  1. Expecting some kind of proof behind those accusations.
  2. What can I say? I may actually be a middle aged white woman loving minion memes. Or, I may be Gandhi's reincarnation. Or a hippy. Or all of the above. You see Akuryo, kindness may not always work, as you say, but violence, when it comes to... talking, never works. For example, telling a mod "you are a joke" will probably never work. The mod will either get angry, defensive, sad or just use mental exercises from yoga lessons to get rid of this negativity. The same goes for calling people stupid, nazis or whatever. Once you attack someone, you cannot expect them to actually hear you and do what you want (always having talking/discussions/dialogues in mind). But... a post like Scarfalot's, which is neutral can actually alert mods and make them think on that matter.
  3. A reminder that this is a No Discussion Forum. I am sure you know it, but since I am in favor of this well-intentioned (I hope) advice, you get just a verbal warning.
  4. Hello Scarfalot. Thanks for sharing your concerns. I will try to address them below. Regarding the "spamming" part, this issue has been addressed, after messaging the corresponding parties and further explaining the rules of the forum and the mentality behind the reports. You can be sure that receiving 60 reports per day is something that the forum moderators do not want... Regarding the "minor infractions" part, I guess that, if the infractions are indeed minor, then there is no need to worry. Worst case scenario, the forum moderators lose some more of their time to go through the reports. I kinda get the feeling of what you are trying to say here. Regarding the motivation behind reports, I would say this is irrelevant when it comes to handling a report. I mean, the forum moderators can of course realise why/when some people target others in their reports... but this has no place in our judgement. If a post is against the rules, it's against the rules. If it isn't, it isn't. It doesn't matter who or why made the report. Regarding the creation of a "toxic and hateful environment", I am not sure what you really have in mind here. If you are talking about some kind of malice of the ones making the reports, keep in mind that the reports are only visible to the forum moderators, so any "hate" towards reporters/reportees is "filtered" through us. Not sure what you mean by "rewarding" here. If a post is against the rules, it's against the rules. If it isn't, it isn't. It doesn't matter who or why made the report. I guess this is a remark regarding insults, "bad words", slurs, etc. I assure you that the moderators neither focus on the letter of the rules nor on the letters of the comments. Someone may get a warning for flaming/OCC attacking others without using "bad words". Someone else may use a "bad word" as a joke and with good intentions (such are most of the cases of self-sarcasm for example) and get no warnings. It really depends on how the whole picture looks like. ----------------------------------------------- If I am wrong on any of the above parts, please correct me, since I would like to resolve any issues that may have arisen. ----------------------------------------------- In any case, a final comment towards pretty much everyone: The answer to hate is not hate, but kindness. The answer to haters is not hating them but acting with restrain, politeness and in a civilized manner. A person that hates people with brown eyes is not that far away from a person that hates people that hate people with brown eyes. Keep in mind that not everyone is "tough" and not everyone is patient or non short-tempered. To my eyes (and I hope to yours too), everyone should be protected and be respected in one way or another, even the offenders. So, agree to disagree and hug each other. Waiting for your future reports with anticipation. Peace & Love.
  5. @Lord Bob welcome on board and have fun! For reference, my favorite food is donuts.
  6. Sorry, but announcements of "alliances" with 1 member are moved to Orbis Central. Good luck with your endeavors.
  7. Why are you all Something Awful? T_T Since it looks like this is still not clear to everyone... I would like to ask you all to read the rules of this subforum. "This is a No-Discussion Forum. Do not reply to topics in this particular subforum, unless you meet one of the following criteria: You are the topic creator You are the accused in the original topic You have specific evidence to provide regarding the report You are a Staff member" Please, stop reporting people just for answering to the topic, when they can actually do so. And those that do post, please, stay on topic. Cheers.
  8. "Moderation as a Weapon: Using (or attempting to use) Moderation as a Weapon is against the rules and punishable by a nation strike. An example of using (or attempting to use) Moderation as a Weapon is threatening to report another player to an Administrator or Moderator unless they comply with your request or demands. If someone is in violation of the Game Rules, you are obligated as a player to notify a Game Administrator (through in-game Messaging)." 1. The above rule is mainly referred to Game rules, not Forum ones. 2. It also implies that you have indeed broken a rule and another player is threatening you to report you unless you comply with a demand (instead of just reporting you). The goal is to avoid deals under the table and covering rules breaking. In any case, it's not clear to me how the above reports are "weaponizing" our moderation or are for "in-game advantage". What in-game advantage do you have in mind?
  9. Making reports is not against the forum rules (as long as they are not spam reports). What's the violation you have in mind?
  10. A kind reminder to stay on topic and, by all means, avoid OOC drama affecting the game. Cheers.
  11. Unless you have some evidence or something relevant to post, please avoid making further posts. You can take it in DMs, if you have comments to send to each other.
  12. This thread is about people vming and still using the forums to talk about whatever in general. This doesn't mean you can start discussing that whatever here. Last warning to everyone to go on topic: arguments about why people that are in VM should still post at the forums (about anything) or shouldn't. Gratitude.
  13. I confirm. I consider this report obsolete.
  14. @Alex please have a look at it. @MaliciousOnion thanks for the report.
  15. hides posts Ok, you can go back to being on topic. P.S. I would like 20 credits for my services.
  16. @Will this is a no discussion subforum. Unless you are related to this event and have something useful to state for the "investigation", please refrain from posting. Thanks.
  17. ... It looks like the initial report is obsolete, so I will lock the thread. Also, you should ALL be ashamed of yourselves... :<
  18. This thread is kinda in a grey area, since there is some kind of call-out e.g. towards Arrgh and some warning towards every direction or whatever... This one can stay here, but next ones should be clearly about Alliance Affairs. In any case, glad to see Goons being excited about using the forums and creating content. I hope you get to learn the ropes of where to post what soon enough.
  19. Oof... At least you didn't do it on purpose. Thanks for being community-friendly. Have fun.
  20. Hi Edward. You should be fine now. Let me know if that's not the case.
  21. There is no need to get this thread to 30+ pages. This is a no discussion forum and only members related to the reports should be posting here. I think that both sides have made their point. I will personally ask Alex about this issue.
