In recent decades, the introduction of massive standard testing regimes in the aim of "accountability" and academic improvement has been mired in controversy. From the Bush administration's No Child Left Behind to Obama's Race To The Top programs, educators, parents, and students have been split as to whether standardized tests actually improve the quality of education / kids' learning.

What do you think?

Should we have standardized tests?

Here's two (biased) arguments that show the problems and importance standardized testing:

Standardized Testing, John Oliver (Video)

Shock and Awe, Waiting for Superman (Video)

“Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it.â€
