  1. If the last post is correct then the question should be, which people out of the potential 120 actually did vote? Aren't there more then 120 non-mob people? And out of all the votes, can't we assume that mostly the forum active people are already actually engaged in PnW politics  enough to have a 'full' vote? I bet, for example, that in the top 7 alliances (1000+ members) at least 100 are very engaged and knowledgeable.

    Edit,

My fundamental objection is that while a small select group may enjoy this it makes an already small game dependant on the community for a big part of its gameplay even more select.

It started back under me, actually. I ran the awards when it was owf voting, but it became a popularity contest. So I closed off voting until after during the NEXT awards that I ran. Since then others have taken it over(Never again) and made the process way simpler and easier.

Thanks for the reply. Really was wondering. The results show a lot of work put into them (thx for that, Indger, Adrienne, Vas and Putmir, I do enjoy it), and I've asked before why Alex doesn't make it into ingame rewards anymore. I still wonder why the alliance reps (can't find who they are) come before the general population or why the awards wouldn't be a popularity contest?

  3. I may have misread or misunderstood but, why are the votes of 'alliance representatives' a thing? If this is an actual thing a few follow up questions,

    1. Which alliances?

    2. Which people exactly?

    3. Why these alliances?

    4. Why these people?

    5. Why is this listed first and not the OWF vote?

    6. Can these votes be complelty seperate next year so not to mix anything up?

    7. Better yet, next year, don't have a separate vote, one person, one vote?

if you really dont like it, I would look to your leadership and tell them, as they are the ones who have been pretty effectively weaponizing it over that last year or so.  This war really was us trying to force a nap change, and it is why eclipse jumped in, because they realized if they didn't, we could do to them what they have been doing to others.

I do get that my side actually *does* things and gets things done and your side *attempts* things.

And blaming the nr 1 might feel good but this NaP and white peace thing goes beyond that I think (without excluding my own gov in this btw).

This is me getting some fun out of this mess btw, nothing else so sorry if this was too mean, t'was but a jest.

  5. Did you take a class with Alex on how to make PnW more into a bad Nation states? I really like Alex's kickoff but the long term could be better, as I really like the alliance system but after all the NAP discussions over the past year or even more the conclusion is farming until freaking May?

I'd vote for a stop on all war mechanics developments and have Alex input a tiny tractor gif somewhere.

  6. I think it all boils down to Alex. I'm really curious if he intends to keep changes small and keep the game like it is and has been or is he willing to shake things up? And does he consider that a difference between keeping players happy or driving core players away or is it something else all together?

  7. @Alex

Soon I will be playing Politics and War for over 3000 days. I've enjoyed it very much and hopefully I will do so for another 3000 days.

I am however a bit afraid. At first you advertised as a better alternative to Cyber Nations, another nation sim I've enjoyed for several years before joining Politics and War. At the moment I'm seeing similarities between late stage CN and PnW.

The reasons have been named and stated here and on discord over and over, lack of development, hardly any hardcore new content, stagnant gameplay to keep whales paying player satisfied and many patchwork fixes, etc, etc.

Ofcourse I'm glad with all the input of the development team and there are changes made but it doesn't change my feeling of late stage browsergamerites.

I may be wrong ofcourse but I have two questions Alex,

    1. Do you plan do hire a team (of professional/semi professionals) to work on bigger changes that are planned now?

    2. Has, and if so how, your attitude towards PnW changed between the start and now? Assuming it some sort of perhaps the income source for you instead of a startup in a niche game?

    P.s.

Let me again state that I might be wrong and missing the bigger picture here, and again, I do appreciate the work done by people on PnW (except for the new war screen layout ;-))

  8. I know it's a no discussion forum so I do apologize ahead of my main message which is,

Don't use discord tickets! A few dozen of us read the mod topics with a passion and will loose (like we have for a while now) an important facet of PnW..

  9. As part of Eclipse I'm not surprised by this war. But I haven't seen a very descent CB besides being victorious in the past, as in the sence that there aren't any really nasty reasons to fight. Seems like the DoWs of Eclipse in the past havent been nasty neither, nor are the ones now.

Trying to frame Pascal into something besides that seems silly bc it does take an impressive amount of alliances to do this. There is no salt to be found in the channels I'm in. But I might be wrong.
