The colonization was the average level of success, with 80%+ accepting the conditioning provided. Rather than  initiating conflict, this round would be about coming together as a species, so long as they were intelligent enough to accept the simple question that was always asked. This time there was no attempt at accepting foreign integration of beyond GEO orbits, Corporate mobile suits began to patrol the Earth Sphere and investigate the beyond. External threats were determined to be the priority and so long as the planet remained demilitarized, all would be well. That was not an expected outcome as these scenarios have been ran again and again and rampant militarization to the point of cataclysm, but insanity was always the best option. Satellites began littering the sky and observing the planet below, it was only a matter of time until something interesting happened, right?

Development of various mobile weapons systems continued, with aggressive testing of designs against one another in both simulated and even the occasional live fire scenarios, though the cost of pilots meant they were actually kept in simulators aboard Musai Class Light Carriers. This allowed the overall expenses of testing to be kept to as minimum as possible and rapid development of the technologies that made the mobile suits so interesting. Smaller and smaller nuclear reactors with increasing levels of power, beam and laser weaponry along with defenses against the same. There was also the traditional enhancements to squad operations, such as specialized suits for the roles that may be required, such as EWACS, long range assault, or close combat. Evolution worked its magic.

Further expansion beyond the asteroid belt would begin with exploration and cataloging of all objects and their current orbits would take priority. Looking outwards to begin to protect the entire solar system from external threats was considered critical and a network of satellites would be designed to provide a 360° coverage of lens, and with computer assistance it was hoped that the company would be able to be aware of any NEOs, as well as lucrative targets that may be useful in the future.

Again the CEO's interests planet side waned as there was no current obvious strategic competitors, quite the opposite in fact as global peace had been established for the most part, several new variables changed the board but improvements of the orbital defense network to observe everything possible, tracking every objective and simulating its trajectories. While no extraterrestrial life had established itself on this version of Orbis it was important to be aware of any objects that change directions or ended up where they should not. Constant improvements to the various defense systems already in place continued as always, with several lunar bases being established to act as test beds for laser based propulsion systems, directing energy towards a ship to bring it to a reasonable percentage of the speed of light. It would be a step to explore their immediate surroundings and establish whether this was another universe where every planet we reach is dead or not.

With other nations beginning to reach for the stars it was important to stay beyond reproach. Reaching out to several other nations to reach into the sky above alongside the corporation was the current priority. Testing of the weapons with live pilots began and the losses added up. Replacements were chosen from those who were spaceborn. Those who learned to crawl and walk in space had significantly different perceptions of combat zones, automatically thinking in 3D and zero G, unlikely their planet born counterparts. It was critical that the machines were capable of standing against opposing ships and weaponry, with several competitors joining them it made sense to cost themselves a bit now to ensure dominance later.

One had finally risen to the challenge in their own cowardly way, hiding behind fictional rules designed to make anyone immune that desired such power. and the corporation's tendrils in the aether began to flow inwards, carrying with them incomprehensible resources, the African Space Elevator became the company's primary naval production site, the rare metals from above allowing lighter and stronger vessels to be thrown out into the sea to further strangle the global routes under the company's banner. Observation and intelligence gathering became a heavy focus to ensure that if their opponent ever decided they had enough toys they barely understood how to use to be confident to attempt another Suez incident it would end just the same.

Reinforcement of The Cape to afford enough of a resistance force to destroy any fools naive enough to invade the endless cityscape would also be prioritized, it was easy enough since the opposing forces had no submarines and refused to do more than provoke.

All roads led to Rapture, and this world was no different, endless resources would be forced out of the solar system, critical now more than ever to ensure success of the plan. Allies had ensured there would be no victory for their opponent, only disappointment and regret. Rapid construction of the third space elevator would begin once more, while delayed due to the fellow corporation's disappearance it would not mean any major delay. It was interesting to see the board changing but the overall layout getting even more advantageous as the years passed. Limitless resources tended to provide an advantage, what a strange planet that none of the powers choose to cooperate rather than attempting to extract a hollow victory from a corporation who exports war.

The third spire continued to reach from the planet up to the heavens, a flurry of activity that could be seen from space, fleets of container ships not unlike that which kept England afloat in WW2 continued out of every port under corporate control and any who sought to reap the benefits of their economic plan for the planet.

Industry was developed globally, antimatter backing the global financial markets to allow exponential growth, food and basic needs like housing and power no longer concerned surging numbers of the global population. More and more the world would change to suit the company's needs, resources flowing inwards to create an impressive defensive line for the space fleets.

Dots of metal and light began to fill the skies, an ever expanding ring of satellites and stations looking outwards to scan for the threats that lay beyond. The petty politics of the planet meaningless compared to the enemies that inhabit other worlds, finally the company was able to focus on the real opponent once more.

Space debris became a problem as Colonization continued, and ships were eventually designed to clean out the local zone of dangerous flakes of metal, microdebris causing havoc on some designs, and annoyance to shielding on larger vessels.

It was no longer a problem to devote the planets full resources towards their global defenses, and the population exploded in the Lagrangian points around Earth and Mars, with their respective moons becoming hubs for transit.

The gas giants were established as outposts but there was no real desire for permanent residence, extraction of resources from anything but their moons was too bothersome currently, far easier to use tourism to fund the bases upon the moons expansion to get the real prizes of the outer system.

Altering the concept of radar was not complex, the fundamental flaw being the range. Beyond the horizon is ideal, but simply throwing the pinger into near space was a lot cheaper overall, combined with 4th gen nuclear reactors it was no issue to simply observe.

Terra was minor in the overall plan but it was important to be aware of when the rest decided to abort this reality and create another. The game was the only objective, it just was unfortunate that most of the players didn't grasp the rules that would favor all of them. It was easy to get lost in the concept of being the leader, and difficult for most to allow for a radically different board that allowed anyone to lose so long as those involved in the great game were willing to play.

With the full planet under corporate control, a mass project began in Australia to terraform the vast desert into a replication of the Mediterranean, a fairly simple task though time-consuming. It was just a matter of moving dirt for prolonged periods of time and making people motivated to do so for long enough. The removal of the outback would create a property boom and dramatically change the environment to allow better agriculture and change weather patterns due to much more water.

It was simply a pet project due to unlimited resources but would make for some amusement to watch the wealthy congregation upon the shifted terrain!

The development of the various sides in lunar orbit was such a draw on the economy there was plenty of demand for everything that required  real gravity to create properly, livestock chief among those since the price of land in a colony had meant there was only a few odd ducks among the wealthy who dedicated entire colonies to the production of foods.

There was a much higher priority on industry since the reality was naval capacity was the only critical concern of those in space, arming and equipping those vessels of more importance than cows and pigs. The deluge of metals and building blocks allowed for defensive locations in encircling orbit forever as their reach expanded to the outer rim. Pluto and the other beyond Neptune objects had always been the real goal, once they could get a lens or several dozen out at this range the real defense strategies could begin and ensure there is no threats that would be able to sustain an attack upon Orbis without the forewarning to totally annihilate the attempt.

Things were not as they appeared in the outermost reaches, there were external forces but only detectable by what amounted to a reader of sorts. Iddinadar as it was nicknamed, used observation of the very spacetime fabric to determine whether or not there was something amiss.

The vessels were only detected when they slowed down to below lightspeed, and by all evidence they were examining the company's progress.

The natural reaction was less traditional than one would guess, instead focusing heavily on building shipyards within the Lunar and Martian surface, becoming warehouses for stores of additional smaller naval vessels, while capital ship production began in earnest within the swirling waters beneath the surface of Ganymede,

The oddest part of the plan was that the mass immigration of humans to the Moon along with the resources meant that even if the xenos had the ability to penetrate deep within corporate space, there would be nothing unusual about the population living under the ice as an expansion strategy that was not hostile or otherwise seen as a threat.

The technology was not perfect but it would be continually refined until it was capable of detecting the boats in transit, at which point targeting could be considered.
