  1. Nice to see someone put so much effort and Roleplay into a theme these days. Good luck!
  2. I wasn't specific enough, I was more focused on the broad stroke comments about the community as a whole, and less about anything Alan testified of himself personally. The difference, primarily, between him and the people he is upset with, at this point in time from my perspective, is self awareness. Broken clocks, twice a day, yada yada.
  3. The quality of the folks spending their time here to argue Alan, and the fact that some of them can't manage it without leaning on casual misogyny as a crutch, in public on the forums (not that a discord shitpost of it would be classier), is all the testimony anyone anywhere needs to know that, regardless of Alan's own vast and varied faults... He didn't miss with a single one of those points.
  4. So, two whale focused projects, I am a whale, I guess we can consider this a market survey of the intended customer. $1,207,200,000 for the first project. $833,750,000 for the second. About 2b in total. More or less city 40 for me. Yeah no I'll take the city. You can just keep these tbh, nuke turreting isn't enjoyable (and never was), the part where someone on the losing side of wars could do anything more interesting or enjoyable than login once a day are long, long gone. I mostly don't even bother. Hell, I don't even remember to have to decide not to bother to begin with, because it's just so goddamn boring. Might as well just lock my account for a month, same level of activity just about lol.
  5. Holy shit will the mods please mute this fool? All he does is spam nonsense nobody understands.
  6. What in the cinnamon toast !@#$ just happened?
  7. World War One? ... I don't like where this is going.
  8. This is the first war in years I'm please to be a part of instead of inconvenienced! Thank Singularity for this life changing opportunity!
  9. Ah, good, the Hazbin Hotel references are already starting.
  10. Nevermind that basic thought experiments destroy any claim to unbiasedness anyway. If indeed, the reporter, who is also gov, is an unbiased and journalist and would report any juicy information he comes across. Then why are your gov channels not constantly leaking? Is that not bias? There's a literal fricking reason that the most basic tenant of Ethics in Journalism and Integrity is that reporters should have no involvement in politics at all. This is why. That CB was entirely valid, and the people coping about it are only doing so because the conduct was not directed at them or to their detriment. Stop letting gov do this shit. Not even just for this, but like, maybe there'd be a handful less players complaining about nothing to do if there was a bright career option in journalism because the entire job crew wasn't made up of gov from major alliances, already doing some of the only actual things more interesting than logging in available to the game, lol.
  11. Personally I'd suggest crafting resource sinks actually worth acknowledging the existence of. If you resource sink provides so small a benefit I have to take down exact numbers of the before and after to notice a difference, there's not really any point in it. The extra military value gained from another city may take longer to achieve but is a lot more visible and worthwhile.
  12. So weren't I and Kastor...? You do understand this is kiddie table shit, right? It's not special, far bigger and grander has been dealt with without a new thread made for every big infodump response. Not sure why that's hard for you to grasp. Perhaps too much time spent salty at being kicked rather than thinking. Would explain how you got kicked from someplace so low bar as Rose, I suppose. Glad to entertain.
  13. They literally haven't been, but what do we know, we've only been around for 5+ years each, versus your... Six months. Yeah. Well, I for one remember when bigger rebuttals than this weren't their own forum topics. But that doesn't work for people grandstanding for attention to be knighted as the shiniest of turds.
  14. I doubt having new players raid is the problem here. Granted, maybe in the event of an alliance with very long raid tracks (Rose's is fairly long, while ASM's when I started that could be done in a couple weeks by a diligent new player), it might be a bit of a drag. Overall, however, in my experience, most new players vastly prefer the early raiding grind over what comes after. Considering we all know and have years of experience of what comes after, I'm sure we can all agree that's not an outlandish point of view for them to hold. The game as it functions is, frankly, mind numbingly formulaic and linear. This goes for raiding too, of course, but it's worth noting that that process is pretty much as good as it gets for game experience. Economically, growth starts feeling substantial around the early 20s in city count, which many large alliances raiding tracks bring you to. Project, unlike a certain newer game in beta right now, are overwhelmingly mediocre in effects compared to their costs. Nevermind the majority of newer ones are basically just meant to be resource sinks with mind bogglingly underwhelming bonuses to try and justify them as anything else. Then, of course, politically the game has been rather stagnant for years. Which, to folks who were here pre NPOLT as I was, sounds positively bewildering. For myself - and many others - at a cursory glance our current political world is... Exactly what we asked for! Yet here, many of us are, seeing a hollow granting of that wish. The most interesting thing to happen in the last... 3-4 years or so, is the current war on HS. The previous time before that where a war occurred that had anything other than the most standard, boilerplate unprovable but known to be true CB of "ur plotting" (who isn't? Be for real right now) was HS hitting CTO, and before that... Goodness me... Was it 10 day war? I think it might've been! That's wild! Primary cause of that was unresolved political drama between Myself and Sphinx causing constant escalating tensions for months. Good Lord, did we not even get past 3 before we're so far back in time I was still notable Gov and saying whatever crap in public and causing trouble? No wonder new players aren't sticking around! The economics are a boring, dreadful, intentionally designed anchor weight on you! The war is either raiding inactives or getting curb stomped and cycled/curb stomping and racing for slots to slowly chew up someone's infra while cycling! Then the politics are... Well they'd find spending an evening reading the wiki about old wars more interesting! I'd quit too if I weren't being made an ass of by the Sunk Cost Fallacy!
  15. This is why parents are told to monitor their child's Internet activity.
  16. Good. Always bewildered me why people let gov run these things while posting leaks everywhere. For a political climate designed around excessive risk aversion and gaudy flourishes to play themselves up as anything but the frightened stagnancy they are, everyone sure was happy to play with this fire for some reason. About time somebody did something vaguely interesting and burned one of the hands which so continuously touched the stove.
  17. The design team felt promising years ago when it started. Since then it's felt more and more useless and pointless over time, the current situation to me is just a public display and confirmation of what's seemed to be the case for much of its life now. Honestly even if Alex or Village were around, I'm personally of the mind that most of PW's greatest issues lie in the very core of its being, the bedrock of spaghetti code as much as ten years old now. What I'm say is, I've been convinced to properly address such things would require, essentially, making an entirely new game outright. Nothing stands forever, no matter how solid it's foundation may have once seemed.
  18. Yeah, this definitely isn't gonna work that way. Basically every major alliance and sphere has their own active big name trade market players, who'd get screwed by this. It also screws over the other normal less intense players, who overwhelmingly sell to buy offers. The only thing I see this maybe achieving is getting spheres to use the alliance marketplace mechanic. Or even just individual alliances, really. Most are big enough to do that. Hell, I used to run the Econ for a 100/100 AA. Fully Autarkic. The only interaction with the market was me selling excess. As much as 40 active members, as few as like 18. It doesn't take alot to become independent of the market in this game. For that reason, especially the above paragraph, I'm not certain it'd even be used. There's not many types of resources in PW, so it's incredibly easy for a small group to be self sufficient. There's not much scarcity either, and this would mostly just inconvenience your average player and completely wreck your typical big trader. I just... Don't see any point or real benefit? Other than, again, creating closed off sphere markers and enforcing it with this? Unless that's your objective, then... I don't really see what alliance leadership across the game gets from this. Other than their market oriented members who bring wealth to the AA being livid and possibly leaving, and everyone else being annoyed that something they barely interact with anyway got more tedious and negatively affects their income and growth. But then, everybody would do that, and it wouldn't really be much of a CB would it? It's a nice idea, I see what you're going for. I just don't think it's really going to work, at least not how you imagine, if it does anything at all.
  19. Considering who you've currently moored your ship to, even this guy would be an upgrade, honestly. Just as well for his kindness to be rebuked anyway, last thing he needs is folks with even worse judgement than resulted in this forum topic existing.
  20. Don't worry, you'll get used to Noctis' idiocy eventually. We were blessed with his disappearing for a couple years but for some reason he thought anyone wanted him back.
  21. There is already a project to defend against nukes - the Vital Defense System.
  22. When I hit C40s I got 2:1 k/ds 2775 vs 3000. Later they got 2:1 against me doing 2500 vs 2775. I also got a pyrrhic when attacking with ground and ~50% more army strength so that was cool. Well, I guess I owe an apology to Village for claiming it would be months when people started complaining. Looks like it was less than two weeks!
  23. So is TKR now. Enterprise is as much an extension of t$ as TEst is to EC, and given the latter were always counted together this shouldn't be any different. Making t$ and TKR roughly equal in score. Like, almost dead on, it's kinda weird actually.
