Unveiling the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

This will either wreck the treaty web if members of this league spy on their allies (I am certain the paperless alliances will be overjoyed) or serve as the CB for a future war. Which would plunge Orbis into another nuclear winter. Keep up the good work.

Guess i should start aiming for nukes

Amidst the eternal waves of time From a ripple of change shall the storm rise Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon Behold the razgriz, its wings of black sheath The demon soars through dark skies Fear and death trail its shadow beneath Until men united weild a hallowed sabre In final reckoning, the beast is slain As the demon sleeps, man turns on man His own blood and madness soon cover the earth From the depths of despair awaken the razgriz Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light

The likely-hood of being caught is relatively low fwiw.

Well anyone who thinks its worth the risk can give it a go, I have to wonder if the chance of getting caught (which will have to happen at some point, can't see the vast majority of people agreeing to this arbitrary limit after all and the spy odds can't be that much in favor of the initiator) it could easily set off the very event the Gentlemen want to prevent.

The Sheepy change is forcing the players to either be held hostage by nuke users, or contain nuke users to a limited arsenal.

There's no neutral ground here as a nuke hit impacts all the players of a continent.

or get a larger food stockpile and laugh while everyone else starves

With the standard 2 to 3 months of peace between wars, the world has plenty of time to buy and grow food. Realistically here people the price of food is only double what it usually costs. As an alliance leader we give it free to members. What are you doing wrong?

However I do believe the world needs nuclear guarding. It is horrible to listen to this. Anything we can do to stop the crying messages and forum drama would make this ape get back in his tree top.

Thanks for the laugh, haha.  Good one.

Ah the laughter to the ignorant.  Stay uninformed, it's what you're good at.

Sure, they do it because it's the only tool in a loser's arsenal when they're getting curbstomped. :P

You seem salty.  Losing most all the infra in 6 of your cities to nukes will do that.  Here's a thought, if you are getting nuked too much for your taste, how about we end the war?  Or do you want to have the luxury of beating down others without consequence?  This isn't that kind of game, sunshine.

I just don't understand how the league plans to operate in any sort of secrecy. You'll have to perform several spy ops on any target just to get rid of their spies, and then however many ops for each nuke you want to get rid of. The odds are almost certain that you'll be identified during one of those ops. The target would then reasonably assume the ops were sanctioned by the league, and retaliate against the aa of the league member.

That's certainly an option. Will that option be exercised? Only time will tell.

Why not just make a UN for Orbis and have alliance sign a treaty stating you all are going to abolish all your nukes or maintain a small amount and hug one another and get it over with. Seems easier to me. Of course there will be Alliances that wont sign the treaty or sign up with the UN and you can call them "Rouge" alliances or whatever. Just a thought.

As a few pointed out before, if this needs to be implemented, we need support of a lot of alliances and transparency is needed. This is more likely to succeed if alliances initiate, rather than individual members (may be a few from different spheres to represent fairness).

A forum for the league would be nice, where players can visit and see what's going on (without signing in) and the politics associated with the league would be really interesting as well. If the league will ever involve alliances (rather than individual nations), then we will join.

Interesting idea. A better one would be balancing the mechanic based on the outcome of it's initial results and actually informing the player base of any changes to come. But this is fine too.

Agreed.  "Oh, a war started?  BETTER PUT IN THESE CHANGES!"

While a interesting idea in concept I think the first mwasure, if not already in the works or being done, would be to have alliances pledge to follow a set of nuclear guidelines. Much like the UN and nukes IRL.

Spying away nukes and getting caught will cause problems, and once the league gets in a state of war how will their alliances react? The idea is noble but the what ifs are undoubtedly numerous.

I personally would much rather see alliances agree to limiting their current members to something like the 1/2 limit within their own personal charters and through a global agreement of nuclear armaments and usage.

Nope.  Actually the odds of being caught are very low <5% over the course of an entire kill nuke operation.

Given a long enough timeline certainly...but its a very long timeline.
