  1. No no, the idea is just static buffs. So when you create a new City, you choose whether it will be Wooden, Brick or Concrete. Infra in a Wooden city would cost say 15% less, but in war if that city is hit by say Aircraft it would take 15% more damage to infra (for example). It's assumed for "lore" purposes that "Infrastructure" includes houses.
  2. It's assumed for gameplay purposes that all nations have access to these resources, but cities/infra would still only cost money. I'm not advocating creating 3 more resource types as that would be too complex.
  3. So my idea is that when you build a new City, you choose what type of material the houses will be built out of: Wooden Houses (Cheap Cost of Infrastructure, Increased damage to Infrastructure from attacks in War) Brick Houses (Moderate Cost of Infrastructure, Moderate damage to Infrastructure from attacks in War) Concrete Houses (Expensive Cost of Infrastructure, Reduced damage to Infrastructure from attacks in War) I'm not sure about the specifics, I'm just putting the idea out here for discussion. Of course the cost/damage modifiers would only apply to each city individually, so the cost of infra would only be reduced in Wooden cities, and so on. It would be possible to have 2 wooden cities, 4 brick, 2 concrete, or whatever you like. I'm guessing that it would not be possible to change the material type in the a city once it was founded, it would be permanent, or perhaps you could change a city's resource type but it would be extremely expensive and would convert all infra in the city to the new material type.
  4. Oh, for some reason I thought this was suggesting that we get money every hour instead of two hours..
  5. The request is WHY, why is this event happening? If you have infra destroyed in a war then there was a REASON, you lost infra because you were bombed, you lost a battle, and in that case you can counter/ameliorate the effects by building up your own military forces. Why does an event happen, besides you getting on the wrong side of the game's RNG? Also, I might be wrong but economic crisis could happen without it being scripted, for example a player might get in a position where they had no food and the people starved, or didn't have resources to power their power plants. At least in those situations the "crisis" was the result of the error of the player, and it can be fixed by the player. How is it FUN (games are supposed to be fun, yes?) to just get an event that says "TODAY A HURRICANE APPEARED IN YOUR NATION, IT WREAKED HAVOC AND DESTROYED 500 INFRA, SUCKS TO BE YOU BRO, LOL"? What is the point?
  6. Hi there P&W World, I forgot to do this earlier so here I am. I played CyberNations long ago, which got me interested in this "online nation simulation" genre. More recently I found another online nation sim called "Nations" which I got bored of and went inactive because I didn't like how the mechanics worked (really weird gameplay compared to (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways)), I created a neutral alliance there which collapsed due to my inactivity. So I recently found this game, which has more familiar mechanics to CNers. Also found the GPA who are cool.
  7. I don't understand why anyone would want this kind of thing. How is it fun to log into your nation one day and just randomly have something terrible/cheap happen which does nothing but make your nation make less money. What does it accomplish except piss off the player with an event they have no control over and no way to counter or ameliorate? As a new player honestly this kinda thing would just make me dislike the game. I mean at least with war you can fight back, what can you do against this kind of stuff? It's like that Even suggestion thread I was reading (https://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/8773-event-suggestion-thread/), basically everything in that thread is terrible and the only thing it would accomplish is to make players hate and/or leave the game. Events that are mostly good, with perhaps a negative event which is extremely rare, OK, otherwise it's just a bad idea.
  8. Hello, To add more customization, I suggest nations have a national coat of arms in addition to the national flag, as well as the ability to use Credits to have a custom coat of arms. Here's what I'm talking about: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallery_of_country_coats_of_arms EDIT: And also Alliances could have coat of arms' too.
  9. Ancient Ruins Archaeologists in your nation have discovered the buried remains of a city and temples, it is believed they are over 2,000 years old. Tourists from all over the world are lining up to visit your nation to see them. Increases gross income for a temporary amount of time.
