Ragnarok Invades Orbis

I thought a black heimdall was about as ridiculous as making a movie based on a marvel comic about a nordic god with a magic hammer. If you can have a magic flying hammer then why not a black heimdall?

Because the Norsemen were Caucasian?

I'm inclined to agree, Heimdall was a Norse god invented by white Norsemen and I doubt most of them (if not all) had ever even seen black people at the time of Heimdall's inception. It doesn't really make much sense but then again a lot of things in that movie didn't have a particularly solid connection to reality.

I personally thought that having a Black Heimdall was ridiculous, Americans are so funny in that they try so hard to be viewed as non-racist, but in so doing they just prove how racist they are. Well perhaps not "racist", more like "racially-obsessed", in the same league as South Africa. They haven't learned from Europe that the way to defeat racism is actually by stop caring so much about it. Northern Europe has basically bred tribalism and racialism out of the collective consciousness. American liberals think that they can defeat all intolerance by taking small divisions in society and then turning them into a

canyon so everybody hates each other (gender wars, race wars, etc).

That's not even remotely true. The exact same fear of being seen as racist is readily apparent in Dutch society. Except it concerns Moroccans, Turks and Afghans (predominantly). In many ways the term 'Racist' has also become a defense mechanism for teenagers of these ethnicities. When held accountable for their actions (think of vandalism for example), they often revert to the 'racist' victimization card.

yes, let's judge the legitimacy of concepts based on their treatment by teenagers and dumb adults

sure, sometimes, i'll worry if i'll get taken the wrong way and be seen as racist, or that i'll accidentally say something only to find out that it's racist and i didn't realize it, but most adults can work through these minor issues with little difficulty through talking things out and apologizing if you've screwed up

being a minority doesn't exempt you from stupidity, either. the majority of black people i've talked to about these issues get really annoyed when black people do racist things, even moreso than white racism, because they see it as fueling that fire.

it isn't that i don't understand why white people want to take pride in their legacy - vikings are !@#$ awesome and germany is filled with a lot of great people who have done a lot of really cool shit. the thing is, though, that the nazis weren't even in power for an entire decade. so like if you're sitting there basing yourself on perhaps the worst thing white people have ever done, it's going to draw concerns, no matter your intentions. i would love to see a viking/german/etc. alliance that actually was trying to just celebrate the history of those cultures. but that's not what's usually going on.

Good thing that the odal rune is associated with homeland and noble estates instead of those dreadful Nazi's then.

Look I don't think Vikings = Nazis either, but there is the matter of this SS mountain division <_<.

They were active from 1942 to 1945, a whole three years. The Odal rune was in use in epigraphy during the 3rd to 8th centuries, which means that for the absolute vast majority of human history the rune has been used with no connection to Nazis whatsoever. However, to be fair that particular version of the Odal rune with the upturned wings or feet or whatever you want to call them was first put into use by that SS mountain division. Still, I don't believe that Ragnarok used it with any other intent than it being representative of Vikings.

I know most of these guys, it's all good.  I'm just saying if you use a symbol from an SS mountain division, you'll get a few weird looks.

There were plenty of runes that weren't used by SS mountain divisions, what's wrong with those ones?  Why not runic R?  It looks pretty boss:
