Over the course of our 102 day existence we have been approached by many individuals from many alliances ranging in top dog to underdog sizes. All of these individuals ask the same question - who is the bat man? That's obviously a joke - but, the real question is how we run our economic system, what our programs are, and how we are able to throw around so much cash to boost our members 10+ cities while advertising 0 tax for cash and resources.
    It's really simple.
Very few know of our secrets and those that ask are told this:
The Island utilizes in-game mechanics to boost our own profits. Most of this comes from using the market correctly instead of just low-ball or quick-selling. Why break even when you can leave the marketplace a god? This is why we opened our Loot Lake program to the world! Utilizing bulk resources and our ancient chinese secrets, we make bank.
Tie that into our other, internal, 'secret sauce' programs and you have a recipe for success.....with a side of a bunch of people asking you how you do it.
Sadly, our secrets aren't for sale and our sauce, well, its just for the family. How would you feel if I asked you for your family sauce? Next time you're in the grocery store or any public place, go up to the first person you see and say 'Can you give me some of your family sauce?" - reaction will not be positive.

So, maybe you're wondering - what have these people said to you after you turned them off? Well, we have been called names, told we were doing it wrong (then why you askin?), called whales and told we were just relying on donations, & even told we were exploiting the game! I guarantee you no exploits, cheaters have small wieners and I guarantee there are no below average size wieners on The Island. Guarantee. (its part of our app process)

Because of this exploit scare, I slid into Alex's Dms, told him to investigate us for an exploit and explained why we were asking.

Another thing we were told was The Island is a cult and you know what, maybe it is, but its a family and we love each other, and I'm daddy, and we share each other. Sound like a cult? Possibly.

When I left you guys last - I was heading back to InGen (Isla Nublar) on a Flemish Concorde. Today, I sit in Pantheon as a brand new Acolyte...so what happened in between?

I went back to InGen like planned to fix a few issues on the island and that is when it hit me - my time in InGen has come to an end.

InGen has their own plans set in place, they are working towards their goals, and I am blatantly not needed on any particular level, which I am personally proud of considering I have build the alliance to a place where I am not needed. It was my original plan to rest my hat in InGen - I told almost everyone I know, but I think there is still some energy inside me that needs to be expressed before I settle in for the long haul.

    So I started Thinkin.

Thoughts my my plan to roam the world come flying in my head, where do I hang my hat at the end of the trip? What if my plans to join the USAF come sooner - or happen later than planned? Did I resign from InGen Gov too soon? - PW Mid Life Crisis am I right?

So I redesigned my plans to make, first, myself happy and then all of you - who actually care - happy as well.

Will I be going back to InGen?

Instead - I decided to join our protectorate Pantheon. My decision stems from my obsession with them since InGen Signed them in the InGen Investments program with tS and Rose, how they handle their foreign affairs, and how just amazingly great they are in general. Of all the alliances I could have joined their name kept popping in the back of my mind and quite honestly, I would love to help them out as much as I can, while I can, until I'm gone.

    What about the trip Max?!

    Yo, Calm Your Tits.

I'm going to take the trip, but it is going to be a little different than originally planned. Instead of taking the loads of time waiting through application processing, I am going to talk to members and gov of the alliances I wanted to visit to get a hold on what they are actually like. I will go as in-depth as possible and write a report here in my "travel log". I know it isn't as insane as travelling to each - but I can get a lot of alliances done faster and at the same time rather than waiting weeks and weeks.

    I am now a journalist.

So be good to me and I'll be good to you.

    Until next time kids.

To use a phrase to sum up my experience: "Not what I expected."

I am a bit of a CyberNations Vet, started there in 2007 - I've always known of GPA, I think I was even a diplomat to them through a few alliances - I can't think that far back though. As we all know, GPA is the premier neutral alliance in Politics & War - when someone says neutral, you think GPA. I feel like we all enter this world (orbis) with the intentions of war, hate neutrals, war WAR WAR! But...aren't we all a little neutral in our own ways? Look at GPA - they get raided, they fight back - what alliance doesn't do that? They build up a military right? They have nukes? Hell! They've even engaged in war...so what the !@#$ is this whole neutral thing about?!

To me; to be neutral it is to refrain from politics and engagements that would draw in my fellow alliance mates and quite obviously my alliance. It is to protect my members from world politics and not let slip our bullets should we not favor the current global status quo. Neutral is to be equivalent with voluptuous growth.

    What is neutral to you?

I asked this to GPA members and I was quite taken back from the replies. After years of putting the glow of GPA out of my sight and labeling GPA as useless...I feel as though GPA isn't the giant green monster as we are born to believe.

    - - - - - - - -

"Now for me GPA is about playing the game differently from almost any AA out there...It's about solidarity with fellow members and knowing whatever comes GPA will be there after the dust settles again." - Kalev60

"I guess I've always just felt drawn to the idea of neutrality in my real life so it appealed to me in this game - if that makes any sense. While being neutral is a part of why I'm still in this alliance in the first place an ever bigger part of my continued membership in the GPA is the people and the community." - Godfrey

"I want to tell you I am a proud member of the GPA and with [sic] stand in arms with my brothers and sisters through anything. I could never leave the GPA after all I have been through with her.

Long live the GPA, my online family, and the Green menace." - Little Lloyd

    There you have it.

Personally, I loved my time here in GPA. I would recommend GPA to anyone who is looking for a solid, active community. I found their forums eady to navigate, the community was extremely easy going (and fun) and they are always looking for ways to improve what they currently have and make it even better. Most alliances do this - quite clearly - but the active support I saw in each thread was amazing - I was also able to voice my own opinions and being new - I was treated like a member of the community right off the bat. Well done GPA.

What I think GPA can improve on is getting their story heard around the world. What I mean is, I would like to see some more branding, a bit more GPA visually in advertisements and other propaganda to boost the image of this great alliance. There also needs to be a bit more patriotism - you have the theme, logo, style...now reach for the stars GPA.

Thank you to GPA for allowing me to reside in their quarters for this week. I wholeheartedly had a great time and I wish GPA all the best in the years to come. o/

For now, I am jumping on a flight back to Isla Nublar - InGen - thanks to Edsel. I'll be flying in a Concorde from the Flemish Government - I should arrive at mainland in about 2 hours. Thank you Edsel for being more than generous.

(and thanks for not forcing me to do questionaires/forms!)

    RIP to Plenica

Everything is going great in the GPA!

I was able to move out of the board room and into the regular housing area of GPA, I was only there for about 24 hours. The rooms are basic, nothing too luxurious, but I only plan on sleeping in here - there is too much to do in the common areas. It is quite different coming from a smaller alliance like InGen to a larger one like GPA - there are more active discussions and a lot more faces. Don't get me wrong, InGen was hopping with regular activity and spam forums from our members and Public Relations Experts (FA Diplos) alike.

So far, I have been engaging in some discussions with the membership of GPA about growth programs, patriotism, some spam/games, and of course a simple thread where I ask about GPA. I am please to say that I feel very welcome here in GPA and I am a bit upset that my trip will continue on, very soon....

Earlier today when I got back up to my room I noticed there was a letter on the floor, it must have been slipped under the door while I was away. My name was on the front with a return address from Isla Nublar - a letter from home!

    My Reaction.

I decided to check over all my notes and my itinerary and figure out what exactly I could do to go home and help out and I was luckily graced with some great news. The next alliance on my list was South America Alliance, which is unfortunately inactive now - and the next one is Plenica which doesn't seem to exist any longer. So, I could divert back to Isla Nublar while I'm still in South America, fix the issues there, and then continue on my trip to Viridian Entente.

I am still working out my travel details, I can't contact InGen fast enough to get the helicopter out here so I have to devise a different transportation path.

Anyone in South America have a plane or helicopter?

It has been 2 day since the last time I was able to write to you.

Evidently, there were some problems with the local government and riots temporarily shut down any type of services (electric, cable, internet...water). Don't worry though, I am safe now. It would seem the localized riots pushed my way into the GPA stronghold, lucily for me - there were a few other guys waiting to get in. My hat goes off to Drudric, Kevinovic, formalbatman, and Mieszko Rudski - who were still outside when I got accepted.

As I was harboring for safety behind the bench I spent hours on, I heard my name get called over a low PA System. "Max - please step forward." It was stern, I immediately got up and started walking towards the giant doors. They cracked open slightly as I was walking briskly towards - a bright light shown through - as I got closer an arm stretched out and pulled me in, doors slamming quickly behind me. My first thoughts were....what about the other guys out there and who the hell just grabbed my arm?

I was pushed up against the doors that just closed behind me. There were 5 - what looked like guards - standing around me. There was one guard further back who seemed to be holding some type of electronic tablet and was scrolling through information, I assumed reading my application and questionairre. The guards closest to me searched through my bags quickly, then patted me down and checked all my pockets - I wasn't sure what they were looking for, but being as rugged as I looked - I don't blame them.

Shortly after the pat down, I was swiftly moved through a metal door to the left about 10 feet and I was put in what looked like a temporary holding area. The guard who was previously standing behind the other guards came over with the same electronic tablet and told me his name - Malx65. He welcomed me to GPA and gave me access as a general member. Finally, Accepted!

I was handed a few brochures, pamphlets, given a welcome kit with toothpaste, razors, deodorant, and travel size shampoos and was brought to a board house. I have my own room here, I share a bathroom in the board house - which seems to be for new members, so there are only a handful in here. I've just begun exploring the vast complex...It is truly an honor being welcome here.

    More Soon...

It has been nearly 24 hours since I submitted the application and questionaiire to the alliance GPA. Since my last post I was able to meet a few GPA guys - Polaris and BuySomeChips. They happened to walk through the lobby where I was sitting and I stopped them to ask if they knew where I could grab some food and use the bathroom - thankfully they pointed me to a great place down the road (with free wifi - where I'm writing this now). We talked about Thanksgiving for a bit and they invited me to play a game, which they called "last person to post wins" ... which I'm sure I won every time.

It should be known - to new players that sometimes when you join an alliance there can be hold ups. Either the person that greets/masks/accepts you is busy, you have a history that they would like to investigate first before letting you in, or you just simply don't meet the requirements/standards of that alliance. I am so far content - the membership I have brushed paths with have been helpful, very respectful and welcoming and I have no doubt that the rest of the membership is the same way.

I look forward to a warm bed sometime soon - maybe a better home-cooked meal from inside these concrete walls.

    Until next time.

Over the next 20 weeks (give or take) I will be setting out on an adventure across the world of Orbis. Through my travels I will venture through each continent making stops at select alliances where I will remain for a week or two, help out where needed, get to know the culture and community, and meet new people.

Each encounter will be documented here in this venture blog as I travel throughout the world. I am prepared for tough times and great times ahead of me and I look forward to meeting as much people as possible as a traveler through your lands.

While a member of the alliances I will be visiting, I will adhere and take part in all policies and rules expected of members in order to gauge the community and culture of the alliance correctly. I ask alliance leaders to treat me as they would any new applying member - that being said, I look forward to getting to know leadership of Orbis.

    The Itinerary:

I will of course start out in InGen - South America. From there I will travel to:
Green Protection Agency South America Alliance Plenica Then set course for Africa and hit land at Viridian Entente Charming Friends Black Knights Fark Terminus Est Then fly from madagascar to Pantheon The British East Indies Niflheimr riki Trek across to Asia and meet up with Mensa HQ and indulge myself in Dio culture Vargen Institution Roz Wei Seven Kingdoms Then travel further south to Alpha in Australia. Next stop is Brotherhood of Clouds in North America Rose Odd Squad The Syndicate Then back home to InGen to retire before enlisting into the U.S. Air Force in RL.

It is my goal to show the world of Orbis the true communities of Politics & War and open the door for new recruits to try something new or maybe for current members to spread out and try something newer.

If I am in your area - feel free to send an invite and I will see if I can fit you into my travel itinerary.

    Here I come World!

It is about 17 hours since I sent in my questionnaire and application form in the lobby of the great Green Protection Agency...and here I currently sit. In terms of legitimacy, I am still an applicant in-game for GPA and still only sitting with a visitors level mask on the GPA forums. This, to me, is understandable - Green Protection Agency currently stands in fifth place amongst all alliances in Politics & War and they operate with 53 members currently.

During my wait - I had the chance to catch up with another applicant who traveled to join the great GPA; Drudric of Cypentia. He was telling me he was an applicant to the alliance Black Knights for about 3 minutes, before deciding to join GPA. Drudric also reminded me to switch my color of my nation to Green - as the applicant form requests...I must missed that portion of the application form, not enough coffee this morning I guess.

It is a bit saddening to change colors - Pink was InGen's home for quite a while before joining green - but we went back home to pink just recently to relieve the overgrown green sphere and get back to our color roots. In addition, after clicking "Edit Nation" I received this warning...

    ...it hit me.

I'm now stripped of InGen branding - heading into the unknown - alone, leaving my friends and family behind. I'll be back InGen - I promise.

For now thats it - I'm about to engage in some GPA General Discussion on their forums, see what trouble I can get into there. Until next time.

I quickly departed from InGen's Helipad on Isla Nublar and started my course for South America. My first stop on my world travel is the Green Protection Agency. I have never been deep into South America before, I have no contacts here - so I am hoping for a swift acceptance.

It's darker than usual this morning, the ground was wet when I was leaving my suite at the Hilton Isla Nublar - it just rained. Seems quite symbolic - rain representing a fresh new slate as I travel across Orbis - and the darkness representing how I feel, dropping the InGen tag and moving into the unknown for the next 20 weeks.

I was able to sleep on the flight over, but unfortunately I had to trek about 2 miles on foot to the doors of the Green Protection Agency. When I arrived nobody was around - I think I arrived a bit too early. GPA's structure speaks volumes - the architecture of their building shows they have been around for quite a while, I'm eager to see what it looks like inside. My research indicated that the reign of GPA stretches all the way back to 2006...

As I approached the admissions area I noticed panel on the door with instructions on admittance. I needed to fill out a form and a questionnaire. The form was submitted separately to a different area than the questionnaire - but both were easy enough to complete.

Now, I sit alone with the wilderness in an open lobby area, watching the sunrise over the treetops and hit the immense structure of GPA....
