  1. No idea. I played for a few months years ago. Thanks.
  2. Hi everyone. I never did introduce myself. I joined P&W in the speedround and got scooped up by UIN. The constant warring with Lacaedemon(whatever, greek word for Spartan) and Seven Kingdoms(SK) gave me an appreciation of those alliances, and when the new round started, I joined SK. I'm a veteran of (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways), but I dabbled in some of the various other games, like OGame, Lunar Wars, etc. I choose the name Aisha Greyjoy because no one wants to be a Greyjoy. Kind of a bunch of semi-competent asshats you know? And that totally is me, semi-competent asshat. I also mispelled Aisha, demonstrating the part about semi-competent, but whatever. I'm sticking with it.
  3. Hello and welcome to Orbis. Enjoy your time in Socialist International.
  4. Seven Kingdoms also has some very excellent detailed economic analysis of the various buildings. Our nations operate with the benefit of math-driven knowledge.
  5. Power is easy to factor in. Initial cost is not as easy because you don't know how long the building will stand for.
  6. Trash talking post war leads to static sides for future wars which is boring for everyone.
  7. 500 is an ok point to get a 2nd city because you'll need another power building to exceed 500 anyway. Build your second city, get it to 500, then analyze do you want to go to 600 or 700 in each or do you want to push on to a 3rd city first. Definately before moving to 4 cities, you'll want 700 or 800 in each. These are my opinions not backed by solid math research but by my "gut".
  8. With a relatively high income now, over 500k, I find trading is generating only very modest income. The buyers and sellers are smarter then they were a month ago, and its harder to turn big profits. Plus, I need a lot more resources then I used to, so now when I buy its mostly for my own use rather then resell. But one alliance can impact prices overall quite a bit, I've no doubt. One nation alone? Maybe for a few hours, which is enough time to profit quite a bit, I've no doubt.
  9. I wouldn't worry about pollution until you pass 800 infra. I wouldn't worry about pollution that is then 40 points. If its around 40 points, I like getting a subway. If its closer to 70, get a recycling center.
  10. Yes, we need every holiday represented!
  11. And I'd want it to be the "nation opting in or out" in an effort to transfer some sovereignity back to nations.
  12. But not limiting it to officers. I'd like to see it open to all members(but maybe not applicants)
  13. I see no value in making it easier for big nations to gank small ones.
  14. 1986: A series of disastrous tests of the II-B4 bomber led to the cancellation of the contract with Wyk Industries. The CEO of Wyk Industries was taken into custody and a video confession shown on state television, whereby he admitted to stealing state funds and releasing state secrets to hostile foreign powers. After the public drowning of the entire board of directors, Wyk industries is nationalized and a new wing of II-F4a fighter-bombers begins production.
  15. Welcome to Orbis. Be sure to complete the tutorial and there's a thread to report that you have a forum account which gets you a small cash bonus from the Admin.
  16. Maybe if units had experience that was lost when more were added, and gained in battle or in training(training costs more money).
  17. Don't forget that buying land will increase your food output. You can make one city with 8 farms and just add Land. Don't even need to power it if you don't want. #1 rule, don't sell to the current market, sell where you want to be, the market will eventually come to you. At the very least, don't short a 1000 food sale to get ahead of a guy selling 25 food.
  18. Isn't that how all of the top nations got to the top? Buy Steel 1100, sell 1400, collect 300ppu profit? Wouldn't we have to embargo you too?
  19. I think it would be nice to see alliances not as the solely sovereign entities. Somewhere in Bob, we all agreed nations were not sovereign, but were citizens, and alliances were sovereign. That carried to Orbis. Adding non-alliances based organizations might help create a more fluid political structure. I'd prefer to see limited powers to such an institution. Aid to new nations, war recovery aid, embargoes, etc. Elections from the general assembly to the security council. And random events the GA or SC vote on similar to how Bob implemented color events. And membership is voluntary.
  20. Spying away resources makes some sense, but it can be really powerful. Embargo a nation, spy away their steel, and then engage in ground war? Might be too powerful.
  21. Sounds useful to me. It might also be something to display on the front page when logging in if you're in an alliance.
  22. I'd like to see an option for an alliance to officially declare war via an in-game mechanic. The benefit? Maybe alliances at war with each other can have a -35%/+100% war range instead of the current range. This would also facilitate better war ranges at the top of the spectrum somewhat.
