Popular Post Prefonteen
As of two days ago, I have permanently resigned from my position of Director of Marketing of the Syndicate. To my allies: It was a pleasure winning Orbis together. To the rest of the world: Screw y'all. You can deal with Eumir now. See if you like that better for diplomacy. Popular Post Eumirbago
Quote Hansarius: My first complaint is with the Bored War.I have yet to see our Primarch own up to the disaster this war was for our sake.It was a total failure in both Military and Political aspects. Our late participation to aid our allies and failure to influence the war strategy lead to a disastrous defeat. When we first entered the war, the war was already decided and our arrival did little to no impact.Further more, the alliance which we did attack had a consequence in that it further strained our relationship with our allies in the Black Knights. Not to mention that the move left us wide open to a counter attack from the Syndicate. The losses we suffered was quite possibly more terrible than what Rose suffered when they entered the war.It would have been much wiser to either more strongly influence the the war strategy, rather than support the strategy of escalating loss, or to reciprocate Paragon's aid granted to us during the Oktoberfest war and find an auxiliary alliance which wouldbe less likely to invite a counter attack from the Syndicate. The worst of all this is that our Primarch not only did not own up to the mistakes made here, something which would make forgiveness possible as it would show that he would learn from the experience. What he instead do was attempt to paint the situation into some sort of victory claiming our objectives were met. This lack of honesty and insight is unforgiving.Secondly and even more grievous is how the council has handled the situation with Arrgh. For months UPN and our allies has suffered raids from these pirates and our council has done little or nothing to adress the problem. It is understandable that Arrgh's exploitation of the game mechanics made dealing with them challenging, but it was by no means impossible. The council more our less accepted that UPN members were prey for Arrgh to attack with impunity. Only when it became known that there would be changes to the game mechanics did things somewhat begin to move within council, but even when they knew it was happening they did not mobilize the membership.I warned them that Arrgh would attack when the mechanics changed and that they would choose to attack us as a gambit or to go out in the blaze of glory. The response that game was a suggestion to adopt a 40% mobilization, when we instead should have been fully prepared. To make matters worse is that the Council took several hours to address the attack and rally the membership to defend the alliance, despite being aware of the situation early on.Understanding must be shown that people have lives and jobs which comes first, but as people were around it would take little effort to make a short statement or to delegate the task. And even when the council members did come around it still took some time for the council to do anything productive about it, I know for a fact that our leaders talked to our allies of the attack before theyaddressed us the members, something I find more than just a little troublesome. Some credit should be given to the council for the coordination which they have aided us with well after the war started. But the initiative for it all came from regular members, and the members has done an extraordinary job with the fighting and when the war is won and over, I believe every member should know that the councilis indebted to them for making it happen. And my third complaint is of something which has not yet happen but which is about to.Tomorrow on he 10 of April, our council has in the council chamber made it clear that they will sign an ODP with the Syndicate.I have seen no discussion of it in the council chamber previous to this. I can understand why because I believe most of the senior advisers would strongly speak out against this. The Syndicate along with Mensa HQ remains our gravest enemy. It is not forgotten how they plotted against us last year nor are the heavy reparations demanded of us in the Oktoberfest war.Yes, I made mistakes in attacking them, but it was not a war which was unprovoked. They have a history of being manipulative using other alliances as it's tools, and now our Council is willingly letting themselves become their pawns. This move isn't only insulting to those in UPN who has fought against the Syndicate and others who has attempted to dominate the game by the destruction of others, but it is also a slap in the face to our current alliessuch as VE & Rose. Why our council is so infatuated with them is beyond me, but all this does is to run a wedge between us and our current allies in trade off becoming one of the Syndicate's tools. When Emmad took over as primach he did so promising the alliance more transparency and accountability. This was his platform for election Quote from: Emmad I would like to say I want to be more open, and I would say post war we are already on that path. There is nothing wrong with being open, but as I said post war the members need to hold us accountable. If you don’t think you are getting answers ask us about things. Things like The Purple Post are already having an impact. But what I have seen so far is less transparancy and less accountability. Not more.I believe it is about time they are challenged so that they start to deliver on what they have promised. To clarify a little, I generally try to speak of the council as a whole, but there are members of the council who I am impressed with positive of, and others with whom I am less impressed.I hope those of you who agree with me will speak up, if we do not then we are only further encouraging the disregard which they are showing the membership.
