Already read 2 of those, and I know what the rest of them have in store, so why bother giving them more than a skim? There was one thing that mae me snicker, though courtesy of Blackfyre's (((Goldberg))):

But since everyone offers the same things, I'm going to ask this: whoever provides the fattest welfare checks (more important) and most lenient raiding policies (less important) will win my greedy, greedy little growth-obsessed, plunder-hungry heart. By those 2, I mean present me your tax rates, newbie boost offers, and loan rates for the former, and how willing you are to turn a blind eye if I decide to bomb the orphanages of other nations when it strikes my fancy for the latter. And so far? The Black Knights have already enticed me.

 

Oh, and be honest. Don't decide to give me more free stuff or let me be more rambunctious than other newbs because I betrayed my greedy little nature... :^)

 

(fyi, I've played before and I'm familiar with the game; in a more serious tone, can someone tell me what things have changed since the turn of 2016? I seriously need to readjust)

I wouldn't be surprised if Guardian has the most generous aid of any alliance - 50% aid city aid for city 1-14 and 30% for city 15 and beyond. Plus the 50% aid will likely get bumped up to past city 14 by the time you'd get there. Plus you'd likely get additional freebies to make sure you're building either a project or new city every 10 days until you get to at least city 10. But part of the reason why we can afford it is that we don't accept a whole lot of new members (also 30% tax on income, 1% on resources), so you'd have to make your case for why it's worth it for us to accept you and invest all that.

 

As for raiding, you can raid basically anyone that won't give us trouble with bigger alliances, as long as you don't ask for help if your opponents or their friends fight back.

 

The only significant change I can think of since the turn of 2016 was a change in the score formula.
