The War to End all Wars (RP Applications thread)

   Sarajevo, Bosnia, The Austro-Hungarian Empire. June 28th, 1914, a day which marked the beginning of one of the bloodiest conflicts in Human History. That day was the day that Franz Ferdinand von Hapsburg-Lorraine, Archduke of Austria-Este and Heir apparent to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Within the next month, the world would spiral into a war that would forever shape the face of the world, as well as cause conflicts in the future. On the first of August, 1914, Germany declared war upon the Russian Empire, and on August 3rd, declared war upon France. On August 4th, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland declared war on Germany after the later did not respect Belgian Neutrality. It is now 1915, and the war is in full swing, with both sides already taking heavy losses. You are either a civilian caught in the middle or a Soldier fighting on the front lines, but be warned, 57% of all mobilized men would die in the course of the war, and many of your friends will likely be lost, however, there are some fates worse than death, such as blindness, permanent disability, or shell-shock, to name a few.

He carries a Pattern 1914 Enfield Rifle as well as a Webley Revolver. He always carries an image of his wife, so that he wont forget about what he is fighting for: Not just his nation, but to protect his family.

 

RULES (MUST READ):

1# - Keep it in character on the RP thread.

2# - Keep the rp realistic.

3# - Do not use these threads for any arguement, unless it is in character.

4# - No metagaming (Using information gained OOC'ly in Character.)

5# - No, I repeat, No Powergaming (For instance "I shoot the man across the battlefield, killing him instantly due to being able to.". If you are going to roleplay a combat situation, you must, I repeat, MUST let the other person reply first before going on. ANY BREAKING OF THIS RULE WILL DISQUALIFY YOU FROM THE ROLEPLAY PERMANENTLY.)

6# - Treat higher ranking soldiers with respect at all times, unless they are the enemy.

7# - If you are an officer, try to keep men serving in your squad alive. If any of your men get stuck in mud for instance, but you have several other men who are not, you should only go back if you absolutely must, as it could get you and the rest of your men killed.

8# - If, for instance, the creator of the thread (IE me), or an admin says something happened, deal with it, it happened, unless of course, it did not make any sense.

9# - If your character dies, you can make a new one to replace him/her.
