Administrators Popular Post Alex Posted December 21, 2015 Administrators Popular Post Share Posted December 21, 2015 Hello everyone, I've got some news for you all about our moderators and our moderation team as a whole. First, I'll start with announcing that one of our moderators is leaving our team: Baboon. I ask you all to thank him for taking time out of his busy life to help moderate these forums, and provide a better user experience for you all. Secondly, I'd like to announce some new moderators to our team: Magneto, Thor, and Four. I ask that you give them a warm welcome, and offer them the same courtesy and respect that you would offer me. They're each spending their valuable time to be here, working for you and the betterment of the community. Lastly, I just wanted to mention some changes to our moderation practices. We now have a 2-moderator verification process for issuing warnings and locking threads. What this means, is that two moderators must independently analyze a post or thread before deciding to issue a warning or lock the thread. If they disagree, a third moderator will analyze the issue and be the tie-breaker. This system should alleviate some of the issues of moderation, like when someone's having a bad day or any potential biases that may lurk in a mod's decision. I hope that these changes will improve your experiences with the moderation staff, and lead to a better environment here on the forums as well. 9 Is there a bug? Yosodog
Mods already confirmed worse than Hitler. I like the moderation practices changes though. 5 [22:37:51] <&Yosodog> Problem is, everyone is too busy deciding which top gun character they are that no decision has been made BK in a nutshell
Franz Von Dietrich
Actually, this is a great change. Now maybe; people can stop complaining about moderation?
Isolatar
Actually, this is a great change. Now maybe; people can stop complaining about moderation? As long as moderation exists, there will be no shortage of tears complaints.
italiarule
No offense, but that is really silly. Leaves your moderators with no discretion in taking action and constantly second guessing themselves. This game has always suffered from soft touch moderation that has been paralysed by indecision from the top. If you are not able to make a decision and stick with it in these matters, step back in that area and leave it to someone who is able to do so. Administrators Alex Posted December 23, 2015 Author Administrators Share Posted December 23, 2015 As a sidenote, our moderator Rick Sanchez has changed his name so that a player under the same name could have the correct forum account. He'll now go by "Inanimate Carbon Rod" 1 Is there a bug? Report It | Not understanding game mechanics? Ask About It | Got a good idea? Hereno
the moderation change is good but I'm not sure if it says a lot about the quality of the moderation team. I remember having lots of problems with the mods before. hopefully, the new ones here are intelligent and mature enough to strike a good presence balance.
