  1. MT/PMT: The Imperial Kingdom of Andor Land claims: Northwestern France (Bordeaux region diagonally towards Belgian coastline), plus a French-Spanish border province to connect to a Mediterranean coast, if this is acceptable. Will perhaps enter with FT nation in a future post.
  2. Mid-System, Almarin Fleet Flagship Pegasus The Fleet had barely travelled halfway through the system before the alert chimed to indicate an incoming transmission, Admiral Stettin motioned to one of the watchstanders. "Bounce this one down to the Corporate Worlds ships, I imagine this will concern them too," she ordered, before keying to play the transmission. <<"This is Chernigov Colonial Military Command to Unidentified Vessel. Please identify the name of your Commander, number of personnel, Ship Class, Name of vessel, and intentions. Keep in mind that you are not permitted to fire upon any lifeforms on this planet, or you will face the might of the Imperial Armada.">> One of the watchstanders, a young Lieutenant, called out from his workstation "Admiral, the broadcast originated from the inhabited planet. The message mentions an Imperial Armada, however Fleet sensors aren't showing much space activity in-system, which may suggest a different means of getting reinforcements other than jump travel." The Admiral nodded. "A good assessment, Lieutenant. Ready a channel to send a reply---" Her instructions were interrupted by an urgent chime on her holo-display, followed by the image of an impeccably tailored man, his expression gruff and impatient. "Admiral, I simply must insist that you allow a Corporate team to lead the negotiations within this System! Need I remind you that we are here for mercantile reasons?" the man demanded imperiously. Stettin looked at the label on her holo-display, identifying the man as one Senior Manager Crassin. She had never liked dealing with Corporate types like him, and privately disdained the fact that her orders had essentially amounted to guard duty for a trade convoy. But she'd be damned if she let this man walk all over her. "Senior Manager Crassin, I am well aware of our objectives within this system. That being said, I will clarify this only once: I am in command of this expedition, and I will not have my actions dictated to me by you, or anyone else aboard this Fleet. You will be contacted when your trade expertise is needed and when I am confident that this Fleet is safe within this system. Not before. Are we clear?" Whatever response Crassin had been about to say, his words choked in his mouth at the bluntness of her response. After a look of incredulity, he finally uttered "Yes, Admiral... We are clear..." then cut off the communication. Admiral Stettin motioned for the Lieutenant to begin broadcasting: "To the authority identifying itself as Chernigov Colonial Military Command, this is Fleet Admiral Victoria Stettin of the First Fleet of the Almarin Expanse. I imagine your sensors have already told you the amount of ships in my Fleet. Rest assured, we do not make war upon innocent civilians. We are here as part of a Trade Exploration mission, to establish peaceful relations and trade agreements within this star system and in star systems like it. We intend to proceed in-system to a geosynchronous orbit above the inhabited world of this system, where we can better conduct any trade or diplomatic agreements with the inhabitants of this star system. Stettin out." The Almarin Fleet proceeded in-system at a steady speed, the Fleet arranging itself into a standard formation. The Fleet itself, while only a small portion of the Almarin Navy, was still a sight to behold. Over a dozen sleek Battle Cruisers and Battleships arrayed themselves on the outer edges of the formation, surrounded by smaller Light and Heavy Cruisers and Destroyer Escorts numbering around 35 total. In the centre of the Fleet formation, lumbering Auxiliary ships and Trade Freighters powered un-elegantly on their path, numbering 10 Freighters and 5 Auxiliary ships. Fleet Admiral Stettin spoke to her watchstanders, indicating for them to convey her message to the rest of the Fleet. "Let's keep this nice and simple. Shields at full, but I want weapons powered down. We don't have a reason to shoot, and I sure as hell don't want to give anyone else a reason to either. Remember people: Do the Expanse proud."
  3. Outskirts of the Orbis System - Jump Point Fleet Admiral Stettin jolted in her command seat as the ships of the Almarin Fleet exited jumpspace. The transition to normal space always did muddle the senses, but this time had been particularly uncomfortable due to the long time the Fleet had spent in jumpspace. She shook her head and tried to focus, while the Fleet conducted automated manoeuvres up and to starboard to avoid any mines which may have been laid on the projected path of the jump exit. Thankfully, the combat sensors reported no mines of any kind within at least 1 light hour of the jump exit. "Long Range Sensors updating, Admiral" the watchstanders announced. Sure enough, her holo-display updated with a vast sea of information about the system they had arrived in. She tapped one of the controls, enlarging the display and focusing on the main prize of the system: The inhabited planet. "8 light minutes out from the star, signs of significant population centres on the continental landmasses, Admiral." Stettin watched the display for a minute, then finally spoke: "Right in the Goldilocks Zone. This is it, Ladies and Gentlemen. That's our destination." She pressed several more buttons, plotting a course in-system for the Fleet. She had Lieutenants who could plot the course with ease, but she enjoyed showing her subordinates that her skills picked up in her youth were still fresh in her mind. Satisfied with the course projection, she opened a fleet-wide channel. "All ships, this is Fleet Admiral Stettin. I've sent through a projected course, all ships are to accelerate to 0.2 light and proceed in-system." No sooner had she finished the broadcast than she felt her flagship accelerate and move onto a new heading, towards the primary inhabited planet of the system.
  4. That's good to know, I may well consider claiming a portion of the southern tip of South America later after I've got my first RP thread completed. Currently, claiming more than the Falklands doesn't suit my plan for how I'd like to RP my nation, but once I've established myself then it may be good to expand a little onto the mainland. Thanks for letting me know that option is available. I'd be more than happy to set up relations between The Almarin Expanse and The Kingdom of Hequ. If the claim is accepted, I'll see about sending a delegation over once I've settled.
  5. Hello all, not sure if I'm filling the form out correctly, but here goes: Official nation name: The Almarin Expanse Population (P&W numbers): 20,268 GDP per capita (P&W numbers): $547.23 Population density (sq. km): 39.01/sq.km Form of Government: Triumvirate Politics & War Wikia link (leave blank if you don't have one): Blank currently, working on this one. Describe your Nation IC: A Stellar Union of allied planets occupying the region of space known as the Almarin Expanse. (How much detail should I go into on this?) Describe yourself in OOC terms: (By "yourself", do you mean me as a person? Or my Nation?) In any case: Nation - A union of planets and cultures, including skilled diplomats, thrifty traders, warriors, law-makers, artisans, you name it. Generally peaceful, unless provoked. Person - I'm pretty amiable, I give respect so long as the respect is mutual, I try to approach situations with a tactful demeanour (softly-softly, you know?) Have you read, and do you agree to abide with, the rules? (Yes/No): Yes Where on the map do you want to be located? (Using real-world geography/nations, or a self-provided map): The Falkland Islands (off the coast of Argentina), if that's agreeable to all involved. Nation flag link (if you have a specific one you want to be used): Flag pending, currently making one, I will post it separately if that's alright. I'm currently working on my first post in NatRP, however being able to settle in the Falkland Islands is part of the progression of that thread, hence why I'm making my claim now.
