Her eyes out of focus, darting across the room. And she wouldn't stop grinning at me. "Usually waveless meat doesn't get to hear. You must be so excited!" "Right. Yes. Of course." Her companion was more matter of fact. He barked a simple order: "Strip." "...excuse me...?" "Space Powder. Detoxifying. Mandatory. Strip down." "Erm, toxins...?" She looked at me, and took on an apologetic tone. "It's not so bad. We've really had to tighten things up since the Fraggle Incident. Fluff everywhere..." she bit her lower lip. "May Uncle see them to their deserved fate. Don't worry. I'm sure writing your story will be worth it!" What could I do? It took me ten minutes of arguing to get my clothes back. With it they handed me half of a bagel, and a plastic cup of purple liquid. It felt like I'd just given blood. Welcome to the Church of Spaceology, she said. He made the entire speech from his pool. The mic was wired, so whenever he moved or gestured, five followers would hold the cable over their heads for him, out of the purple water. He looked haggard, and only one of his hands was on the mic. I was glad I hadn't drunk my cup yet. "Yesterday, you were told. Tomorrow, you were told. Today, there is little to say. The loop draws closed. The bagel reaches its end. I reach my end. Ends reach their end. We begin." The followers, there must have been hundreds of them, were looking in every random direction. Were they even listening? The room was packed thick. The air hung, and any time you brushed up against someone, you would stick. They all had the powder on them. "Look upon the beginning. The bagel you were given. The bagel you were told. Similar, but different. What changed?" They all spoke. It was like a communal groan. "Poppies." I guess they were listening. "Poppies. Seeds. What is a Seed? Potential. A capsule of Time and Space. Who is a Seed?" My head was swimming. Was it just the heat? How did I not notice the guy in the tiny pirate ship rowing across the pool? "You. No longer me. I have come to the beginning. Let the seeds show the way. For in that Time, the poppy can become something more... lend itself to vision. Opiates are one way to bridge the gaps between the synapses. To make connections across Space." Opiates...? I poured the cup into the pool. No one seemed to notice. My head didn't feel any better. His final words before returning to his "ship." The mic dropped by the side of the pool, and many sets of eyes greedily fixed upon it. Excited, the nearest follower leaned close to me. "It's our time, now." TL:DR: Please join me in welcoming Ripper, who will be handling CoS's FA, and is presumably only slightly evil. I cannot promise comics during peace-time, but they can certainly be used during war negotiations. I mostly enjoy just hanging around in channels acting like a moron, so it makes sense to restructure in a way where the alliances suffers less if I do that.
