Friends and potential investors!  We have an important announcement to make!

Stratton Oakmont will soon be conducting its second ever public auction of shares.  Shares give literal ownership of the company, including a portion of dividends declared by the Board of Directors, the ability to vote for said Board every two months, and the right to sell your shares privately to another buyer whenever you wish to.

We are selling a maximum of 70 million shares (nearly a quarter of the entire company) at the auction.  It will run from the evening of Saturday the 12th of August (US EDT) to just before midnight on Saturday the 19th.

The auction will feature bidding on price per share.  The highest bidder gets to buy as much as he/she wants to, or can afford to (Standard SO loans will be available for those temporarily down on their luck).  Once they have done so, the second highest bidder will be allowed to buy as much as able/wanted, and so on until either all bidders have bought their fill, or no more shares remain to be sold.  This means, obviously, you do not have to have the highest bid to obtain shares.

Minimum bid will be $30 per share, minimum buy upon winning a bid is 1000 shares.  Don't bid if you want or can afford fewer shares than that.

Lastly, a small note that private institutions (banks, mutual funds, insurance companies, etc.) are forbidden from the auction.  Alliances and individual members of institutions may bid, but they will be asked to show evidence that the money they use to do so is theirs and they are not a proxy of the institution they belong to.

I hope to see you all in the next week.  We're excited to be opening our doors to public investment at long last, and I hope many of you are excited at the chance to become an owner.
