by paying workers more, workers will buy more and thus reinvest their surplus money back into their wage.

It only reinvests if they buy from the company they work for, if they buy from competes it doesn't reinvest

No monopolies , a state can monopolize stuff, corporations without government support will be met with competition. and the point I made was I'd rather be ruled by coca-cola than hitler, or Isis, or Kim Jong Un, etc.

Nonsense. If the government is powerless then private companies can enforce their own monopolies through force if necessary as happened in the examples I noted. You want your country to be a banana republic? Then keep pining for Coca-Cola.

So you'd rather Kim Jong Un rule America than coca-cola.

Not all the people in the ''1%'' are the owners of corporations, though. My family falls into the ''1%'' and I can confirm you than we don't make $20,000 a hour. Not even close.

Most of our savings, after wages and expenses, are going to be taken up in taxes this year. In fact, our business (and a few hundred more) is going to be shutting down in July of this year directly because of government regulation.

That doesn't just go for us either, though. Most of those in the ''1%'' tax bracket are already paying A LOT in taxes already. The people you should be going after is the 0.001%- the people who run the mega-corporations that directly control Congress and the Supreme Court through lobbying, bribes, and various other backdoor deals.

As the son of a business owner and fellow %1er I will back up all these statements.

George Orwell shows that the revolution had good intentions, but in the end they ended up in the same place where they began.

The reason they were not able to afford college is beacuse they didn't work hard enough to get scholarships, not the government's fault nor problem.

So I didn't work hard? I studied everyday to get great grades, hell I graduated two years early. I only qualified for 5k in student loans and received no scholarships.

The day I graduated, I went straight to work to help raise my niece and nephews, while trying to save up for one years of tuition for a community college. Oh well, Even though I been working since I was 16, I'm just a lazy !@#$

EDIT: Didnt realize how far behind I was on this thread lmao

Kudos to you. At least you made the effort. Too many refuse to just because of the lack of affordability.

This is not a Partisan issue. This is a type of oppression we are dealing with from our elected officials starting with the State and ending at the White House.

Empty promises unfulfilled by every President, to reform college education costs.

Agreed. Many factors are in place where College education itself is a racket in this nation and much of the money being fought over is the taxpayer's dime.
