Popular Post Rozalia
As time went by Don Juan's power only grew more and more until he felt confident enough to finally take to the field fully against those not yet under his sway. Having much of the Anti-Rose coalition under his command he commenced a full on invasion of the remnants of what remained of the New Rose Empire. Occupying the city of Ignatia as the command centre for his army and his allies he directed the war to great effect, however word was going round that Don Juan was purposely not making use of his own personal forces to keep himself strong and weaken the others. Don Juan denied such a thing but it kept going around so he needed something to prove to his allies that he was genuine, but with the war having gone as well as it had even going full in at this point might not do it. As he worried he was approached by Lordship, lord of The Knights Radiant who has been a firm pillar to Don Juan, "Glorious Leader you should not concern yourself with the babble of rabble... however if you wish to prove to everyone that you are not as they say then Terminus Est, Roz Wei, and Arrgh to the North are being quite the nuisance... defeat them and surely no one can doubt your convinction, courage, and honesty". "They are dreadfully mighty... I want to prove myself but is there really nothing easier? I mean the enemy includes Prefontaine, Rozalia, Ogaden, Kastor, Odin, and Jacob Hanson". "Prefontaine is stubborn and arrogant; Ogaden is greedy and ill-disciplined. Rozalia is self-opinionated and lacks original ideas; Kastor is too adventurous and independent. People like that find it hard to co-operate, and they will certainly disrupt their council. Odin and Jacob Hanson have the bravery of common fellows. One battle will be enough to deal with them. So not worry Glorious Leader, they can easily be dealt with especially when the Knights Radiant will make sure you attain victory against this filth". "Ah yes, with the Knights Radiant reinforcing Pantheon we are surely unbeatable hahaha. I will prove I am an honest man, but also in what a great general I am when I lead our forces to victory over such terrible fiends". "Lord Don Juan you are far too kind to bless us with your presence, however you are more needed here at Ignatia commanding the coalition as a whole as a supreme leader like yourself should. Please, leave this task to a lesser man in your employ" "But for me to not go... would that not be seen as cowardly?" "Nonsense my Lord. A good leader doesn't just lead on the battlefield, but knows how to delegate tasks to his subjects. You are Don Juan, greatest leader of the age, and these enemies while fearsome are still mere pond scum. There is no need for you to dirty yourself when any of your great generals could accomplish this task" Won over by Lordship's words Don Juan made the preparations for deployment. Knowing it to be a worthless formality he sent a missive asking for the surrender of Terminus Est, Roz Wei, and Arrgh to his Pantheon. As he waited for their refusal he prepared his forces for deployment, he would be sending 450 thousand soldiers which when combined with the Knights Radiant should be able to simply overwhelm the enemy whatever may come. He initially appointed Tywin Lannister to lead the army until he was dissuaded by Lordship again in private, "My lord if I may, Tywin's former lord Ogaden is among the enemy ranks so I would say allowing Tywin to lead your glorious army into battle would be most unwise. Not to say he will betray you but certainly he will not put his all in running down and eliminating the enemy". Mulling it over Don Juan could only agree and demoted Tywin, instead placing Lordship's suggestion Fistandantilus in the position of supreme commander while giving him the title, "General Who Destroys Rebels". "We'll be doing that then Rozalia, what else do others have?" quizzed Prefontaine who had been elected to lead the war effort. Ogaden speaking up made mention of how he has former officers in the enemy ranks and they are reported to not be too happy so it may be possible to sway them on side. "Very well, they are powerful fighters and will assure victory if it can be achieved... no one else? Odin?" Odin mostly asleep from the council jolted into life blurting out that no strategy is required, simply run the enemy through. Everyone present laughed. "I thought he was a loyal fellow... why would he be defecting?", a suspicious Fistandantilus asked. "My sources have informed me that Baronus's unit was the last to reach the enemy camp, by a significant margin too as he was too busy washing his hair. Rozalia incensed has stripped Baronus of his titles and has promised to punish Baronus further when he returns from the battle to come". "So to avoid punishment he wishes to join us... ummm... contact him and bring him here so I can judge how trustworthy he is for myself". Baronus contacted by Codonian's spies under the cover of night made his way to Pantheon's camp with some of his trusted men. Upon reaching it he did as he had promised and revealed the allied forces positions and where they would not be expecting an attack. Fistandantilus however remained suspicious. "How can I be sure you are not trying to trick me? That instead of leading us where the enemy is weak you instead lead us to where they lie in wait... ummm?" "I can swear on my mother and father, on my name, on my honour, but those are but mere words. Allow me to show you if you will but trust me with a blade" Gesturing to a guard Fistandantilus gave permission for Baronus to get a sword in his hands. Holding the blade firmly he put it up the bun that held his pride and joy and in one motion it was cut. "As words do not hold enough value then I hope what I am most proud of will suffice" Fistandantilus having heard from Codonian just how much value Baronus put on his hair was swayed to believe him and ordered for the Pantheon army to do as Baronus had laid out. Baronus's info mapped a route to take that would lead them to the allied forces supply depot guarded by Jim Beam who was known to enjoy his drink a little too much and little too often. "If we defeat Jim beam and burn their supplies to the ground the battle will end no matter if the enemy wishes it to or not", Baronus had said of this plan. Leaving behind Tywin who he did not fully trust and the Knight Radiant forces who he didn't want gaining any glory, Fistandantilus marched quickly and secretly through the marked area Baronus had instructed and made it to the supply depot. Massively outnumbered and with Jim Beam out the victory was quick and painless for the Pantheon forces with the only saving grace being Bambino, who was also drunk, managing to escape by throwing Jim Beam, several of his soldiers, and then himself into the nearby raging river to be swept to safety. However the food said to be there soon turned out to not be there and the supply depot was in fact empty. Fistandantilus looked around to find Baronus but could not locate him, quickly the realisation that it had all been a trick indeed came to him. Confusion set into the soldiers as they were attacked from 3 sides and had their back pushed to the river which soon filled with ships led by Ogaden who also joined the fight after emptying his stock of arrows. While still outnumbering the enemy large parts of Pantheon's army were trapped in the centre and thus useless so the allied forces could fight in even numbers with the terrified Pantheon troops. As Pantheon soldiers fell in large numbers Fistandantilus realised that as dangerous as it was they had to break out and make it back to their camp where Knight Radiant's were waiting. Noticing a weak point in Jacob's forces he commanded his forces to exploit it and breakthrough which to his relief they did. The allied forces chased briefly but soon gave up the chase. On his trek back he met Codonian with but a mere rabble of troops, "General while you were gone Kastor and Odin led a force against our supply depot, I requested aid from Knights Radiant but it went ignored". Fistandantilus was shocked at the terrible news. They had come to destroy the enemies supply and instead met a great defeat and then had their own supplies burned, and why would Knights Radiant ignore the chance to help he thought. "We must stop all of our supplies from being burned, we must defeat Kastor and Odin before they can destroy everything" "Wait general", spoke up Printer635. "If the info we got was false and their supplies were not located where we thought then it must be at their main camp which they emptied to ambush us. Our force still outnumbers theirs even if some have returned. Please give the order for us to march on their main camp" Fistandantilus could not decide which location to send his army to so he split his army in half and rode with half to attack the enemy main camp while Jeric led the other half to defeat Kastor and Odin. The allied forces however had fully expected this and ambushed Fistandantilus once again and once again Fistandantilus met defeat. Meanwhile Jeric failed to rescue the supply camp and was defeated by Kastor and Odin. With no supplies, troops deserting, and many more problems Fistandantilus ordered a retreat to their main camp, this time chased the whole way by the allied forces. As they marched forces they hoped would be the Knight Radiant appeared in front of them but it turned out to be Kastor and Odin. Once again Fistandantilus met a defeat and fled once again towards his main camp which he hoped would be safe. Reaching it he found the gates sealed shut so he shouted to the men on the walls, "Quickly let us in, the enemy approaches! The Knights Radiant must deploy to stop them!". Instead of Lordship appearing Tywin did together with Immeral Ilimaris and Mayor, who let Fistandantilus know the news of the Knights Radiant. "I'm afraid general that the Knights Radiant have left this place quite a while ago, I would wager they expected your defeat". "What!?" the terrified Fistandantilus could only utter. "Also general Lordship before he went let me in on quite the secret. That the reason for my demotion was you, that you told Don Juan that I would betray our forces... well congratulations because you were right, I have no reason to serve those who do not trust me". "What!?" once again Fistandantilus said, knowing nothing of what Tywin spoke. Thoughts ran through his head and he quickly deduced that it must have been Lordship but before his thoughts could leave his head, an arrow shot by Tywin pierced it.

Printer635
- 2 marks for the historical inaccuracies. But my god do you so beautifully capture Don Juan's overbearing ego and insatiable lust for power.
