  1. Pretty sure it wasn't just this thread, either. Pouring kerosene on the fire is fun.
  2. Yeah, this has been reported in the past.
  3. I never knew necroposting was this fun. I should try it more! In all seriousness, though, I do believe this is how many of us feel. The current "punishment" doesn't punish anyone; it doesn't even correct. Unless you want to deal with public backlash from a future exploit, you have to deter future exploiters. The fact that they're still gaining from this exploit after the "punishment" does not deter anyone. Plus, contradicting your previous cheating stance doesn't help. I can understand not wanting to alienate the NR members who didn't intentionally benefit from the exploit. However, as we've pointed out in other threads, this community is not very forgiving. Deleting their cities gained after the exploit would be optimal for everyone involved. You have a tough decision, Sheepy. Good luck!
  4. I have unembargoed you for this. I would also upvote this post, but it seems everyone is running short of them now. Good luck!
  5. Exactly. By not wiping them, Sheepy is doing them a disservice. Plenty of people are planning on hitting them until they quit because of the cities.
  6. In 2015, Sheepy banned nations for making money from an exploit. He also deleted cities of people who spent exploited money to them, even if they had no knowledge of the money being a result of a cheat. I'm afraid you're 4 years late.
  7. You seem to be the best one for the job from what I've read.
  8. No, you're not wrong, but considering And And All suggest this still far from how much NR directly gained through this exploit. If you factor in other things, such as the military damage done by the illegal resources, the extra military used from the illegal cities, the recruitment of new players, etc., it's very far from how much they gained.
  9. Absolutely. 2015 Sheepy would've banned them for $10 mil illicitly gained cash. Now $209 billion in resources is just removing a few cities? For contrast: And from the other 2015 thread:
  10. From 2015: And from the other 2015 thread: From 2019: But hey, at least it wasn't $210 billion.
  11. Yes, it was more and it's the actual game. IIRC, this was before the speedround, so everything was reset. Everyone's got a skeleton in their closet.
  12. This thread didn't age well, apparently. From 2015: And from the other 2015 thread:
  13. From 2015: And from the other 2015 thread: My, how the times have changed. And how deep the graves have been dug. Oops.
  14. Absolutely this. It sets a dangerous precedent. In the past, I vaguely remember an exploit at turn change that spawned money. When the players found it, they spawned in some money and warned you about it. You let them keep the money because they told you about it as opposed to continuing to exploit it. Here, they didn't warn you until everyone and their pet bot knew. Yet, you're effectively letting them keep a large portion of their spawned resources by letting them keep their cities. Hell, look at this announcement from when you were in Peru in 2015. Specifically, look at this post (emphasis added). This was even in Alpha/Beta/whatever-we're-calling-it-now, not the actual game. Why have more strict punishment for an exploit when testing the game than when the game is actually live?
  15. Ah hell. I compared them to Enron and now their leaders face more or less no punishment. Pooball after buying up an extremely large portion of the market claiming he is using 100/100% more efficiently than dozens of other alliances who also do that:
  16. When searching for a post on the forum, the search bar has a strict 15 second timer. It is also applied to moving between pages and modifying search parameters. If this could be reduced to something like 2 seconds or removed altogether, it would be extremely helpful.
  17. You're right. I would like to redact my previous comments. Furthermore, I grant Nova Rita the title of "Politics and War's Most Innovative Alliance" for their advanced accounting techniques and outstanding ethics.
  18. Damn, what a thread. Nice find, @Akuryo Bringing back memories of the good old days. You would have to be bored enough to play, intelligent enough to cheat, and yet still bad enough to need to cheat. Quite a rare combination. I wanna meet the alliance who has ~50% of all resources in Orbis. Theo/Keegoz/Horsecock, I'll be leaving KT within 24 hours of the time Noctis gives me the alliance name. Then everyone would have fake resources. I doubt it. Way better than NPO, I see. Even better than TEst's 100% tax days, which I must say is quite a feat, considering TEst was one of the most, if not the most, competent alliances in the game ever. lol wut This is next level stuff here. I mean, IIRC, Sheepy is getting an econ degree. This could be some sort of simulation to see how the market reacts to magical resources entering. This appears accurate. Alex and SS are the only 2 capable, not the entire mod team. Even then, I doubt SS knows enough about the game's code to effectively handle the situation. I doubt many since nobody has reported the problem in the past. People have reported ways to duplicate money to Alex in the past. Someone would've likely done that now if it was easy to find. 19. This was added so heirs could take over if the leader went inactive. It also creates drama and diverse politics from coups. Don't put someone you don't trust in that position. Here's what Sheepy/Alex (the admin) has said about the heir position:
  20. lol 1v1 me in my street, no HMTD, turn change tomorrow
  21. Thick steel isn't as thick as you think. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Damascus_Titan_missile_explosion#The_explosion But yeah, planes bombing missiles/nukes would be pretty overpowered. You would be able to, in theory, bomb 3 of them the same amount of time it takes them to build and launch 1.
