Prefontaine Posted March 21, 2016 Share Posted March 21, 2016 One of the biggest talking points about the last war was the interaction between Alpha and Syndicate, even unrelated threads are getting sidetracked with the drama ( https://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11735-hello-from-the-other-side/page-7) so I am formally inviting both Steve and Partisan for the next radio show. We live in very different time zones but I'm willing to find a time to make this work. If we can get both of them on I will host the the 'debate' by trying to keep things in order and giving each person questions provided by myself and anyone who submits questions. And while I'm friends with Steve, and I link to think reasonable, I'm also friends with Partisan and Pre, as well as in tS. So that's not really balancing the scales from his POV I'd imagine. Saru, SRD, Pub, etc. He's done even more with Malone that I wasn't part of. Pre's always let the guest have their say and had a back and forth conversation. In the Saru show in particular, as I recall a lot of people thought Saru got the better of the exchange. I was simply speculating as to why Steve might not want to come on. But publicly log dumping private conversations with fellow members is a violation of trust in a very OOC way. It's one of those things that once you do it, you will always be untrustworthy in my opinion. The reason I have so much distaste for leaks/dumps, is because the environment it creates. It's one where everything has to be tightly guarded so you can't say things to your general membership that you should be able to. It ruins people's fun.....in a very OOC way. We all like to get the inside scoop, but if you can't trust people with that info then you just won't share that information. And that's the sad consequence of spying, log dumping, or forum leaking. It just ends up lowering the quality of gameplay for everyone, imo. Everyone who plays long enough will lose a wars, everyone will win a wars. But that's not what takes away the fun, it's being kept in the dark or being forced to keep others in the dark due to trust issues. I have nothing to hide and if anyone is genuinely curious to get Alpha's side of the story, I'm on IRC. Partisan and Prefontaine add a lot of really fun aspects to this game. They like to play the political game in a way that creates a lot of fun for us all. They've helped start a number of great wars that are the lifeblood of our world. I can respect that in a OOC way. But going on a radio show with people I don't trust and walking into an obvious setup......naw man. I'll pass. Quote Hello! Problem with that is most of the important questions would be answered by,"you'd have to ask Steve" or with speculation. Only way it works is with partisan and Steve. Not as interesting because if you say something that's full of shit, Steve isn't there to counter it and vice versa. That's the point of having you both on. It would have been you guys effectively telling your sides of what happened with the other to call out the bullshit and me to keep things in order and somewhat on course. Basically we're several weeks removed from the war and your side says Alpha betrayed them. Alpha says they did nothing wrong. Both of these statements cannot be true at the same time either there was or wasn't some form of betrayal or there wasn't. If you come on we'd only hear about the betrayal and not the lack of betrayal. I don't want a show that's just about shitting on Alpha. That's not interesting.
