tunnel System

Small description: By building a series of underground supply lines, we can maximize our war-time efficiency.

Project effect: Soldier upkeep cost no longer raises while at war; casualties taken in battles reduced by 10%.

Resource cost: 40,000 food

Cash cost: $2,500,000

Small description: By promoting a national ideology of expansion, we can increase the size of our nation much more easily.

Project effect: Land cost reduced by 10%. Land contributes to citizen count in cities at a 1:1 rate.

Resource cost: 500 oil, 500 steel, 500 gasoline, 10,000 food

Cash cost: $2,000,000

Note: Run the numbers and make sure that this wouldn't break land with the citizen count thing.

 

National project name: Welfare Program

Small description: Through providing cash stipends to the old, sick, and unemployed, we can improve our overall quality of life.

Project effect: Citizen income increases by 20 cents.

Resource cost: 1,000 oil, 500 gasoline

Cash cost: $5,000,000

Note: IIRC you might already have something like this, and if so, good job on a decent idea. :v

Small description: Your nation has decided to house all your "big thinkers" in one place

Project effect: All national project cost 5% less to build

Resource cost: 1000 steel, 1500 aluminum,  150 Uranium, 150 gasoline

Cash cost: 5,000,000

 

 

to be used as a med-stage nation project to help smaller nations get to the top a little quicker. it can then be used with your government type Noocracy, to give you a total of 10% cost reduction.

Small description: More insight in the industry, reducing backdoor business and general corruption

Project effect: Reduces building operational costs by 10%

Project effect: The cdc reduces the disease rate in all cities by 3%

Resource cost: 500 iron, 500 steel, 500 aluminum

Cash cost: 50 million

Small description: The Settlement Bureau ensures that available land is used to its fullest.

Project effect: For the purposes of population growth, your population density is considered to be decreased by 25%. Land increases commerce at a rate of acres/200 percent.

Small description: The final frontier shall be ours for the taking

Project effect: Unlocks space race/Satellites

Resource cost: 500 steel, 2000 aluminum, 1000 gas

Cash cost: $150 million

 

National project name: Moon Colony[unlocked via SP]

Small description: Lets setup a colony on the Moon!

Project effect: Does whatever a moon colony does(maybe a "special" city that cannot be attacked/built up but provides a small amount of citizens and income?)

Resource cost: 250 steel, 1500 aluminum, 1000 gas

Cash cost: $150 million

 

National project name: Mars Colony[unlocked via SP]

Small description: Colonies on the Moon are great but you know what's better? Colonies on Mars!

Project effect: Does whatever a Moon colony does but is way cooler (see above?)

Resource cost: 1500 steel, 750 aluminum, 3000 gas

Cash cost: $250 million

 

National project name:Assist the Global Positioning System[unlocked via SP]

Small description: Nation launches their own satellite to assist with the GPS.

Project effect:Global Citizen income increases by .001% per satellite added(all nations)(Global boost of .01% soldier efficiency to all nations who assist with the GPS?)

Resource cost: 50 steel, 200 aluminum, 350 gas

Cash cost: $35 million

I lke this idea, especially the ability to create untouched cities.  However, maybe, if others have moon or mars colonies, then those colonies could be touched through an invasion.

Small description: Protects your nations infra from missile and nuclear strikes

Project effect: limits infra damage from missiles by 30% and limits infra damage caused by nukes by 20%

Resource cost: 20k iron, 25k steel, 10k gasoline and 15k aluminum

I lke this idea, especially the ability to create untouched cities.  However, maybe, if others have moon or mars colonies, then those colonies could be touched through an invasion. 

It seems way too "sci-fi" for a game about contemporary nation-building (or late 1980's if you take the in-game date as 'canon'), there's no way humans will have fully-fledged colonies on other planets for a very long time.

In regards to colonies, that's something I recall that (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) added late in the game as a result of top tier nations essentially having no way really left to grow.  I wouldn't mind seeing a similar option here, but no time soon.  Maybe revisit the idea in a year.

What about colonies/foreign investments on different continents? So a European country could buy a Uranium mine in Africa or an Oil Well in the Middle-East.

Small description: Automobile transportation infrastructure connecting major cities.

Project effect: Increases maximum commerce limit in each city by 1% for every 100 infrastructure in that city.

I have no idea if that cost is balanced, I tried to compare it to the International Trade Center and made a few adjustments. I added the daily gasoline upkeep because it makes some sense and I'd like to see more civilian uses/effects of gasoline.

Small description: The NHO controls diseases in your nation. 

Project effect: Decreases diseases by 2.5% in all cities and an additional 1% per hospital across all cities.

Hey, if a nation wants to spend the money, resources, and time on a project, there's no reason they should be bound by the in-game date. I think it's a great idea, and one that should be implemented sooner rather than later.

Hey, if a nation wants to spend the money, resources, and time on a project, there's no reason they should be bound by <snip> date.

 

This is equally true of 1980s IRL. With enough focus, it could have been done, people just didn't consider it worth it.

Well, putting a man on the moon is a whole lot different than having a manned colony on the moon or another planet. I just meant that putting a Satellite into space which which allows for more accurate missiles and less expensive missiles (and maybe benefits in other areas such as Spying on nations) would be more appropriate to colonies.

 

Anyway I have a suggestion of my own to add:

 

National project name: Central Reserve Bank

Small description: Central Reserve Bank is a national project that manages a your nation's currency, money supply and interest rates for greater commerce in your cities.

Project effect: Allows your maximum commerce rate in cities to reach 115% (or 130% if stacked with the International Trade Center).

Resource cost:

aluminum.png2,500
steel.png2,500
gasoline.png5,000

Cash cost:

money.png$45,000,000

 

(same as International Trade Center)

 

Note: To have this implemented it will be necessary to increase the improvement limit of Supermarkets from 5 to 6 per city so you actually have enough improvements to boost your commerce rate that high.

here are two differents national project i have though of.

 

National project name: Empire State Building

Small description: The "empire state building" popularize skyscrappers and encourage public societies to build skyscrappers.

Project effect: increasing the ratio of habitant/infrastructure from 100 to 125.

Resource cost:

aluminum.png2,500

gasoline.png2,500

Cash cost:

money.png$45,000,000

 

NB: it's a double edge project as it would increase food consumption and population density, but it's counter balanced by the profit made by the economy

 

National project name: solar pannels societies

Small description: by investing in solar pannels citizen could produce energy for themselves.

Project effect: generate 20% energy for free in each city. (or generate infrastructure / 5 unit of energy)

Resource cost:

steel.png2,500
gasoline.png2,500

Cash cost:

money.png$45,000,000

 

NB: could be helpfull to reduce the ressources used for power generation.
