With the metaboard refusing to give back the traditional Japanese islands, one of the ballistic missile subs would be moved to a few hundred yards away from the shallow depths of the coast, where it's launch bays would open. As this vessel did so, 2 Trident-II nuclear warheads would sail at exceptional speeds towards the capital. The warheads would be too close for the early warning system to effectively engage, as the MRIV warheads would reach a few miles above the city in question, fall to 13 individual warheads each, and rain down towards the city below.

As the capital itself burned in a nuclear fire, wiping out the life and bringing even the tallest building crashing down, Japanese forces would surge over to Chugoku, Shikoku, and the Okinawa island chain. Strike Group 2 and 3 would move South and jam the islands communication, while F-22s were launched from the southern airstrip to watch over the vessels. The 11,000 Infantry and 3 armored divisions poured onto the islands, disarming the population and securing key zones. The baffled local populace merely accepted the takeover, with nearly 47 Metaboard officials being arrested and shipped over to the capital of Kyoto for trial. Though some sparse fighting occurred and 24 men does with 37 wounded, the islands themselves were under the Japanese Regime once more.

Meanwhile, a group of nearly 14 intelligence teams were dispatched to capture and return over 40 to officials of the Metaboard and 153 lesser officials. This was to accomplish two things; get justice for the illegal seizure of the Japanese territory, and ensure the local population of the Metaboard homeland was more compliant with the Japanese force whose goal was to de-arm the Metaboard.

As the forces subdued the islands to the South of Japan, martial law was declared, and ballistic defenses would be imported into the city,  while the ground forces would entrench themselves with quickly flown in and constructed fortifications. 12 R-20 fighters would be recovered by the Japanese Military, where it would be shipped to the main research facility for the new generation of aircraft. Each area would have a standard military base built, while Okinawa would have an airstrip constructed on its island.

Defensive Occupation Force:

1 battalion of soldiers

14 Iron Dome Batteries

150 Barrak-II missile interceptors

1 armored division

40 SM-6 anti-ship cruise missiles

3 S-400 anti-air batteries

1 flock of air squadrons(1 squad consists if 4 F-22s, 8 F-18 electronic warfare growlers, and 25 F-16s. 4 squads in a flock)

Additionally, strike group 2 was diverted to securing the islands of Fiji and St Matthews. St Matthews, with a population of a mere 40 people, would agree to join the nation willingly. The Emporer would order. A standard defensive occupational force.

Fiji would be less reluctant to allowing the Japanese occupation. However, with 2 strike groups sailing into the area around the island, a group of officials would negotiate with Japanese commanders. Fiji would increase its taxes by 2%, in order to fit into the Japanese system. The island would maintain administrative control over themselves, but would agree to host a military port, airstrip, and basic strategic facilities. The island would receive the basic defensive occupation force.

Finally, 2 additional strike groups, 1 with the new French carrier, would sail over to Hmthe Republic of Hawaii, where the republic would refuse to join with the Japanese Empire. Not willing to accept this scenario, Japanese commanders were ordered to capture the island and occupy it for the Japanese government. A series of 22 tomahawk cruise missiles would be launch at point blank range, striking critical airstrip runways to prevent sorties, while the destroyers and subs would launch 13 torpedo at the island nation's 3 destroyers. The rapid assault would see a meager hawaii's navy and air force crippled within 20 minutes. Japanese forces are still withholding the updated details of the sotuation.

Your use of weapons of mass destruction on a civilian population has been noted. Lumia does not wish for a war, but we are warning you that any further gross abuses like the unprovoked nuking of cities will result in a prompt and harsh retaliation.

"We do not recognize your authority in the matter. Your viewpoint of 'unprovoked does not match ours. The Metaboard illegally occupied Japanese territory and refused to return it to the Empire. The result was escalation and a display of strength. Had the global community prevented the illegal occupation initially, the Emporer would not have needed to use such drastic methods. In the end, the international community shares equal blame with the Japanese government."

The use of nuclear weapons should be a last resort. Your annihilation of the Meta Board's capital has killed millions of people, people whose only crime was living in the nation you oppose. We are generally utilitarian, and so believe that nuclear weapons should only be used if their use would reduce the net amount of suffering in this world. We will tolerate your land reclamation in most cases, but we won't tolerate the unnecessary slaughter of innocents.

"Your protests are noted, however it will not restrict the Japanese Regime from acting in its best interests; to secure it's future and it's people. As it stands, the Emporer is satisfied with results of the campaign. You are welcome to file a complaint at the embassy, though it will take some time for the complaint to be arbitrated and addressed by the emporer."

The Japanese forces would begin mobilizing their ground troops to stage the operation to capture Hawaii. The first priority was to utilize strategic air strikes to cripple their communications and any armored forces that could be spotted. This process would take nearly 36 hours, as 124 various out dated tank models would find themselves burning, with 3 military centers, and 2 radio towers. As the Hawaiin forces began trying to patch up their runways, Japanese air power would suppress the attempt and bomb the equipment as they made their attempts. Finally, the invasion would begin with 2 Infantry Batallions, and an armored division.

1,800 Infantry

75 M1A2s

20 MOWAGs

5 Abbots

The overall Hawaii military consisted of 11,000 Infantry, 350 tanks, and 400 assorted aircraft. As of now, the eastern section of the Honululu was secured, as Japanese forces prepared for extended urban conflict. Shortly afterwards, the Republic of Hawaii contacted the Japanese forces and surrendered, attempting to avoid heavy civilian loss of life. In the end, Hawaii surrendered and become a province of the Empire. The two strike groups would maintain a permanent presence on the islands, while the regime out forth a focused effort of repairing airstrip, radio towers and outposts. The remaining tanks would be melted down, while the F-16s and F-15s in the Hawaii air force would be modernized. Finally, the Japanese Regime would begin building OTH radar stations on Fiji, St Matthews and Hawaii, to develop early warning capabilities all across the Pacific. See below.

Meanwhile, a series of 4 car bombings would take place in Chigoku, and would spark a crackdown in law enforcement, as the Japanese Regime would begin beefing up security on the island. Heavy regulations regarding any potential explosives would be put in place, while communications were monitored at loyalty stations to ensure compliance.

"Tango team is in position. Give the word command." A voice called out into the radio.

"You are a go, begin conducting the assigned tasks. See you at home tango." A second voice responded on the device.

Immediately as the voice gave the go ahead, a team of 8 specially trained Japanese soldiers quietly began to sneak into the mansion of a vital government member of the Metaboard. The soldiers would utilize night vision, low frequency comma, and silenced weapons to eliminate the buildings guard detail. After eliminating the perimeter security, they would koveninto the building, sneak into the officials room, and inject the official with a sedative. Afterwards, they would doing the official over their shoulder, put the individual into a civilian van, and drove off towards the coast, a secluded area away from any significant population.

Once there, the official would be handed over to a speed boat task force. He would be handcuffed and packed into the boat with 4 other officials, and the special forces would go back into the city to begin conducting further missions.

This was the 5th night of missions, and the force had successfully captured 42 officials, killed 13 and lost 9. Additionally, more than 30 scientists and engineers had been kidnapoed and carried off to the mainland. Although there were still many officials to capture for the end of operations, the loss of command, lack of organization, and nuking of their capital has scattered the Metaboard and allowed Japan to conduct a non stop series of missions to further degrade their leadership. Japanese officials would organize a talk with a rising political party that advocated appeasing Japan rather than retaliating. Japan would work towards ensuring that they were the only stable party. Once accomplished, Japan would enforce a nationwide demolitarization down to basic technology.

Talks would be organized with what remained of the Metaboard regime, as they sought peace with Japan. Japan would send the Deputy Director of State, Haizo Namura. He would land at the Busan airport, drive to tbe capital building, and mert with is Metaboard counterparts.

"I've come as the Japanese ambassador to these negotiations. How would you like to begin?" The man said, getting straight to business.

"To start, we need you to agree to stop operating your forces on our land. We will forsake our island claims, but operating on Metaboard territory cannot continue." The man would firmly say.

"We can agree to that, but first and foremost you must demilitarized your forces by 80%. You have proven a threat to Japan, and we will not stop unless you agree to that condition." The ambassador retorted.

"The Metaboard didn't attack you. We didn't conduct aggressive military actions, and we didn't threaten you in any capacity. Why should we demilitarize?" The man asked, taken aback.

"You illegally occupied Japanese territory, formed a bloc with the intent for regional domination, and you failed to reconcile when given the chance. Henceforth, you will agree to those terms or we will be at war." The ambassador told him curtly.

"That's something we must discuss as a collective. We will inform you when a response has been made." The man told him, as the ambassador stood up and left.

"How did it go?" Came a voice in the ambassador's ear.

"They need more persuasion. Perhaps we should increase the pressure?" The ambassador casually replies.

The fleets deployed to Fiji and St Matthews island, would be recalled. The e homeland strike groups would begin taking positions, where they would begin blockading the port. Finally, another 63 special operations missions would be approved to capture or kill 81 additional targets. The priority was to further degrade their leadership and morale, and force a peaceful resolution.

With increased troop presence from multiple nation's in and around the north pole, an additional deployment of 15,000 Infantry, 800 Tomahawk missiles, 14 Iron domes, 350 barak-8, 8 minuteman III, 8 S-400s, and 2 Shibuya class BMS armed with 4 trident II from strike group 4.

The Japanese navy would begin establishing a blockade around the Metaboard nation, turning away all merchant and military vessels. Frequent scheduled patrols of escort would fly over the strike groups that encircled the nation.

Finally, several news outlets around the world had begun covering the story of the mass disappearances of Metaboard officials and specialists. Japanese officials strongly denied any involvement, and suggested the nation look towards it's own, criminal, elements.

..:Classified Testing Facility:..

The new F-26 Stealth Superiority fighter began sweeping through the skies, reaching supercruise speeds of mach 2.1. The fifth generation aircraft that had been built utilizing Metaboard technology, was designed for air superiority and to dominate the skies in aerial combat. It was a multi role fighter, capable of using air to surface and air to air missiles. It's radar cross section, with the new specialized radar absorbing paint and sleek design, was at .000094 meters squared, a slight improvement upon the F-22 by .00006 meters squared. This ensures that it's almost impossible to pick, and even harder to track/target. A specialized kinetic Missile Defense system was built into the design, which helps to dramatically improve survivability should enemy radar effectively lock on to the aircraft. Utilizing highly advanced networking and ISR, the aircraft can communicate with the Japanese Navy and even older generation aircraft to spot and identify potential threats and coordinate defenses. It's built with an advanced electronic warfare suite, capable of targeting any enemy radar equipment and o erwhelm it with false signatures. It will also be equipped with low frequency communications devices and advanced electronically scanned array radar to ensure the aircraft can identify potential threats with accurate medium range capability. Finally, the aircraft will utilize sensor fusion to effectively show the pilot what they need to see, when they need to see it.

Japan, in an effort to force the Metaboard to agree to their demands, would begin launching volleys of tomahawk cruise missiles at the major airstrips and military bases. Escorts of aircraft would fly by and conduct air strikes, hitting power plants and telecoms centers. The nation would experience rolling blackouts and phone/internet outages on a mass scale. Once finished, the pilots were ordered to begin targeting water treatment plants, and apache would eventually be sent in on the next phase to napalm the crop fields.

The JSDF would continue to conduct flight tests with the new F-26 fighter to determine it's capability and reasonability. Despite the enormous budget it has eaten up, the overall unit cost would be cheaper than the F-22. The Department of Defense would cut the F-22 goal to 380, in order to reduce costs as the new fighter would be ready for deployment within the next year. Finally, with the SOSUS and Intel satellites prepared, Japan would form a defensive net of intelligence and recon around the Pacific. Japan would begin hiring civilian dredgers, as plans would be drawn up to build artificial islands around the Pacific, to strategically place anti-ship batteries and airstrip. The project will cost an estimated 3.1 bil, and will ensure Japanese solidification of the Pacific. Finally, the Japanese Final Defense would be established. The overall cost would amount to 80 billion, and take 3 years to complete. The project would utilize 6,300 non nuclear Trident IIs, placed in under water silos(Utilizing the dredged to clean the seabed for the construction), ready to be fired at any who seek to assault the Japanese mainland.

In an effort to secure the intellectual property of the Japanese Military, all research, schematics, Plans, Intel, and theories would be centralized on an offline server where. In any research facilities, the organization doing the work is required to utilize a heavy string of identification requirements. These requirements must all be met and include finger print, biometrics, password, and facial recognition. Data transfers can take place wirelessly, but can only be done via the facility administrator, and must have approval from the facility it will be sent to. The capability to download anything on the networks computers are disabled, and must file a report to the facility administrator in order to be given temporary access, and each account is given guest permissions to ensure that if a password is stolen, information theft is compartmentalized. These standards would be put in place in every A and B class facility(Which incorporates Intelligence facilities, research facilities, and strategic planning).

Power plants, water treatment, and telecommunication facilities will require biometric, facial and finger print recognition authentication to ensure the safety of vital civilian infrastructure. The facilities themselves would be monitored by radar and camera feed, as well as have security personnel. In the event of an emergency, the Japanese Government had begun installing back up generators in government shelters as well as hospitals, police stations, military installations, etc to ensure that if those facilities were targeted, temporary measures were secured. Water reservoirs would be constructed to allot a alternatives in the even of a crisis, and the telecoms centers would be constructed to withstand bombardment, with numerous sensors constantly monitoring them. This was all apart of the plan outlined by the Director of Intelligence in the meeting about the defense budget for this year.

Meanwhile, the cyber warfare division had been established in the intelligence branch, and a number of highly skilled individuals would begin recruiting potential prospects from the private industry, where they will be retrained to suit the needs of the government. Furthermore, 21 black or gray hat hackers would be released from prison under the guise of serving time as a member of the military. Here, they would be given a number of additional freedoms, though still not allowed to leave the facility.

.:Public:.

After heavy bombardment, officials from the Metaboard have, henceforth, agreed to the reduction of their military by 80%, as well as sacrificing the islands claimed by the Japanese Regime. The tattered nation attempts to move forward after the dark days that have plagued or recently. Japan has halted it's aerial assault, but affirms that the nation may only trade with Japan from this point forward. As such, building materials soar as Japanese businesses lessen their competitive market, with the Metaboard being forced to purchase exclusively from the foreign companies.

To ensure the security of Japan, a series of automated UAV probes would be dispatched into orbit ti find and identify satellites and their location/orbital pattern. A recharge station would also be launched into space, with the clear goal being to ensure the continued operation of the Automated vehicles. The project total would amount to 450 million for the recharge station, which would incorporate basic LaWS prototypes, as well as a number of solar arrays designed to farm energy. The AI UAVs would upload all information every hour to the Japanese Military Com Satellite, to ensure that if the drone were destroyed, very little information would be lost. The cost of the drone itself would amount to 18 million, and would be replaced with little regret if damage ensues. The vehicle did not carry weapons, and was only a repurposed recon vehicle. It would take the Japanese Regime 3 months to accomplish this task, as the nation ensures that destroying it's satellites would mean mutual destruction.

In the office if the emporer;

"Sir, we've recorded movements of Chinese forces towards our border on the coast. They say the entire force of 13 million infantry intends to march on us." A young aide would inform him.

"Less than 250,000 are actually soldiers. The rest were recently conscripted. There's no way they'd throw them into a sar with outdated armor, and essentially a non-existent airfirce." The director of Security chimed in.

"We can't afford to think like that. We only have 40,000 men stationed there. Even 13 million poorly armed farmers could over run that. Contact Umbrella, and tell then were interested in... 'crowd supression' weapons." The Emporer would say before dismissing them.

The newly constructed strike group 6 would be dispatched to Hawaii, bringing the total groups in port to 3, as Japan further cements its power and authority in the Pacific.

Final tests would be completed with the F-26, and the ending unit price amounts to 91 million per unit. The Department of Defense would shift to producing 150 of the advanced aircraft per year, replacing the F-22 production. Laurentian would pursue the purchase of 12 of the advanced aircraft, as researches worked hard to develop the F-26B, carrier variant of the aircraft. Supremacy would be a key to securing victory, second only to the navy. As such, 3/4ths of the research staff would be shifted towards developing the new Automated Stealth Submersible, intended to produce at low cost with low maintenance. The vessels would eliminate any sub attempting to operate in the Pacific, using information provided by SOSUS, surface ships, and listening posts. Additionally, any unapproved military vessels in the Pacific would be targeted for elimination should they enter Japanese waters. The target goal was a cost of no more than 700 million per unit, at 130 units. (Overall cost of 91.5 billion over 2 years.)

Japan would begin purchasing additional uranium to begin enrichment to weapons grade capabilities. Nuke production itself would be post poned for 2 years due to budget constraints, and 3.2 billion would be allotted to procurement per year. The available budget remaining for the current year stands at 13.2 billion.

The submersible carrier under development by the Japanese Department of Defense, has been halted and indefinitely post poned. The decision was made after the invention of the PD-23 Sonar system, utilizing low frequency active scanning sonar to detect the submersible signals in the water, and then identifying submersible targets at distances of approximately 43 miles. As such, this eliminates the over all mission/purpose of submarines. While autonomous subs will still be utilized for basic deterance, attack submarines will be phased out of the JMSDF, and replaces with specialized anti air frigates to be developed at a later date.

The new sonar technology will be equipped on current Destroyers as well as future capital vessels. Further more, the Fusion Reactor specifically designed for the project will be repurposed in future ship designs as well as the USV designed to embed itself into existing seabed sensors, as well as utilize the new laser scanning technology. With the deemed a failure, designs will be drawn up to develop a new type of cruiser to ensure naval supremacy. The intent is to develop the concept of railguns and implement then on newer vessels. Additionally, a final product would be completed for the LaWS anti missile project would be focused to ensure the safety of future vessels. As such, a budget shift will reallocate the remaining budget from the carrier project to the new cruiser.

A non nuclear Minutemen III ICBM would be fired towards an uninhabited island off the coast of Hawaii. On Hawaii, the prototype Arrow Missile Interceptor would be fired. The designation of 'Success' for the project, is officiall given should it meet 3 conditions.

The first condition is the capability to intercept the projectile far enough in orbit to render the missile ineffective. This is critical when deploying the system against nuclear weapons.

The Second condition, is the capability to alter it's route/target midflight, to ensure that the interceptor can effectively eliminate long range cruise missiles.

Finally, this interceptor must be able to reach substantial speeds to effectively deal with evolving opponent capabilities. As such, it must be able to reach speeds between mach 3 and 4.

The following test will determine if the Arrow Defense System can effectively protect Japan against long range threats to it's security.

Early warning OTH radar would detect a fast moving projectile flying off the coast of China, targeting Honolulu, Hawaii. A specialized AI would flag the projectile as suspicious, and utilize the intelligence satellites to grab an image and forward it to the JIDF. From there, the acting chief would approve the launch of the Arrow system to target and intercept the projectile mid-flight, before it could reach a threatening range.

At least, that was the exercise being used for the test of the new Arrow interceptor system. The battery would fire a single missile, where it would reach mach 3.6, hurtling at break neck pace towards the projected route of the missile. The 'nuclear warhead' would diverge into 12 separate warheads, an emergency measure to overwhelm missile defenses. The targeting system would retarget towards the center, intending to use its fragmentation to effectively render the warheads irrelavent. A critical computing error would retarget the missile too far to the left, and only remove 5 of the warheads. Despite the success of 2 out of 3 portions, the test was deemed a failure, and additional testing and development would be deemed neccessary.

To shore up and secure Japanese infrastructure, the intelligence community would pour 2.3 billion in funds to establishing seabed sensors from the Chinese provincial coast to  eastern Japan. These measures were developed to further cement ASW Capabilities.

The Second test of the Arrow system would take place. The missile would head towards the non nuclear warhead once more, where the missile would split into 12 individual warheads. This time, the Arrow Missile would release a soft EMP, staggering the warheads for a period of no more than 30 seconds. As the EMO went off, the missile would arrive at the epicenter of the warheads, and detonate. It's fragmentation would effectively nullify all if the warheads, causing them to deteriorate in the atmosphere harmlessly. As if now, the Arrow system was labeled a success, with a price tag if 24 million per battery(or 3 million per missile). To ensure the security of Japan and it's assets, the purchase of 31 batteries would be put in motion, with a total cost of 750 million credits.

With the development staff completing their work on the projectile, they would be shifted towards developing the Poseiden ASM, to ensure the security of surface vessels against rising subermsed threats.
