A question for libertarian Trump supporters

Since when are Libertarians for big government socialism? Some are for Bernie too you know. The self destructive "Muh real Libertarianism" is irrelevant to most rational people. Some of them weigh the issues and see Trump as leaving a lot of things to the states and whatever the propaganda is Trump was the least warlike Republican (well outside Rand I suppose but he was irrelevant) and Hillary is an infamous war hawk.

Looking at the group's statement:

This is because, Block writes, “there are some libertarians who oppose supporting any politician for political office, even a 99% pure one such as Dr. Ron Paul.â€

“There are several issues upon which libertarians do not and cannot support Donald Trump. For example, protectionism,†writes Block. “But, typically, regarding the issues where Mr. Trump deviates from libertarianism, so do the other candidates.â€

While a true Libertarian candidate would more closely embody the party’s goals than Trump, Block says the group’s ultimate goal is not to seek a “perfect†candidate, but “to throw our weight behind the candidate who has a reasonable chance of actually becoming President of the United States whose views are CLOSEST to libertarianism.†[emphasis theirs]

And where Trump really stands out, Block says, is his foreign policy.

“As Murray Rothbard and Bob Higgs have demonstrated over and over again, US foreign policy determines what occurs in economics and in the field of personal liberties,†writes the senior fellow of the Ludwig von Mises Institute. “Foreign policy is the dog that wags the other two tails.â€
Acknowledging the Donald is “no Ron Paul on foreign policy or anything else for that matter,†Block says the businessman is still “head and shoulders†above his Republican counterparts.

He has said, time and time again, things like “Look at what we did in Iraq. It’s a mess. Look at what we did in Libya. It’s a mess there too. And we’re going to repeat our mistakes in Syria? Not on my watch.†Would Cruz or Rubio ever say anything like that? To ask this question is to answer it.

Lastly, Block insists Trump may be the only candidate that could prevent a World War III scenario with Russia.

“Who is the one candidate who went out of his way so as to not antagonize Russia and Premier Putin? It is the Donald, that is who. Do we really want to fight World War III with Russia? With Mr. Trump at the helm, we minimize the chances of this catastrophe occurring.â€

Translation. They think the fundamentalists are fools who will never achieve anything nor ever be happy with anybody. The Donald is not perfect to them by a long shot but Ungrateful Gary is irrelevant and the other option is Crooked Clinton.

Any libertarian who supports sanders is also not a real libertarian, i was genuinely surprised to discover thoose existed

The one reason there are a handful of libertarian Bernie supporters is because, surprisingly his economic platform. Bernie wants to throw out the corporatism- crony capitalism and the policies that keep them in place. This would nullify most of the issues that libertarians have with our current economic policies.

That ignores the fact that he wants a progressive income tax and wants to put Governemnt spending and size through the roof. Which are the opposite of libertarian, except for left-libertarians and libertarian socialists, but most are central or right libertarian.

When you say left-libertarian, what exactly do you mean?

Most left-leaning are pretty much Anarchists. Here in America we have a pretty narrow terminology for libertarian thought. In the really real world I do not use the word for my own association as I either have to explain it or people assume I am a political party affiliate. When people ask what my "party" is I tell them I am an independent and I hate their party which is true.
