This actually seems like good bussiness model. Protector pays us to hit their protectorate, they "fail" to protect them, members merge into protector. Potential bussiness and jokes aside, I'd tought the protectors were satisfied with ex-SD and ex-R&R members merging into them and boosting their tax farming?

It certainly wasn't for tax farming; SD was a low-NS alliance, thus don't make a ton. Our taxes are low as well; as a result our alliance income went up by a very minor amount (~2  cities on a large nation)
