Korea Develops Fractional Orbital Bombardment System
Lee Young-suk replied to Lee Young-suk's topic in National Affairs
We can ensure that it will not affect to your Space Station and other space devices. We are sorry for this inconvenience, because we need to keep this project secretly before it has succeed to launch. We don't want any nations or persons made this project failed. We launched missile to Northern Atlantic area because we want to know the maximum capabilities of our missiles and because most of threats to global security came from Europe. We will send precaution message and accepting advices from International Community to prevent global destabilization. Once again, we are sorry for this inconvenience. But, the missiles were in orbit when entering your air zone. Overall, Our missile project has been finished and we haven't planned to launch missile test anymore. -
We will not use this for aggressive. It is purely for defense and for threats prevention.

FOBS Missile Launched from Musudan-ri Missile Launcher Facility The apparent purpose of the FOBS is to provide the Republic of Korea with more attack planning flexibility and options. The system could, for example, be used to strike a country from the space, the direction with the fewest strategic early warning sensors. Minister of National Defense Han Min-goo publicly announced the existence of the system in June 2008. The Fractional Orbital Bombardment System (FOBS) is a Republic of Korea ICBM program in the 2008 that after launch would go into a low Earth orbit and would then de-orbit for an attack. It had no range limit and the orbital flight path would not reveal the target location. This would allow a path to Europe, America, Africa, North Pole and South Pole without known from enemy's radar. The Strategic Rocket Forces developed three FOBS missiles, with three entering service: 1. The orbital missile 8K69 (also known as R-36orb) was initially deployed after first Missile test. Succeed and landed in near Iceland. 2. The Global Rocket 1, or GR-1. Succeed and landed in Near an Unknown Island on the Northern part of Atlantic Ocean. 3. The R-46, Succeed and landed in Atlantic Ocean. The Missiles was designed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute and funded from Korea Development Bank and State Budget. Press Release on Ministry of National Defense Office: "Today, we have succeed to develop our first Fractional Orbital Bombardment System Missiles. This make us stronger to face threads against us and this is also a huge frog-leap for our Defense Technology. We thanked to everyone who has helped our nation become stronger and more advanced in Technology."Han Min-goo, Minister of National Defense "Our FOBS can reached all place in the earth and without known from our enemy's radar. But we will not use this to agressive and we will try to use this for peaceful purpose only."
