  1. .:Classified:. The project staff would soon find themselves sporadically shifted, as priorities began to shift. Those working on the weather control weaponization for the Citadels would be pressured to produce more efficient results, while the aircraft improvement venture would be placed on the backburner. Current capabilities would be implemented on Collective Aircraft, intending to modernize all non active aircraft within the next 6 months, while the active aircraft would be cycled out and upgraded the following 6 months. A new project, with the highest priority, would be to develop orbital defensive capabilities. Two requirements were to be met: The ability to target and destroy orbital weapons, and degrade the capability of opposing nationstates, and the ability to defend against orbital weapons(i.e. laser based weapons or kinetic basic projectiles) to mitigate or eliminate the threat posed by these weapons should destroying them be impossible or delayed.
  2. .:Classified:. As per the arrangement with the Allied States, the Citadel would lift off and depart the island of Hawaii, while the Citadels would transfer the American detainees to a single Citadel, which would then slowly descend from it's position in the air. The Acid fog around the south eastern section of the island would be dispelled, to allow the American troops on the island to withdraw. The Collective would await the Americans withdrawal from the island before continuing their campaign of destruction, while memory altering magic would be used to avoid the world knowing the truth of what happened on the island. A small force of Americans would be permitted access to the 'docked' Citadel, to allow the transfer of American citizens and troops. In the Capital of Sydney; "This situation has illuminated a glaring security flaw within our nation; susceptibility to orbital weaponry. It's imperative that we find the necessary defenses to protect ourselves from attacks such as those, as well as developing more advanced orbital combat capabilities ourselves." The Wizard King would lecture his cabinet grimly. "Yes, but for now, defusing the situation is in our best interests, especially since we had already negotiated the terms with the Allied States before MoG corp interceded. We're developing means to dramatically hinder conventional military without hindering our own. After we complete those tasks, we can begin developing defenses from orbital bombardment." Came one of the Cabinet members.
  3. The Citadel would sit just off the coast of Hawaii, at the edge of the Allied States territorial border. The Citadel would then fall into the ocean, creating a small tidal wave that would crash on the island, while fighters would be sortied to aggressively push the Allied State's borders, with several going into the border itself. Though outright conflict was to be avoided, they were to set the local forces on edge. The Citadel would deploy an acid fog around itself, as a defensive measure against naval vessels. .:Classified:. The Citadels hovering over Sri Lanka would use control weather to whip up an intense storm, hiding the island from view via satellite. While comms were jammed and ships were effectively forced to avoid the acid fog buffer zone, the Citadels would begin utilizing the Cleansing operation. The cleansing operation utilizes the Citadels to begin to cast turn undead on all those residing below. Though each mage can control only a certain n umber of undead, they can turn as many as they need, should they have the mana. As such, the citadel would begin to convert the majority of the population, and the rampant and raging undead would then begin to terrorize those that remain. In the end, it would result in the destruction of the intended area. Finally, under the guise of protecting the world from infection, the Collective would begin a purge aimed at eliminating all those infected, which is presumed to be all inhabitants of the area. This would allow the Collective military to turn the entire island into a base of operations, rather than specific sections.
  4. .:Classified:. The Collective, having crippled the Sri Lankan telecoms network, was able to eaves drop on the conversation between the Sri Lankan Government, and the Allied States. Upon monitoring the conversation, 6 missiles would be fired on the research facility that they asked for cooperation in raiding, while the Citadels would fire upon any vessel that attempted to make port on the island. Aircraft could be heard soaring around the eastern section of the island, constantly monitoring the area. Any Allied attempt to land on the eastern section of the island, or deploy forces there, would be met with a Collective fighter ordering them to ground their craft or be shot down. All Americans were to be arrested and be transferred to the Citadel, while the Citadels themselves would conduct blanket jamming, preventing communication beyond a few miles from occurring. A single transmission would be sent towards the President: The Wizard King, upon hearing the news, would dispatch a Citadel off the coast of Hawaii, deploy 3 more Citadels towards Sri Lanka, and tighten the border patrol around the mainland. The cogs of the Collective war machine would officially be activated once more.
  5. .:Classified:. The technology to cast the create weather, would a be a complex machine with a mixture of spell enhancements and sequential activation. While activating the same spell multiple times has an amplification affect, using sequential activation along with enhancement runes provides an exponential increase. As such, the device created would have multiple storage stones placed inside a tube. In the tube, are 3 amplification runes, which increase the power output of the spell without additional mana cost. The device utilizes 3 tubes, which activate in 30 second intervals to ensure effective disbursement of the spell's affects, though each cast ends the casting of the other use. Without having to maintain the spell, mana usage is decreased by 60%, while the weather itself stays naturally for over 4 minutes. This allows the potential continuously affected area to reach 50 miles at max capacity. The mana cost of max capacity, however, prevents the Citadel from continuing it's flight path, and forces it to levitate in place. Researches are current;y struggling to mitigate the damage caused by hail and lightning, which can occur naturally after the initial activation of the spell. As such, the project itself is a work in progress, though the project itself has devised a method for allowing landing during intense wind. By utilizing feather fall, it's able to slow down and balance it's velocity to a safe pace. The use of Clairvoyance and Divination in the ISR systems, has allowed for active 'radar' in even the most intense weather conditions. Ultimately, however, it's ability to perform is still limited by the pilots themselves. Work will continue towards developing and enhancing the aircraft's capabilities.
  6. .:Classified:. The increased comms chatter would, as well as further movements around the island, would raise concern among the commanders of the Collective. "It's becoming alarming, that the allied states seem to be increasing their movements on the island. We need to ensure they don't represent a credible threat to our operations. As such, I move to launch a surprise assault on their forces surrounding the island. It will risk breaking the blockade, but we cannot ignore their presence any longer." One commander spoke. "I believe the easiest solution to our problem, is to unleash Acid Fog, and utilize the storage buoys to keep the spell going for 36 hours at a time. We have enough to maintain the fog for a few weeks. It should buy us enough time to summon a few dozen rust monsters, and put their vessels out of commission. Beyond that, any further action will likely lead to a war between us and the Allied States. The king would prefer to avoid a full out war with another nation of moderate size, so I believe this is the best method." The Operation Commander informed the others before him. After murmuring among themselves, they would all eventually come to agree with the methodology. "In the meantime, we must discuss our tactics for securing Uva. Any suggestions?" "Clearly, we should bombard their key positions and then simply take the city by force. Their morale will be crushed, and victory should be swift." The greenest Citadel commander would, suggested. "I think it's a good idea to bombard key positions, but that's as far as my agreement goes. Why waste troops unnecessarily? Just use the dead to do the heavy lifting, we'll swoop in the end and decimate them." Came the commander who spoke at the beginning of the meeting. "We can only use that tactic for so long before it becomes painfully clear we're behind them. I say bombard the key positions, and use our arcane gates to deploy our troops in favorable positions. From there, we can utilize magic to eliminate the light from the sun. We'll have a distinct advantage due to our Sentinels and night vision. I suspect we will still incur casualties, but they should be mitigated over all." Came the quietest commander. "Aye, I agree with you, Vold. That is the tactic we will employ. Order the cannons to begin firing on their fortified positions, I want our troops loaded back onto the Citadel, and ready to be deployed at a moments notice. Keep our intelligence network's eyes on their movement on the streets. When they shift positions, I want our fighters to strafe and dwindle their numbers. Am I understood?" The commander ordered, before the others said 'yessir' in unison. The chatter would redirect towards supplies, where armored units should be deployed, and more... Meanwhile, a message would be played on a loop on all frequencies, saying:
  7. .:Classified:. Collective forces would diverge, and begin marching towards Trincomalee, and Uva, and would be ordered to capture every village on the way. The villages themselves would fall without a fight, not having the soldiers or resources to do so. The soldiers in the villages were ordered to, upon visual confirmation of Collective troops, retreat and conduct raids on the supply lines that the Collective would need to ensure a steady fighting force. This decision was based on a misunderstanding of Collective tactics; as supplies would be flown down to stationed troops from the Citadels, preventing the soldiers from effectively disrupting them from outside the villages or cities. The Sri Lankan Eastern Command, which had composed itself out of necessity, had begun to organize fortifications in preparation for the impending siege. As the Collective's forces arrived at Uva, the Sri Lankan forces had constructed makeshift barricades out of civilian's furniture, threw nails around the ground to pop tires, set up make shift IEDs, and had constructed a number of smoke stacks out of tires to blind helicopters and recon vehicles. Trincomalee, however, would not have time enough to prepare for the impending assault, and the Collective forces would happen upon them beginning to build the barricades. The Collective would order the bombardment of Uva, while the forces at Trincomalee would be ordered to begin assaulting the city. The forces in the west had begun a march of their civilian population, taking 430,000 civilians to the outskirts of the capital of Kandy, and abandoning 113,000 civilians in the undead infested cities. Upon entering the outskirts, the politicians ordered them to establish fortifications around the city, in preparation for an attack from the Collective, as the civilians would be covertly used as human shields to protect the main city. The Sri Lankan government would dispatch send a message towards the American forces conducting a blockade around their nation. The message would say:
  8. .:A Brief History of the Nation:. The Collective's History begins during the 15th Century, when the Europeans began persecuting Mages all across the continent. A bloody war waged in which the Church supplanted Mages as the advisors to kings and queens. Kings and Queens, fearing their immortal soul, turned towards religion to be their eternal salvation, forsaking former pursuits of immortality in the flesh, which in itself was a fruitless endeavor. As they did so, the Church utilized their newfound influence to conduct inquisitions, and butcher those wielding magic, proclaiming them as devil worshipers, and evil creatures. The result, caused the Guild of Mages to migrate to a place that, they believed, would save them from persecution. They traveled the silk road, making it to a nation called China, where the Collective would establish a home for 90 years, aiding the Chinese in the realms of education, and later being referred to as Jesuits. But this, too, would come to a close, as the British East India Trading Company would enforce it's influence, and teams of papal warriors would be dispatched to hunt down mages under the guise of them being 'pirates'. As many countless deaths would ensure, the Collective would once again pick up and move towards a new land they would call home. This new land would be called Australia; and it was a fairly deserted and vast island. The Mages here would come under a single banner, henceforth known as the Mages Collective. This Collective would begin pursuing destructive magics, to create weapons that would assist them in destroying those that would dare to attack them. After 36 years on the island, the first Citadel was made. The Citadel would be equipped with cannons that amplified spells cast into it, would house thousands of Sentinals(Golems that would repaid themselves up to 3 times after being destroyed), and utilize leyline magic to keep it afloat. The first Citadel would be used to devastating affect on the local tribes, as the Collective would unite them one by one. Once they did so, schools and universities would be established, and they would use magic to help the locals grow food, build structures, clean water, and much more. The island nation itself would flourish due to the abundant resources and the knowledge that the locals would be equipped with. Fearing the Church would pursue them one day, the Collective Magistrate begun to expend his resources creating 4 additional Citadels. The Magistrate himself utilized divination magic, which allowed him to peer into the future. He foretold a great war with a more China. In this vision, the Collective would wield many Citadels, and they would be lead by a king. Shortly into his term, he declared himself the Wizard King, and eliminated the regional feudalistic Magistrate system. The King would have authority over all, and he would pursue the expansion of Magical knowledge and the development of the Collective. Secretly, he would begin enchanting the water supply with low level magic on a vast scale, infusing it with magic from the leyline. This would result in an explosive growth in the number of magic wielders. Within 4 generations, there were more people that could wield magic than those that couldn't. As such, a serious shift in the classes of the society formed, and an emphasis on magical capability was born. Those without it, were forced to populate the lower class, and provide manual labor for those that did. After 3 Wizard Kings had come and gone, and the fleet of Citadels had grown to a size of 31, an empowered China had renamed itself the Southern Asian Republic. In 1942, the Southern Asian Republic declared war on the Collective. The Wizard King, Taelus Myre, was new to his position, and upon the declaration, sought out the glory of battle. But this was a new era, an era not of the sword, but of the gun. The Sentinels that the Mages were so proud of, would not be as effective against guns as they were against swords, and the tactics of sending them directly to the front lines to fight soldiers would result in heavy losses. Mages were a prized commodity, and were rarely sent into the front lines. As such, the initial stages of the war were filled with a collection of losses from the Collective. The new found artillery would bring the Citadels crashing from the sky, and the planes would rain death from the previously uncontested sky. The Collective would lose 11 Citadels and 13,000 Sentinels in the first 3 months of the war, and would begin to turn towards previously forbidden magics. Summing demons to spawn meatshields, cursing the Republics crop fields, and poisoning their water supply, the Collective would begin doing everything in their power to degrade the Republic's capabilities. As their civilian death toll began to reach the millions, a cease fire was negotiated, and the Collective would secure a shaky peace for the next 60 years. After 60 long years of a shaky peace agreement, the Collective had built a new fleet of Citadels, and this time plotted to deal a crushing blow. A fleet of 60 Citadels, each containing 112 airplanes, 4,000 Sentinels, 2,000 Magic Knights, and up to 450 armored vehicles, would prepare for war and begin congregating towards the far north of the island nation. The strategy was to rapidly capture the outlying islands of Malaysia and Indonesia, push into and capture Singapore, Bangledash and Vietnam, and then bombard the Chinese homeland, until their eventually surrender. The plan started out with great success, as the Republics navy was crippled in the bombardment of their major ports in Singapore and Indonesia, by Collective bombers striking from low orbit. Their lack of sophisticated aerial defenses in their outlying territories proved to be their undoing, as a subsequent invasion of the territories saw their fall within the first 2 months of war. The Asian Republic surrendered both Malaysia and Indonesia, and fortified their southern flank in Vietnam. The Collective would attempt to bombard their defenses again with the stealth bombers, but meet heavier resistance from the intricate defenses in place. The initial invasion would see the loss of 8 Citadels, as the Republic fired their artillery at them, and their SAM's decimated the Collective airforce. Even still, the swarm of Citadels would see Vietnam fall into the Collective's hands. The Collective would accept these losses, and then begin to consolidate their power and push further into the Republic. It was then that the weakness of the Collective was made apparent; their lack of a threatening ground force. The force itself faired well against the Republic's troops, but the more advanced artillery would prove too hard to handle, as they chipped away at the Collective's forces. Due to the intense aerial defenses, the Collective could not user air support to degrade the artillery or armored forces. As casualties began to mount, the king would authorize the use of Raise undead on his own troops, which were ordered to infiltrate enemy lines. As a Magic Knight Captain killed the regiment, they would rise again as undead zombies, and begin carving a path through the Republic's territory. The Collective, seeing the devastating results of the undead on a densely populated area, would withdraw and establish a buffer zone, losing a sizable number of their own troops. The conflict would see it's official conclusion, as Republic would broker a cease fire, ceding the island provinces of Malaysia and Indonesia to the Collective, and having Vietnam and Singapore returned to them. After the peace was agreed to and the Collective withdrew from mainland asia, the Republic's forces conducted a purge of city sections, resulting in an estimated 12 million casualties on the Republic's side, and 1.4 million on the Collective's side.
  9. .:Classified:. The Sri Lankan airforce would be rendered immobile within the initial stages of the conflict, while their aerial defenses would be eliminated on the eastern section of the island. As the Collective Pilots rushed over towards the western aerial defenses, they would begin to encounter heavy resistance, and were ordered to withdraw, while missiles would be fired at the existing defenses to weaken them. Until the, the Collective airforce would continue to operate in the eastern section of the island with impunity. With the command structure for the Sri Lankan military decimated, local officers would begin taking command. While this allowed for the surviving martial forces to continue their fight, it proved to ensure a lack of a united strategic goal, opening the door for the Collective's forces to overwhelm existing forces. With the politicians taking charge of the military command, 8,000 of the sri lankan forces deployed to the western cities were to be redeployed to protect the capital of Kandy. As the forces withdrew, the undead that had begun to be put under control, were once again overwhelming the existing forces. Lacking the manpower and resources, the soldiers remaining in the cities began a mandatory evacuation towards the outskirts of Kandy. "If we bring the civilians to the outskirts of the capital, the government will be forced to send us troops to deal with the issue, rather than continue to ignore it." A colonel explained to his subordinates. "This is probably the only way they're going to send us the reinforcements that we need to save these people. Those too obstinate to come with us, will be left to fend for themselves. I will not continue to waste lives on people that have no regard for their own." "Of course, sir... But what about the Collective?" A lieutenant probed the man. "We need to focus on one threat at a time. Their entire basis for being here is to purge this infection. If we remove their reason, then they will be forced to withdraw or face the world's ire. Additionally, if we can't even protect our people, we do not deserve to have a nation" The colonel told them, a resolute expression on his face. Meanwhile, the city of Botticaloa was officially taken over by Collective forces, with the final sri lankan soldiers having retreated, or died during the siege of the City Hall, where the last 300 Sri Lankan soldiers bunkered down. The siege for the building itself lasted for just over 31 hours, and saw the death of 21 magic knights and 12 sentinels.
  10. "I see, I'm sure we can open up our universities to those of your people who show an innate gift for magic. The Collective's primary goal is first and foremost the collection of knowledge. More minds working towards building that knowledge can only ever help. Permitting them into the universities will require they publish their findings with the Collective, which will then censure it as necessary. There are dangerous magics in this world that we keep classified in certain tiers. If particular spells became public, it would result in global tragedy. Likewise, we would like to negotiate a Technology Sharing Agreement, to further our knowledge not just in the arcane, but in all aspects. It has become apparent to us, that while our nation prefers isolation, colonialism is a prevalent threat to our interests. As such, regional allies will be critical in deterring any who would trespass upon our territorial claims. The Collective has no interest in venturing beyond the Pacific/Indian oceans, and would happily agree to a such terms." The wizard king would tell the diplomat, while guiding her towards a large, yet empty banquet hall. The tables themselves had been lined with food, and unseen servants would toil away at their duties.
  11. The ambassador would be ushered into the micro plane through a portal in the Royal Palace. Upon traversing through, the diplomat would find themselves on a narrow pathway towards a grand castle. "I would strongly advise not stepping beyond the path. You will find things that have long since been banished from our world." One of the guards said before pushing the diplomat towards the castle. Once there, 2 behemoth stone statues opened a set of doors for the diplomat to walk through. "Welcome to my abode. I'm the Wizard King, Taelus Myre. I heard your corporation desired to speak with me. How many I be of service?" The man before her asked, his robes engulfed in a black flame, swaying in the breeze.
  12. "The only cure is death; they will never again lead a healthy life, and have the potential to turn feral at any moment, If you care for the other men on your vessels, we suggest you terminate them immediately. Your help in the form of a blockade is appreciated. It's become clear to us that the current regime in power only cares for their own power, and not the health of the world around us. As such, we've been forced to engage the primitives in combat. Until the Sri Lankan regime surrenders to the Collective, we will have no choice but to conduct a war of attrition." .:Classified:. Hours after military bombardment, the Collective used their Arcane Gate to create a portal down below. As they did so, a force of 3,000 Sentinels and 1,500 Magic Knights poured into various positions across the city. What remained of the besieged Government forces were scatted and disorganized, and proved to be easy pickings to the unified force rapidly capturing their most fortified positions. Smoke could be seen rising all across the city, while the dead below slowly began to rise and attack the government forces exclusively. The first target the Collective forces secured and destroyed, were the telecommunication networks, followed by military checkpoints/arsenals, government buildings, and public shelters. All over the island, the Collective bombers were ordered to strike the known aerial defenses, rendering the island defenseless against the ongoing assault, while the Collective fighter aircraft were ordered to destroy the 3 Sri Lankan airfields, followed by civilian telecom centers, power planters, water treatment plants, and then any and all military equipment in view of the aircraft. The intended goal of this rapid onslaught was to diminish their offensive capabilities in a single hit, and then follow through with a bloody siege that the Collective expected to take no more than 2 years. As the Sri Lankan command filed into the bunker that would serve as their command center, many bore the looks of hopelessness. "We have come here today, to discuss the strategy for surviving this war. What say those here?" A man asked, shortly after everyone in the room had taken a seat. "At this point, the only chance that the Sri Lankan nation has to to surrender to the might of the Collective. If it is done now, and not later, then the Wizard King might surely be willing to offer us some leniency? Right" A man cried out, his face contort with an insurmountable fear. "Perhaps we could have a helpful suggestion?" The man replied, not even paying the man a second glance. "Yes, die." Came a voice from a shadow. Angry, the crowd would turn to discern who spoke, only to find an astral projection. "You walked into this place believing it was your bunker, and thinking you were safe. You were not. An illusion was made so that you went into the door on the right, not the left. Why? Because there was no door to the right in the design of your previous building. This is a mimic. A creature that uses illusion to lure you in, and then devours you. Goodluck, my friends, in this house of horror. For even if you escape, you will find your tomb in nearly 2 miles of dirt and stone." The voice said, before the projection vanished, leaving behind a group of faces that were agape in horror..
  13. .:Classified:. The Energy Improvement Projected was dubbed a success, and the Collective would be dispatched towards MoG Corp in an effort to secure a steady supply of steel to ensure the modernization of power plants. The goal was to implement 6 of the facilities over the course of the next 5 years, to make that the dominate form of energy at 64%. The Dragon's Breath Project was also labeled a success, and the improvements to the firing mechanisms would be rotated through each Citadel's arsenal, implementing the improvements by the end of the year. This dramatic increase of strike capabilities would dramatically improve the offensive capability of the Collective. The completion of the missile projects Haedron and Deidra have been forwarded towards the Defense Department. Haedron, the invisible warhead, was labeled widely as a success for it's cheap price tag and general effectiveness. Deidra, however, has had mixed results amongst the department, and will be put into slowed production. It's effectiveness with deploying warheads is successful, though the warheads themselves have demonstrated minimal results. The Development team would be ordered to develop a payload capable of increasing the effectiveness of the weapon. The researchers involved had begun testing Negative Energy Burst as a payload potential. New Projects being implemented are: Weaponized Control Weather for Citadels. The intended use is to degrade radar through intense rain and heavy storms, as well as deter land, naval and aerial invasions or attacks. Standard Control Weather magic is only viable for 5 miles, project parameters is to double the effective range. In conjunction with the other project, the Collective researchers are being tasked with improving aerial capability and opperability during intense weather. Control weather allows for a number of defensive capabilities on it's own, but pairing with aircraft opperability will ensure enhanced offensive capabilities.
  14. The Citadels began moving towards the island nation, positioning themselves for the initial bombardment. Thousands of conventional knights, and a large number of autonomous golems would be seen scurrying around the island. "We're going to need to invade soon, if we intend to do so under the guise of containing this potential infection. They're handling it better than we thought. I wanted to use it to sow more chaos and discord in their ranks, but they're a bit better organized than we had initially believed." The Citadel commander told a Collective Magistrate. "Very well, you can put the plans into motion. But, I must ask, how will you degrade their command structure? Surely that is a priority if our numerically weaker force is to prevail." The Magistrate responded, taken aback by the swift shift of events. "It's being handled. The Captain of the Panthers is already in position, " The commander told him as he continued to walk. The Sri Lankan regime had dispatched a total of 11,000 soldiers and 2 armored regiments towards the 3 cities under siege. An additional 8,000 soldiers have been deployed to the capital, in an effort to ensure the safety of the government. With the presence of even more troops, the undead themselves had begun to utilize ambush tactics; waiting for smaller patrols to pass by in order to attack. With the fresh deployment of troops, the command structure for the Sri Lankan military would schedule a meeting to organize a more careful response to the current events. The Magic Knight Captain awaited his prey patiently, stationing his men in their meeting spot before it was even properly determined. The strategy outlined was to wait for them to congregate at their home location, and cut the head off of the snake... The 4 citadels would begin firing their cannons at the city; targeting known government and military locations. A flurry of 140 cruise missiles would be launched from the Citadels, though none were able to visible discern where the missiles were during their flight. The civilians would see explosions emanating from seemingly nothing, while fireballs would engulf vast sections of the city. The fire would not burn itself out; water did not work and nor did large amounts of soil. It simply continued to burn, while the Collective continued to bombard their intended targets. The fire would act as barricades, heavily limiting their movements, and funneling them in the ways that the Collective desired. This gave the Collective distinct advantage while deploying forces; allowing them to establish effective ambushes with their aerial view, which also acted to impair Sri Lanka's intelligence satellite. The sight that followed was one deeply ingrained into the citizens below; a wave of hundreds of aircraft would sortie off of the Citadels, and begin to flock towards military installations all across the island. Their targets were anti-air battlements, radar stations, weapons depots, and military outposts. A message would go out on all bands of communication:
  15. .:Classified:. In a Citadel in low orbit; "Alright, we will deploy 11 liches into the territory using basic teleportation. The liches have been given enchanted rings to make them appear as normal humans, allowing them greater maneuverability. These enchantments will permit them to alter their appearance once per day, should they be suspected. Their orders are to raise a force of undead large enough to ravage the civilian population. As the dead kill more people, they will expand their numbers. The objective is to force the Sri Lankan forces to engage a majority of their forces in the western territories, allowing us an easier invasion of the east. I will be deploying the 3rd Magic Knights Squad, the Striking Panthers, to degrade the command structure of the Sri Lankan government during the process of this assault. What I need you to do, is provide support for evacs and redeployments. You are our warp magic users, and will be vital to our missions success. Any questions?" The Citadel Commander asked them. The response was a resolute silence, as they shuffled into their positions. In the Sri Lankan Provincial capital ;Kandy "We've noticed an increased military presence in the area from the Collective.I would strongly recommend we strike them first, before they can launch the initial engagement." One of the governors from the eastern provinces declared to the crowd. "We, as a nation, do not possess a sizable army; nor a particularly capable one. If they attack us, the world would condemn them. It would be possible, then, that we could petition for global intervention. For now, recklessly attacking a potential adversary with no credible intelligence, is being an aggressor. Their military is not technically violating ours, and they have a history of disputes with the Southern Asian Republic." Another man declared blankly. "He raises a fair point. We have no information, and limited offensive capabilities. I would encourage patience and prudence, over rashly acting out of fear. If they intend to attack us, there will be preludes to such an event." Another man would chime in, still seated. The discussion would drag on for several hours, before news footage would be released; The footage would show the carnage of the city of Colombo's streets, as regular citizens appeared to be viciously attacking others. "The footage we're showing you now is just what we've been able to catch on film. It's been turned into a veritable warzone out here, with everyday people killing and seemingly infecting others. It all started about 3 hours ago, where local authorities say some kinda of plague originating from rats, infected a group of homeless. Since then, what was an estimated 230 infected has climbed to 1,457, and the total dead is tallied at over 2,000. These events have been replicated in 2 other cities, although the exact scale of the damage is unknown. Authorities stress that you should stay in your homes, while local law enforcement raises militias to deal with the infected. We strongly encourage everyone to barricade themselves in their home and keep the news on to stay updated. Authorities are assuring us that they're getting the situation under control." The group congregating in the room went eerily quiet, as they watched their cities descend into chaos and flame...
  16. Then since most of those islands are treated generally as 1 tile, I'll take em
  17. "The collective has come to a consensus that it's security is at risk. We believe this, because we lack a credible information gathering network around our territories. As such, the Wizard King has ordered the subjugation of certain islands to begin immediately. The purpose of this mission is to establish Over the Horizon radar stations, undersea listening posts, and airfields around critical travel ways. We will utilize these installations to monitor any significant movement by any martial force. To reinforce this intelligence network, we will begin work on replicating satellites used by other nations.Any questions?" The chairmen of defense directed towards the room. "Sir, should we really be expanding our territory right now, with a terrorist syndicate still operating in our own territory? Surely, they should be the focus of our efforts for the time being?" An officer in the crowd inquired. "You raise a fair point; but answer me this: Which group has a larger pool of resources? A terrorist group that has been under increasing pressure and multiple raids, or a nation state living in peace and operating with impunity? The terrorists will not be eliminated as a threat, nor will we allow them to act without reprisal. However, neither front will eat up the resources needed to accomplish our goals.the regimes we intend to overthrow are weak. The only regime with any weight is Sri Lanka, with a population of 21 million. Of which, only 23,000 are soldiers. They have no modernized equipment, and no allies." The chairmen of defense chided the officer. "When do we begin?" Another, much older, officer asked. "We have already dispatched a citadel to Iwo Jima, Kiribati, and St Matthews Island. Only one of the islands, iwo jima, is populated. A base will be established at each island, and the population on iwo jima will be offered passage to another place, or to continue living on the island, under the Collective's rule. The operation to capture Sri Lanka, will begin within a month." The chairmen of Defense instructed. "And I have ordered 4 of the Magic Knight Captains to deploy their squads with 2 battalions of knights. The overall initial landing deployment will equate to 10,000 knights, 4 citadels, 80 Type 12s, 4 viper bombers, 12 R12s, 250 MFV42 MBTs, and 460 PUMAs. The forces will use the citadels in conjunction with the aircraft, to barrage the coastal defenses. Once the area target area is softened, the armored units will be deployed, followed by the knights. The battalions will capture Botticaloa, and then diverge towards two separate targets; the first will march north, and secure Trincomalee, and its surrounding towns, while the other battalion will march south, and capture uva and it's surrounding towns. When we have effectively eliminated potential resistance, both groups are to march towards the center of the island nation, and capture the capital of Kandy. Understood?" The Wizard King announced, seemingly appearing out of thin air. "Yes, my lord!" Came a wave of voices, as the officers of the crowd saluted to their ruler... .:Classified:. "So,is the weapon prepared?" The wizard king asked the chairmen of defense, as they stood alone in the king's office. "Yes, sir. It will become obvious to the outsiders of the world that this was our doing, though, my lord. Is that an acceptable issue?" He asked in response. "We've battled the Southern Asian Republic for 4 decades, capturing much of what use to be referred to the province of Indonesia. They did not intervene then, they will not do so now. Once the dead begin rising from their graves in mass, we will launch our attack. Much of their force will be quelling the undead in the western population zones. They will not be able to stop us. The more that died, the more weapons we have to use against them. If we must retreat, ensure they do not survive, Chairman." The King told him sternly. "Very well, my lord" He'd say as he exited the room.
  18. I'd like to claim St Matthews Island (Off the coast of alaska), Kiribati, and Iwo Jima(central southern pacific) for this month. I can't access anything to edit the map. however, so I can't provide the colored in tiles. Since kiribati and st matthews aren't even a single tile, I'd like to use the rest on the coast of Sri Lanka
  19. The Zepplin would be shadowed by a Citadel, where those on board would begin hearing a though in their head that was not their's. "You have called for a means of communication, and intrigued the Wizard King. You will be invited to the great magical capital of the world, Sydney. There, your diplomat will travel to the micro plane where the kinds fortress lies. You will be permitted a standard guard detail of 6 individuals." .:On Board The Citadel:. "The invitatiin has been transmitted via message, sir. We won't be able to follow them further without deviating from a leyline. To preserve our mana, I wouldn't advise continueing." The small, plain looking officer, fold the captain. "Yes, we will continue the regular patrol. Be prepared for anything; I don't want the terrorists trying anything."
  20. .:Syndey Capital Building:. "Two more mana receptacles were sabatoged this month, sir. Our mana collection is down 11%. It's not going to dramatically affect us, but if this continues we could end up seeing the ramifications." One of the minister informed the King. "Aye, we can't allow this to continue. So, clearly we must do something to draw out the offenders. Any ideas?" The king proved those sitting within the room. A Magic Knight Captain, clad in a deep blue robe, would reply, " They like the afflicted, right? We stop the covert purging. Eliminate the remaining ghettos under the guise of a series of terrorist attacks, referencing the attacks by Solis Sanctum." The Magic Knight Captain Aurora Boismortier. "An excellent proposition. We will move to execute the plan in a months time, so we will mobilize the knights. We will send the regulars to attack the ghettos, while we utilize the Citadels to fortify critical locations. The squads will be kept in reserve to be deployed as needed. Is this plan agreeable?" The king inquired to the room. Those residing in the room would quietly nod in agreement, as everyone's minds began to deliberate on the potential aftermath. One specific individual in the room, saw this as an opportunity. Not for glory, but to further their own ends. 'Should this go over poorly to the public, they will seek a new king. I can utilize my allies clout to take the crown from the fool. Should he keep favor, I will have quietly supported him from the background.'
  21. Collective Research Facility "We've been having substantial success in energy creation, sir. Initially we created 2 Gates that would teleport the stream of water from the bottom back to the top. This would then turn the water wheel, which would then turn the turbines, producing energy. Even on a leyline, using Gates is costly, mana wise, so we'd only be able to do a few turbines. But by transfering to Dimensional Door, were able to utilize significantly less mana to achieve the same results. Utilizing a leyline hitspot, we could easily have 40 turbines producing enough energy for 75% of a city. Utilizing this technology, we could drastically reduce our dependency on coal and oil. The cost of one of these facilities would likely end up around 349 million however. Additionally, it requires a lot of steel, which we do not produce a lot of, sir." One of the researchers explained to the Collective Magister sent to check the projects status. "This is excellent. We have the resources to produce steel, just not the facilities. For now we can seek the resources from foreign entities while we build the facilities, if that's what the King should decide. Very good." He would say simply as he began walking towards the next room. There was a small canon mounted to the floor, with a mage standing bbehind it. The mage would cast his spell(Fireball), into the cannon, where a small area blurs as of a glass pane had fractured. The fireball could be seen unleashing it's torrent 30 ft behind the mage. "Test 1 is a success. The magic is not destabilized when going through a dimensional door. Range limit is estimated at 40 miles, thanks to the 4 glass amplification runes. If we incorporate the Clairvoyance targetting system, this weapon will dramatically inprove our artillery." The mage spoke into his record, recording his thoughts. "Excellent, my friend. The King should be very pleased with your progress. Wrap this project up quickly and you could see an increase in your funding." The Magister commented before dutifully going toward the final project. The final project had been going on for 8 months with no progress and many failures. It had eaten most of its budget, and had 3 months to produce results before being ended. The project in question was an invisible cruise missile with teleportation(dimension door) capabilities to evade and strike enemy targets in fortified locations. The missile was unable to be invisible and teleport simultaneously, as it overloaded the missile and detonated as a result. Even while invisible, the missile produced signals, so radar tracking methods still work. The teleportation did not make up for it's lack of speed, and ultimately made it more of a target. Thus, orders were made to produce two separate missiles: The first, was an invisible missile that was cheap and could be mass produced. This would nullify proximity fuses that kill large numbers of missiles through fragmentation. (These generally have to match an image while using radar to confirm target before detonating. Choosing only 1 delivery method endangers civilians.) The second, was a warhead designed to use dimension door to evade advanced missile defenses. These would emphasize speed over anything else, and would be either kinetic projectiles or nuclear warheads. "How is the project going, Yurich?" The Magister asked with a frown. "The type one was successful. Making missiles invisible is a simple matter. The type 2 has eluded me. I've used a complex sequence of weight reduction magic and speed enhancement magic, but the fastest I can simulate these.missiles is mach 3. It's not fast enough to evade modern air defenses, even with the dimension door magic. We could, in theory, simply use a gate, but the longer the distance, the more unstable the gate. It could cause the warhead to detonate before it even entered, causing damage to our own equipment and staff." The man told him. "Do you want me to report a partial success, then?" The Magister inquired. "No, I still have 3 months and I desire to continue this avenue of research. It must be possible." The man insisted. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Though the ghetto had been completely purged, an effort was made to repair the damage done to the area. The intent was to make it appear as though the population had simply relocated. After several days of effort, they would finally complete their project before dispelling the walls. "I'm glad they're finally gone," a local man was recorded saying. "It should improve the value of my house once they start taking it down." On the news, it was widely announced that the population had been relocated to the Sydney ghetto, where a sharp decrease in non magical civilians had been discovered. Little did the civilians know that was a result of systematic kidnapping of families, where they were quietly eliminated. The capital, Heralded as the magic capital of the world, could not be seen as having a high number of non magical civilians.
  22. Alexander dragged the half dead mage towards the center of the roof, where his voice boomed. "Mental Prison," was all that came out, and the opposing mage went completely limp. "How is the operation, Squad Leader?" Alexander called out using message. "43% of the ghetto has been purged thus far. No major resistance to mention. No casualties on our end, but we'll have plenty of undead for labor when we need it, sir. The Ghetto had a population of 26,000." The squad leader called back. "Vice captain, We need to finish things on our end, or well be outdone by the regulars. We are magic knights, and I refuse to be upstaged." He swapped to his subordinate, his voice containing urgency. "We've captured 2 more, captain. Only 1 remains, but he's estimated to have the mana of a captain. I've ordered the men to recon, but not engage." Virgil told him. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 'I've accomplished what I needed to, time to get out.' Thought a rather talk man, wearing a mask and wearing a rather tattered garb. "Tell everyone to use the defensive rings they were given." He calmly instructed as he retrieved the data drive. As he did so, he vanished in an instant. All around the magic knights, the 12 prisoners vanished in a bright purple light. Once the light faded, the prisoners had disappeared. In front of the masked man, his comrades laid beaten and bloody. 4 had died from their wounds, 3 were unresponsive, and the other 5 were badly wounded. "It seems you had rough time, I apologize for what you endured. We sustained substantial losses, but we were able to accumulate footage of their atrocities and data on 2 of the collectives facilities. I imagine they used Mental Prison on Aldreich, Ainz and Svet. I'm not sure we have the power to break it. Yvette, please take them to the infirmary and make them comfortable. Baris, Nadia, Xavier, and Talos will be burried. The rest of you should have your wounds tended by Fana; we will not take this assault lying down, I assure you." The masked man told them, his voice shaking in frustration. "Of course, Lord Harmon. We will make that blood stained king pay for his crimes." The one called Yvette told him vigorously.
  23. Aircraft - TPJ Type 12 The design utilizes the spell fly, in conjunction with speed enhancement magic Expitious Retreat to create an aerial vehicle capable of reaching speeds of 1,084 mph. While it is substantially slower than modern aircraft, it uses the clairvoyance spell to display where the opponent would be in the next 10 seconds, weapons to direct area of affect magic, and enchantments to create up to 5 small scale magical barriers. Should all else fail, the aircraft can ise an emergency Teleport spell to flee from combat, but doing so uses 1/4th the vessels stored mana. The Viper Bomber The bomber reaches low orbit, covered in Invisability. While it can still be detected by radar, any visual confirmation is improbable. The vehicle utilizes the spell, meteor swarm, to bombard target positions. The vehicle uses teleportation to reach require height, and fly to maintain it. It is capable of using 5 Meteor Swarms before being forced to return. The vehicle reaches speeds of 530 mph. R12 Recon Drone A risen Ghoul is mind controlled by a pilot, and is subsequently put into the aircraft. The aircraft uses Invisability and Non Detection magic. It records information on the surroundings. Visual, audio(to some extent), leyline movement, mana readings, temperature, elevation, etc. The cheap cost of the vehicle allows it's frequent use while scouting. It is considered the most modern recon plane amongst the collective. Artillery - The Collectives only artillery system utilizes an extended barrel, with small glass panels along the length of it. These amplify the power of a spell, dramatically improving the range and damage of basic magic spells. Research is currently underway to open a small teleportation gate to fire the spells through, which would drastically improve the range of the spell. Armored vehicle - The MFV42 Main Battle Tank This vehicle utilizes a number of defensive enchantments(Mage Armor, Barkskin, and Shield of Faith spells) as well as 1.5 inches of adamantite armor, the vehicle is capable of withstanding Clashing Rocks. On the top is a large cannon, utilizing 4 glass amplification panels to enhance the destructive capability of a mages spells. On the top of the cannon, is a small weapon with 3 glass separation panels. The operation panels weaken the spell of the caster, but turns a single spell into 2. Firing low level spells would permit a continuous fire from the weapon. The Puma Infantry Vehicle The Puma contains what is referred to as a micro pocket dimension. This one vehicle, the size of a standard tank, can hold 30 men in its belly. The vehicle utilizes camoflauge magic, and as such, isn't invisible but is incredibly hard to spot. It has 4 small turrets with 3 separation panels in each. If the vehicle is rupture, the pocket dimension ruptures and the vehicle collapses in on itself, killing those inside. A special countermeasure has been embedded to permit the vehicle to rapidly cast and use dimension door, for short range teleportation at minimal cost. (Teleport location must be within 30 ft).
  24. "This is the Crimson Lion squad vicecaptain, Charles Vergil, my second in command. He and 4 others in my squad will be participating in the operation." Magic Knight Captain Alexander Vermillion announced, as he bowed to the Wizard King. "Very good. I will be assigning you an additional 150 Knights, as well as a squad of 32 of our aircraft and a Citadel. You are to purge those residing in the ghetto, which will ensure those without mana cannot spread their affliction. The bulk of your forces will go there, while your elite are to target the mages in the Northern Steel Mill, where 13 mages are hiding. They're apart of the organization that insist on protecting those who lack an affinity for magic. They are a roadblock to what we are attempting to accomplish. Eliminate them, and return here." The king ordered, before dismissing them. ----------------------------------------------------------------- The floating island, shorthanded to a Citadel, moved to hover beside the ghetto. The knights would covertly establish a perimeter around the ghetto, to ensure that None would escape. They would then cast Wall of Stone in mass, rapidly creating a thick wall around their intended target. Following this, the knights would work their way to the center of the ghetto... "Virgil, you take the north entrance. I will take the roof with alpha squad and beta squad will take the back. The priority is to detain those in league with Solis Sanctum. Intelligence suggests that there are 5 here that match that criteria. Good luck, men." Alexander told them before walking off. "Do we have any Intel on what they look like?" One of the magical knights asked. "Not a shred. You will have to probe their memory with the spell Shared Memory. Each squad is assigned an Interrogator, for that very purpose. Find and detain the beligerants immediately." Alexander called back before using mass teleport. Nearly 30 minutes pass... "Captain, we've detained one on the stairwell, that makes 8." A magic knight called through an earpiece imbued with message. As the captain listened to this, an assailant lurked in the shadows, invisible to the untrained eye. However, with Alexander's powerful magic, he had developed a talent, called blindsense. He could detect creatures within 30 feet of him. He could not discern much using this talent, but it prevented assassin's from being effective. Alexander would let loose a fireball, consuming the assailant and himself in a sea of flame, encompassing a 30 ft area. When it finally died down, the assailant was breathing raggedly, fully viable to an unscathed Alexander. "Many generations ago, Maximillion Vermillion struck a pact with a Pheonix, and let it go free in exchange for it's blood. We have been blessed with an immunity to fire, and as such, I am free to use spells with such spread at no risk to myself. Surrender now, and I will not kill you. Refuse, and I will take my time with you; I have a few new spells I'd like to try any way, so either decision is fine!" The man would boom with a sadistic enthusiasm...
  25. The Mages Collective is a nation built around ones strength in mana and combat. The average individual has been either bred out or introduced and secluded into hereditary labor camps. To ensure nonmagical blood does not mix into the average population, a mere 8% of the population is non magical. The labor vamps build leyline receptacles, which are used to siphon off natural mana to be used in various Collective projects or to be hoarded in stockpiles by the Wizard King. Among the military are 11 squads that comprise the elite military force. While magical munitions and firearms have been introduced, many of the elite squads use primal melee weapons, thanks to various shield magic. The only way these mages can harm other mages is via physical weapons. Utilizing the mana, the government has constructed agriculture towers that provide the required food to support the population. Magic is also used to create stasis depots to ensure even perishable goods can be effectively stockpiled. Currently, the energy sector runs on oil and coal, but efforts are being put forward to transition into a magic-based clean 'nuclear' reactor. The government uses floating islands as military bases, where they house magical artillery, specialized aircraft, and troops. These islands can utilize their mana reserves to encompass themselves in a powerful shield to withstand up to 48 hours of bombardment. If one of these islands can successfully land and begin siphoning off of a leyline, it would be able to encompass itself indefinitely. Finally, the economy of this nation is soft socialism with some capitalist leeway permitted for foreign investments. Mostly, the Collective is a neutral, self sustaining economy, and rarely let's in outsiders. The collectives only interest abroad is to establish leyline receptacles.
