A Rebellion in Meonesia

All around the cities of Meonesia, at the exact same time, riots suddenly occurred simultaneously. "End the Triumvirate!" cried many rioters.

 

These riots quickly turned into something even worse--something many are calling a rebellion. Several barracks in Meonesia were stormed by angry mobs of civilians, armed with guns, explosives, swords, and several even were sighted attacking with kitchen knives, according to the Meokraud Police Department.

 

At 3:30 pm, today in the cities of Veswesten, Meokraud, Ataeten, New Bournemouth, and Agriq, mobs of people gathered and charged through the streets. They set fire to several businesses, and multiple homes, as well as several fire stations in each city. Police stations were also targeted, not to mention every single barracks in these cities, as well as Air Force Hangars and runways, Meonesian tank factories, navy shipyards, and other governmental offices and military targets.

 

Police Chief Si'Ah Loata describes what the situation looked like for him when he first arrived at the scene. "It was just mobs of people at the Forsaqani Barracks and Armory. They had already stormed it when I arrived, and had gotten hold of military-grade weapons. Many of my men and women were immediately wounded and/or killed as they came in with their cars. I arrived and was nearly shot, though luckily I realized what was happening and stopped the car and ran out. Eventually it was just gunfire and explosions, as my men and women shot and they shot back at us, and they also heaved grenades, and set fire to our vehicles... It was all very hectic."

 

Si'Ah Loata's police force managed to control the rioters in New Bournemouth. Eventually the rioters surrendered themselves when they ran out of munitions, and faced fire from both police and remaining soldiers in barracks that they had just seized, not to mention multiple thousand soldiers returning from Lebanon.

 

But the situation was different in other cities. "They just blew up the whole [Censored] national guard barracks!" says bystander Yuqa Mealt. This was true--rioters in Veswesten managed to infiltrate a national guard barracks on Yasnai road, and detonate high explosives and destroy the entire barracks, and all 800 people inside.

 

Veswesten rioters then made their way to another armory, where they seized weapons and began attacking police. Police were forced to retreat back to Raqsete Avenue, where they found themselves cornered and surrendered themselves to the rioters. When military forces from Lebanon arrived, their air transport ships were shot down by a Feinc Anti-Aircraft Model Ten Hundred, which rioters had taken control of.

 

Veswesten continues to be in complete discord and violence, as rioters continue to fight against Meonesian soldiers.

 

The case in Veswesten was similar to the cases in all the other major cities less New Bournemouth and Fort Garqanst, which had no violence.

 

When questioned about attacking civilians, especially with recent civilian attacks in Lebanon, the Triumvirate stated that "We didn't attack them, they are rioters with weapons, killing our troops and police that defend them!"

 

"This is turning into another Meonesian civil war," said Talaq Rusha'inias.

 

The Meonesian rioters (or rebels as referred to by some) appear to be doing what they are as they are against the Royal Triumvirate, and their recent actions.

 

"Are you kidding?" said an anonymous rioter that was arrested in New Bournemouth. "The triumvirate has been making all sorts of mistakes--first off, that hacker revealed how many executions they actually do. Whatever they did is causing our intelligence agency to be destroyed. And on the international scale, they're just making us look bad."

 

The violence continues in Meonesia. As the events unfold, we will keep the international community informed.

In Agriq, the people have assembled, and their leader has risen. He stated the following:

 

"Today is the beginning of a new age in Meonesia. Short lived was the past democracy in Meonesia, but not this time! The Republic of Meonesia is here to claim that it, rightfully, will now hold full power over Meonesia! Never again will Meonesia be ruled by tyrants from which this nation came from! Never again will the people not have the right to choose their leader! Never again will such a horrific leadership reign over Meonesia. And shall it, than the people will have every right to destroy this system and recreate it with a better democracy, or rechoose their leaders! Meonesia will be finally and fully free!

 

And until Meonesia is free... until Altim Atae, Yuna Pasqat, and Orqan Iaos resign and leave democracy to reign, I accept the position of acting leader of this new leadership! And when this war is over and we are freed, Meonesia will elect our leaders! We will elect people we know will make good decisions, instead of this disgrace on Meonesia called the "Royal Triumvirate"!

 

We ask for anyone in the world, anyone in Orbis that supports democracy, despises the Triumvirate, and supports us, to send aid in this time of need in this reign of royalty and aristocratic privilege!

 

And I ask you, fellow members of this rebellion, equal men and women of this new nation, and anyone who is in Meonesia, supporting us or not, fighting for us of against us, to ask yourselves this question: Are you free? No! You aren't! Do you want to be?"

As the Meonesian government murdered a Chernigovan Citizen with dual citizenship in Meonesia, in what they call a "mechanical accident" which we know to be a device put in his head to keep him from leaking information from the triumvirate to the world, we will support this revolution.

The Kingdom of The Evenstar throws its weight behind the Triumvirate. It is in our interest to support the aristocracy within Meonesia, and we have already contacted the Meonesian government to orchestrate our next move.

UPDATE:

 

Two minutes ago (10:13 pm), the Meonesian flag on the Royal Council building was replaced with the revolution flag. The revolution flag is a blue stripe over a green one, with an orange star in the canton.

 

All but eight royal council people were killed resisting the rebels; those eight have been taken prisoner by the rebellion.

The Royal Triumvirate has officially declared that the Republic of Meonesia is not recognized by the official and actual Triumvirate of Meonesia, and suggests the Republic "surrender or prepare to see what is utter defeat".

The United States of America is in full support of the "new" Republic of Meonesia. With this the bill, the United States Congress has voted to send troops and aid to support the rebellion.

President Jeffery Michener said this in the White House Press Conference this: "The United States of America can not stand idly by when a Civil War is erupting in a foreign nation. Democracy shall prevail, it is our duty as Americans to see democracy upheld in all nations. With this Bill, we will bring about a new age for the world. A world where Democracy, true democracy shall outlast all other forms of government!"  

 

United States Congress Voted Today on September 26, 2007. Almost a unanimous vote was declared in Favor of supporting the Rebellion

The Bill included sending to Meonesia:

10,000 US Army and 932 Navy Personal

3 Arleigh burke Class Guided Missile Destroyers(Fully Loaded with three Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawks)

2.0 Million(US Dollars) to help develop and sustain a plentiful army for the new Republic

Finland, supporting our legitimate allied government yet at the same time wanting to see a change in the now somewhat corrupted Meonesian government, has decided to not support any team and instead will send in 5,000 soldiers operating under the banner of the Finnish Red Cross.

 

Finland is worried that the Meonesian Triumvirate will adhere to its promise of raining hell upon the rebels and that the full scale war will escalate.

 

The Government of Finland is proud to announce that 5,000 Finnish troops will head to Meonesia as a part of a Finnish Red Cross Delegation. They will take care of tasks like mitigating the effect on innocent civilians during this war, making sure atrocities do not occur, protecting vital buildings like Hospitals, Power Plants, and will provide food, medicine, water and aid to Meonesians. The Finnish Red Cross will foot the full cost and has already collected millions of Euros in donations to the "Meonesian Peacekeeping Mission".

 

The Finnish Red Cross proudly operates under a "Peaceful Retaliation" method. The 5,000 Finnish troops are very well trained, having recently participated in our elite nationwide war game, Operation Solstice. If Rebels are to fire on us, we will fire back. The Finnish Red Cross has brought tanks and planes just for this purpose, along with for cargo hauls (tanks) and supply drops (planes). The Finnish Red Cross has also volunteered to send materiels to PoWs in Meonesia. Again, we operate under the Peaceful Retaliation method and trust that the Meonesian Triumvirate will not fire on our troops, which are flying both Finnish Flags, the UN flag and the Red Cross Flag.

 

If the Meonesian Triumvirate, or the Rebels of Meonesia should they win the war, ask for us to pull out, we shall. Otherwise, it is our intent to help Meonesia rebuild if the Meonesian Triumvirate does rain hell upon the rebels.

 

This will also be an excellent training exercise for our troops, learning what a zone of conflict looks like and basic skills. We are on the way and will build bases in seculded areas of no strategic value outside cities to serve your country in this turbulent time. Medics will also come, some from the military and some from the FRC.

Estimated cost: $65 million (1 month) and add $35 million for each month it goes beyond

 

$30 million base investment - building materials for inital base - Warzone Involvement Pay (a one time bonus given to soldiers who enter a warzone by the Finnish military, in this case the Red Cross) - inital food, water and ammo supplies - logistic to transport inital supplies - cost of transport fuel there and back

$25 million a month - soldiers pay and FRC medics pay (20*8*30*5000 = 24 million for the soldiers only) Calculations are made 20 dollars an hour, 8 hours on duty a day, 5000 soldiers, 30 days in a month. FRC medics are also paid at the same rate. We have 210 medics destined for Meonesia.

$2 million each month in Meonesia for food, medicine, water and civilian packages

$8 million each month when rebuilding begins including supplies and vital necessities

The 12th Regiment suffered over 200 losses during the Evenstar-Caledonia War last year when they spearheaded assaults into the city of Cork in Ireland.

Almost half of the current enlisted men in the 12th Regiment (and the majority of soldiers being sent into Meonesia) are veterans from the Evenstar-Caledonian war.

 

As collaborations with The Meonesian government continues, The current regiments stationed in Evenstar-Meonesia have begun extensive training exercises to practice combat in urban conditions.

Many lessons have been learned from the recent wars against Caledonia (which is technically still going on), and the Dutch. Particularly in the messy field of urban combat, which came to pass with the Evenstar invasion of Caledonian cities in Ireland.

 

The Evenstar has also brought up the issue with it's international partners in the IDO for approval. Although it is not seeking support from the IDO, it does want to make sure that intervention in Meonesia won't cause issues down the road.

We are happy to see the peacekeeping forces. In any conflict, the innocent are the biggest victims. We have no intention with interfering in humanitarian efforts and will assist them in any way possible. In fact, depending on the situation, we may be willing to even limit out own tactical options just to appease them.

 

Chernigov has cut ties with the Evenstar for it's blatant ignorance of the offer of peace.

 

You're going to cut ties with your brothers and sisters in Christ over a little operation that means absolutely nothing to Cherigovian interests? That's fine. You never helped us with anything anyways.

 

Following Chernigov's separations of ties, The Evenstar is officially closing our embassy in Chernigov and cancelling our ''general ally'' treaty with them.

You're damn right it'll help the war; we'll put the rebel dogs down for good! I'd also like to reiterate that we will heavily review our actions to ensure that we do not interfere with the peacekeeping/humanitarian forces.
