First, I'm putting this out there with respect to the mods, admins, and the community. Might seem a little crazy, but believe it or not I do enjoy the majority of the community here and hope to enjoy many long years here.
That said, something is definitely wrong with the moderation process here and I fear that with its current moderation staff, it will be short lived. If players fear posting and interacting with one another, your future is pretty bleak.
Earlier today a thread was locked for standards reasons. Off topic, OOC, heated arguments, trolling, etc. Pretty typical stuff that (in my many long years of games of this type) happen during what can be considered a 'world war'. The lines of IC and OOC blur and things get said. That however, is not the issue. What is the issue, is that the warns appear to be handed out in a biased manner.
Now before anyone goes bananas on me, go take a look at the thread. Warns were earned: http://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2081-vereenigde-oost-indische-compagnie-declaration-of-war-again/
Guess who didn't get warned. This guy. Me. Not one warn. I clearly should have been warned. I will admit to that, and take my lumps as punishment. HOWEVER, Saru was ultimately banned. He/she had zero warning at the start of the day. You cannot possibly tell me that Saru earned enough points in ONE thread, while arguably one of the more respectful players in that thread at the time.
To be clear, I am not questioning whom the mod is, or any such nonsense. Simply pointing out that there is a clear violation of bias, and with respect, ask that it be looked into via Sheepy.
Again, with respect, moderation biased kills games. I've seen it. Been subjected to it. I've even been a mod myself in other very similar games. I strongly advise Sheepy to look into this as soon as possible, and talk to the parties that were involved in that thread.
