Peace mission initiated- Hogwarts missive.
Sir Scarfalot replied to Prefonteen's topic in Alliance Affairs
I'm confused, do you expect players NOT to take the easy way out? The vast majority of players will take the actions that are most likely to lead to victory. You can't even really blame them for it. -

Uh, if people flee the alliance, that's still a loss of score. In fact it's so much worse. -
Blitzing is only effective against nations that aren't prepared; and it is very much possible to be prepared for any possible attack or combination of attacks. You just need to be good enough at the game and be willing to do what it takes.

I offer my sincere condolences. Alas I cannot offer my surprise, since this doesn't surprise me whatsoever

so... break free from the shackles of rules, by signing up for an alliance that has the strict rule of never allowing any offensive wars? Better idea: Join aargh, the alliance that actually has no rules and lets you do what you wanna do.

Now, where have we heard the "we're rolling out new programs to fix our financial boondoggles" line before? Right after being called out on it? Here's hoping it goes a tad bit smoother this time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -

Hey, if I'm Sir Eatsalot, you're a quiche. I know which side of that battle I'd bet on, omnomnomnom -
It's not as bad as if everyone signed NAPs with each other. That'd just be awful

Edit: Looks like this was actually the work of their old economics officer robbing their bank and disbanding their alliance. As if his crimes weren't enough already! Still, this does ultimately mean that The Royal Dragons themselves nor their top leader, Epimetheus, were at fault per se. Therefore: The Department of Opposition hereby RESCINDS its condemnation of The Royal Dragons as a whole, instead CONDEMNS Jacob Smith of New Found Republic, and declares WAR against the New Found Republic*. *War won't happen until the 12 turn cooldown since the last war expires -
So... You don't see "very much potential" in the Rising Tides. ...I don't either tbqh, but maybe I'm wrong

Wat? No, I'm talking about the IRL conspirators that actually did the original IRL assassination. Dark Brotherhood are cool. -

I had noticed the same thing tbh, but TRD is really Austria with their economics officer as Franz Ferdinand, if you want to keep the analogy accurate. Well, the Young Bosnia conspirators were a band of idiots that botched the assassination horribly. It wasn't until Franz Ferdinand and his driver screwed up even worse and when Gavrilo got lucky as a duck that he finally succeeded. All of that is arguably applicable to this situation. Also in their defense and mine, we're both rebels with a very clear cause, not self-serving bullies (though both definitely deep in the grey morally). Also the actual assassination was a relatively small part of the whole cause of the war, tensions had been there and were going to snap either way. Much like Orbis politics actually... Which, well, makes this whole thing completely true to source material. In light of all that, if this actually results in an actual bloc vs. bloc war, then I will change my forum avatar to Gavrilo Princip for the duration, because it's the least I can do in service to the memes and qualityposting. Edit: Herp derp forgot to watch the lies section of the extra history video -

What I do is fairly similar, really. I oppose anyone that I want to, and I am quite receptive to suggestions about who I should oppose, if I can be convinced they're worth opposing. It's a unique concept and I understand that it is confusing at first. -

Y'know, it all means about as much as anything else in this game does. Just because it doesn't affect you personally doesn't make it any less relevant to the people it does matter to. -

I'm not just threatening you, I'm actually following through, and I'll keep doing it. At this point, though, my demands have changed: Get ALL of your members up to 6 cities, and I'll stop declaring wars. That's it. You'll eat missiles until you do. -

Yes, they sent Eternal Empire a little bit of money, but that's the extent of it. 21 other members haven't gotten anything, ever. Several are inactive, but enough aren't to where they should very easily be able to reach out to them and bring them up to par. My thread doesn't just revolve around this, though. My points are that A. their meme warfare is normie tier, B. they've given all of one grant to one member across their entire currently recorded history, and C. their economics officer is incompetent. "Farming" their members is perhaps the wrong accusation; "neglect" is more accurate. He may have deposited more to the bank than he's collected, but that doesn't change the fact that none of it has been going to their membership as promised. Stomped, eh? Is that what you'll call it after you've eaten your 10th missile? Or 20th? I won't stop here, fam. I care not what I lose, I care about what you gain and what you've promised to your members. You're more pathetic than anyone I've encountered so far, and for that I congratulate you, because it is one hell of an accomplishment. -

So where's the grants then? I checked the leaders bank and trade records, and his economics officers' bank and trade records, and his war/FA officers' bank and trade records. Nothing to 21 of their 25 nations. Sure, I didn't check their forums or their discord, but there should be at least some evidence of ANY kind of funding, but there isn't. Your own screenshot shows him putting stuff into the bank and taking it out again, not sending it to anyone in his alliance. If the bank was being distributed by one of his officers then that'd be fine, but it isn't. And that's the problem. -

Sir Scarfalot replied to Sir Scarfalot's topic in Alliance Affairs
That is correct. If your leadership advice is "ignore your members and keep all of the resources you have consolidated in the officers alone, don't fund anyone even if you promised to" and "call in pacts and get missiled rather than consider doing your job", or "don't negotiate, even when the demands are entirely reasonable" then that's not advice. That's bad character. If you're trying to correct TRD's mistakes, then you're doing a right horrible job of it m8. -

Sir Scarfalot replied to Sir Scarfalot's topic in Alliance Affairs
Yeah, you're sending in a guy to try and do damage to me in revenge for my attacks. Good for you. But like I said, you haven't acknowledged the fundamental point that I've been trying to hammer home, which is that you're failing to actually help TRD in any actual way. You can't slow down my missiles, so you're doing them no favors there. You aren't helping them fund their cities. You aren't giving them leadership advice. You're not trying to be constructive. Happy to be of service, fam! -

Sir Scarfalot replied to Sir Scarfalot's topic in Alliance Affairs
It's true, mistakes do happen. I do indeed make mistakes, plenty of them. And it is important how we act moving forward, and learn from them, I'm right there with you. It hasn't happened yet, though. Rather than fund their members, or even consider them for a second, half the people in this thread are trying to say that I'm the bad guy here, while all I've demanded is that they follow through on their obligations. This pattern is what I hate the most about P&W; that the newbies and low-score players are treated like turds while officers and high-tier players take advantage of them. Well, I haven't condemned BK for spying on me, so who knows? As for the counter, sure. You can easily fund his repairs. But you're STILL not going to divert a penny towards actually funding cities in TRD, and you honestly think that 'honour' is more important than your promises or your allies. That's terrible. -

Sir Scarfalot replied to Sir Scarfalot's topic in Alliance Affairs
Missiles destroy hundreds of infrastructure, somewhat less than the cost of funding someone to their 6th city. But they'd rather repair that then fund their own promises. The bank records show that they don't give a damn about their members. I attacked them because they don't give a damn about their allies. I am in an alliance on my own because I am a contributor, and I take alliances and promises seriously. Despite that, I've seen far too many alliances take advantage of their members, and I won't stand for it. Your OWN alliance, The Syndicate, is not innocent either. Back during the Oktoberfest, I was part of the BoC, and I beiged one of your allies. They were active, your alliance to this day insists that they won, but they couldn't have cared less about their responsibility to their ally. The Syndicate could have turned that war around with a few thousand dollars, but no. They didn't. They wouldn't. They believed themselves ahead of their allies. Today, TRG believes themselves ahead of their allies. And you, KT, and Zodiac, all believe that they are right to think so. I disagree, and I contribute to this game by making that position clear through actions, not just words.
