Government to Intentionally Cause Inflation

Meokraud - It was announced today by the spokesman for the House of the Treasury that the government will intentionally cause inflation in the monetary system. "We just think it's ridiculous, really," said Secretary of Economics Wagapi Poqi. "I mean, with our current system, people make only around M 3 each day. That needs to change." Nothing good every gets done when people compete for the public vote. That is why I've been running the country forever. We listen, and adapt. We don't let the uninformed public establish a foothold in the government.

We have seized the means of production. Though union, and self-governance, we have organized between all peoples of the land.

Monarchy was better.

Democracy and all of its variants hinder the progress of humanity. A nation can only achieve true efficiency when there is no competition within its own borders.

All this opposition to Democracy is beautiful. I might shed a tear.

While Rokkenjima may not be democratic, we are certainly not against democracy. We look forward to seeing what this new government may bring.

This in no way makes any economic sense.

It's like the alchemists in the middle-ages who wanted to be able to turn common metals into gold, with the idea that if everyone had gold no one would be poor -_-

Instead of purposefully causing inflation, which is a reduction in your population's purchasing power, simply have your central bank revalue and reissue your national currency at a desired exchange rate, known as a fixed exchange rate. The Central Bank of Athretvari issues the Yen and values it at AÂ¥1 = $0.01. (Basically one Athretvar yen is worth one Orbis penny.)

Yeah, we'll just take back every single Meonesian Dollar from all 350,000 people in our nation, track the exact amount they all had, and give them the exact amount back without being sued.

No, we know it'll all be the same value. We're not increasing our riches, we're just making the value of each dollar less by distributing more.

Hmph! Like we would allow power to possibly slip into the hands of humans. Completely absurd!

You do realize that this is the actual way it works, right? Yes, overtime you take back every dollar and give them back the new versions, in your case 1,500 new dollars per every one they hand in. (Sue because they get more? Weird people you have.) In a modern society, where people dont carry much or any cash, but instead use credit cards and have bank accounts, this can be done literally overnight at the central bank-bank interface level. (Just like all of the Eurozone countries did when switching over to the Euro.)

Funny how you talk about the Euro, because Meonesia is now switching to the North Atlantic Union Note.
