Yes, Gary Johnson was ONCE a Republican, but now he is a Libertarian and has been so since Dec of '11.  So no, there are not 2 Republicans running for president, there is a Republican and a former Republican who is now a Libertarian that are running for president.  Before you go and say...."Well, he pretty much is a Republican, take a look at his voting record and how he ran things as the governor of New Mexico.  He doesn't exactly "toe the line" right down party lines as a Republican.

Well yeah, he's not lining up with Republican values entirely. But some of his policies are likely similar to Republicans than to Democrats, though. In a nutshell, he's fiscally conservative just like Republicans, but socially liberal just like Democrats.

 

I think he's just like both Rand and Ron Paul within the Republican party, though. But unlike Ron Paul who wanted to abolish IRS and bring the Fed to its end, Gary Johnson hasn't spoken anything about those important things in his campaign.
