  1. Sheepy, I understand you are trying to mean well with this update, but you are going about it the wrong way. The last update favored whales who were already built to a large size, which mitigated the damage of it. This is only going to swing things further in their favor. The issue is that this once again favors large nations already at a large size. If their infra gets destroyed, it'll only be half as hard to grow back to the previous level. However, if a new nation comes along, they'll have to pay full price to get to the same level. What I'm trying to say is that this update will make it all the more harder for newer nations to catch up or surpass older ones, which was one of the biggest faults with (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) (tech). What drew me to this game was the ability for new nations to surpass their elders, but this update will make it harder for such to happen. If you want to reduce the price of infrastructure, go the entire way rather than just rebuild. If you wanted to implement such a mechanic, it would have been best to do so when the game launched. Now, it is far too late to do that.
  2. NO STRUMMY!!! WE NEED THE TRU KOREABOO!!!
  3. Welcome back, and please don't drop kick me. (Plz get the reference)
  4. 1. Oh, I have read the rest of the thread. It's just that I'm going to respond to the comment on the merits of that comment only. Furthermore, the market is down, but it is still possible to turn the profit. I would know this, because I AM playing the market, unlike you. Even if prices are down, there is still a gulf between the buying and selling points of each resource. 2. I fail to see how what happened in France impacts what happens here. Your solution to "fixing" the slump in the market is to incite mass violence and slaughter? I believe that is much like cutting your throat to cure a nosebleed. It'll work, but in a way that defeats the purpose of the act. And if you say this makes no sense, then you know my reaction to you bringing up France and Syria. 3. The fantastic difference that you are clearly overlooking is twofold: First, so-called richer nations have to labor under the same market. They don't get tax breaks or special treatment that Marie and Rasputin had received. If money is the issue, then your alliance may be able to provide. If not, raiding is an option if you wish to risk it, as is taking loans from a bank. The market is not the sole source of revenue. Trying to compare European monarchies to PnW is comparing apples to oranges. It doesn't make sense. 4. What on earth are you talking about? If you're worried about resources not being consumed fast enough (which is something that I noticed in the past global war), then petition Sheepy to alter resource consumption for military units instead of this harebrained scheme to just up and delete half the resources in the game. Why introduce unnecessary game mechanics when mechanics that already exist can be altered? Honestly, your entire post completely side-stepped the one question that I asked. Furthermore, your response had absolutely nothing to do with the topic on hand, which was the market. However, that last line looked like a recruiting statement. If that's the case, then please take your grievances to the alliance recruitment section, which is the place that such statements should be taken. And changing the status quo? Yeah, that isn't going to happen. BK tried that with the last global war, and while the execution was more or less poorly handled, they at least tried to change the status quo by removing OO's supremacy. They did their best to eliminate the possibility of an Oculus-like supergroup here in PnW. How were they rewarded? They were vilified on OWF, and with the Syndisphere victory in the past war, who knows what's going to happen next. KT being unaligned with IQ and tangentially aligned with Syndi may shake things up, but only time will tell. (If anyone has a problem with this paragraph, feel free to yell at me in a PM. I'd rather not derail this entire thread altogether) Let the game change the status quo by itself. Your event, even if it made sense, wouldn't do anything to change that, since everyone would be equally affected. You almost sound as if you would stand to gain if everyone lost a great deal of their war chests...
  5. First, congrats on the engagement/marriage @Buorhann. Second, basically what Alex said. Education ain't cheap, and funding isn't a valid argument. When the government really wants money for something, they always manage to draw it from somewhere, and claiming property taxes is an invalid argument as well, given that it is a holdover from the days of segregation. Furthermore, telling teachers "if you wanted to get paid more, you shouldn't have become a teacher" is a slap in the face. If the government is going to mandate that children be educated, then they better be ready to literally put their money where their mouth is.
  6. If they have that few resources, how on earth did they manage to organize and arm themselves on such a scale so that they destroyed half a nation's stockpile overnight? Also, you said a "major power" not "your nation". Why are the citizens of this imaginary power destroying your resources? Furthermore, this is could hurt the market more than help. Assuming that people don't walk away from the game cause of this event, it would cause those same people to flood the market with resources in order to recoup their losses, or they would be reluctant to buy more resources in fear of it being destroyed. This entire idea is ridiculous. So what if prices are down? They have been climbing ever slowly since the end of the last global war, and if you are that frustrated with how little your resource production is making, then invest some time and start brokering. It's a much better idea than punishing thousands of people to fix what isn't even a problem.
  7. FALSE. Hogwarts has money and a particular set of skills. In all seriousness tho, good luck finding whoever is doing this. ...I'll stop now
  8. Wow, 7th message. That has to be a new record. Good luck to you both in your future endeavors!
  9. This seems like a lot of extra work for very little, if any, return. What would be the point of this. And please don't say "cuz reality".
  10. I know this is a bit late, but it was a pleasure fighting against you in the war. My opinion of you, already decently high since you named your ruler after a RWBY character, is all the more so since you linked a Nightcore song. You take care now, and I hope to see you come back.
  11. Nothing nefarious, I assure you. I am perfectly aware that there was at least one nation in BK named 'The Knights Radiant', just as I was perfectly aware that there was at least one non-BK nation named 'Black Knights' during the war. It's just that after I saw the screenshot I understood why that was possibly done. I did not mean to imply that TKR were the only ones who did this, if that is was you meant. Right back to the topic. About three seconds to make sure that you've picked the correct option isn't too much to ask. I'd hope that people with bank access would be checking for these things. Lastly, blaming TKR for something that I've seen occur outside of TKR is a bit much. Of course, you could have not known about the last fact, so meh.
  12. So...what's the point of getting alliance insurance if wars against an alliance aren't covered? Also, I'd like to question the wisdom of naming your company after a company that is known for having been blown up. Nice spreadsheets tho
  13. Oh, so you have to enter the name manually. So that's why I saw so many "Black Knights" and "The Knights Radiant" during the war...
  14. War projects seem to be a bit of a slippery slope to me. The whole idea of not putting in a "tech" mechanic in PW was to make wars more competitive by reducing the advantage older players had. This would change down declares from a tough battle for the smaller nation to an outright slaughter. I do see where you are going in the slump in the market. While this is not a fix, and by itself is a worse scenario than we have right now, but how about a guaranteed minimum sale price for each resource? This would mean that a resource would always have a base value, and if it is sold to an NPC, it would pull that resource out of circulation altogether. The minimum price doesn't even have to be all that high. The only other thing I could think of is introducing a resource storage improvement, which would not only limit the amount of resource you can hold, but would make resources vulnerable in wars. That being said, I can already say that the idea would be hugely unpopular.
  15. The meme is strong with this one.
  16. If it was worth anything at all, it became worthless the moment you posted it for all to see.
  17. So let me get this straight: you're angry that you can't name your leader's title the same as the title associated with Hitler and Nazi Germany...because it will break immersion? So does that mean you'll complain about how infra works since it creates people out of no where? Or building cities creates one as soon as the system can process it? Or how about gasoline and oil being measured in tons I am just curious as to why it is only this particular aspect that ruins the game for you, and nothing else.
  18. Yes, that's the last thing we need. Another arms race that will once again lock out newer nations from the upper tiers of power, solely because they haven't been able to log as much time into this game as others. I appreciate that you are making suggestions, but this is just one that we don't need. What makes P&W competitive is that battlefield losses are a lot more severe than they were in (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways). Just look at how the loot system works. It doesn't help that tech was much harder to destroy than infra back in (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways). I understand you wish to place a check on this by increasing the price, but that would just set up a tech deal system in this game, which is something that I don't want to see happen. Sorry if what I wrote sounds weird, I'm a bit delirious right now.
  19. Hey man, might want to alter your price a bit. Resources can only be sold in whole units Resource Current Market Value Value Coal $1,527 $1,007,820 Lead $1,360 $ 897,600 Iron $1,481 $1,917,895 Gas $1,391 $ 969.527 Munitions $ 878 $1,278,368 Steel $1,999 $1,927,036 Aluminum $1,609 $ 828,635 Food $ 99 $ 452,727 Total: $9,279,608 Asking: $10,000,000 Markup: $720,392 Percent Markup: 7.76% As it is right now, it would cost less just to buy what you are offering from the market.
  20. Patience. Someone will come by and buy it eventually.
  21. If you still have food left and can throw 50k my way, that would be great.
  22. So military expenses spike when a nation is in war, and my revenue page reflects that. However, I noticed that when a turn passes, rather than the money I have on hand changing relative to what the revenue page says, the amount of money I have changes according to what my revenue was while my nation was not in war. I thought that this would be worth reporting, in case in had been happening to anyone else. Regards, Joel James
  23. It literally says "This is just a prank"
  24. It is an interesting strategy, at the very least. People who flock to Treasure Island will provide 20% of their boosted income (26% of current amount) as tax to Treasure Island, while they hold on to the remaining 14%. The applicant benefits from the boost, and Treasure Island gets massive amounts of tax revenue, something that they might need given that the advantage they hold is set to be nerfed next month. Kudos to you for coming up with it, but I must pass. It seems a little...disingenuous to say the very least, and seems to have some poaching undertones. Furthermore, Black Knights has done me well in the short amount of time that I have been with it, so I'll ride out the next who knows how long with them. Regards, Joel James
