I have gone through the logs of every single war in Grumpy, combed over every nuke report, and every single nuke that landed, landed on a different city. While I understand your frustration, this is something that could've initially been approached privately. Had we not provided sufficent evidence to disprove, sure, make a public thread about it. But this is a serious accusation, where you assumed without actually delving into our war reports. Here's a list of every nuke report in Grumpy, where you'll see every nuke hit a unique city. There were 2 guys (Aenir and Inconnu) where their cities all shared the same name, so I included the URLs to those cities. You'll notice, as far as Grumpy is concerned, this war would not have looked differently and there were no nukes wasted.

Really man, I had no idea. I'm completely dumbfounded, and I understand that you may be skeptical of that, but truly, I didn't know there was an exploit that was not allowing you to select which cities to nuke. The only strategy we discussed was as SRD said - buying a small amount of infra in our newer cities hoping that you'd take the bait of nuking those instead of the older ones. But we never had any idea that you were being forced to nuke the same city over twice. I know it's not my fault, but I do apologize. If you don't believe I didn't use any exploit, just take a look at my nation and see the 8 different cities that were nuked. Really, we would have never condoned using such an exploit.

To be fair, I almost declared an ordinary war, not because I wanted to limit damage, but because it's not very noticeable in the war dec screen. I had the same issue when trying to specialize my air attacks.

15 Lessons You Can Learn From the ‘Greatest Generation’
Born in the excess of the 1920’s, the crop of Americans who would one day be dubbed the “Greatest Generation” by journalist Tom Brokaw spent their youth enduring the hardships of the Great Depression, and came of age just in time to march off to war in both Europe and the Pacific. The tumults of the age, as tragic as they were, aided in producing one of the best generations of Americans to ever come out of the land of the free and the home of the brave.
In the years that have passed between the advent of the Greatest Generation and the Millennials, many have begun to realize that regardless of the technological advances that we enjoy in the information age, there are plenty of things our grandparents and great-grandparents did better. Here are 15 lessons we can learn from the Greatest Generation.
15. Write letters
There is something so romantic, and so much more real in using a pen and paper to write your own words in your own handwriting. The excitement that comes with receiving a letter from a loved one and opening an envelope that doesn’t contain a bill or an advertisement makes it worth the time it takes to send it. To this day many members of the Greatest Generation retain the love letters sent between continents when boy and girl were both unsure of whether or not they would ever see one another again.
14. Keep your nose to the grindstone
Our grandparents generation spent decades working for one company. It was very likely that the first company who hired you would be the company you retired from. Work trends these days have people working for multiple employers throughout their careers, but the principle remains the same, hard work pays off.
13. Eat real food
Before the proliferation of fast-food, Americans were much thinner and healthier. Each meal was prepared from scratch, using real ingredients, not processed and preservative-filled substitutes. It’s not easy these days, when fast food and pre-packaged processed food is so much cheaper and more accessible than healthy whole foods.
12. Go outside
The Greatest Generation spent almost their entire youths outside playing and exploring in nature, it’s good for your body and it’s educational for the kids.
11. Stay together
It’s possible that this is one thing the new generation is actually taking their grandparents advice on. A 2014 article from the New York Times suggested that couples married in the 2000’s are staying married at a much higher rate than the previously believed 50 percent. Extrapolation of the data they collected suggested around 75 percent of these marriages may be til death do them part.
10. Read
Reading is the best way that an adult can continue to learn new things. Our grandparents generation knew this and read constantly. It wasn’t uncommon for people to read the entire newspaper during breakfast. Reading is a great way to keep your mind sharp.
9. Behave with propriety
There’s something to be said for having respect for your fellow human beings. Members of the Greatest Generation showed respect for one another, said “How do you do?” and introduced themselves using their first and last names.
8. Spend (and save) wisely
Growing up during the Great Depression gave people a sense of what they could do without and how to wisely stretch a dollar. This is why your grandparents most likely still have the same house they first purchased as a young couple, and still have much of the same furniture and even some of the same appliances. They knew to repair things when they were broken, rather than purchasing new belongings every few years. This is why that generation went into retirement with very little debt.
7. Have face-to-face conversations
Studies have shown that we are having more interactions with each other and yet we are lonelier than ever before because we are physically isolated from one another. Break this cycle by taking a page from your grandma’s book and have real conversations, face-to-face. Whether it’s with family, an old friend, or a complete stranger, having a real conversation is good for you.
6. Eat dinner at home together
Our grandparents didn’t go out to eat unless they were courting or traveling, or if it was a special occasion. Not only is it cheaper to eat at home, it’s also healthier and good for family bonding.
5. Get civically involved
People today spend a lot of time debating one another’s political beliefs on Facebook, which only breeds contempt. Instead of being an internet activist, go get involved in your town. Take ownership of your community by joining a civic leadership organization or participating in a highway cleanup.
4. Go dancing
Our grandparents courted one another in the era of swing dancing. Back then men knew that one surefire way to a woman’s heart was to quite literally sweep her off her feet. I’ve got a tip for young men of today: it still works. Take your lady dancing, you won’t regret it.
3. Buy American
The men who fought Germany and Japan were not keen to run out and buy new Volkswagens and Mitsubishis when they came home, and they steadfastly maintained their commitment to buy American made products throughout their lives. This principle is not only loyal, it’s good for the American economy.
2. Take Responsibility
The Greatest Generation were brought up on the principles that you reap what you sow, and they didn’t try to pass the buck. Trying to find blame with everyone but ourselves has led us to the overly litigious society we live in today.
1. That which doesn't kill you, makes you stronger
The Greatest Generation are so called because of their incredible perseverance. They survived not only the austerity of the 1930’s, but also the bloodshed of the 1940’s, and they came through it to form families and live long lives. Whenever you experience hardship, think like your grandparents did, and carry on.
We hope you re-read that last one, Spanish Armada.

Current Mechanics:
- You can spy and engage in warfare against nations that are active (non-vacation mode)
- You can spy on nations regardless of range, so long as you are in an active war against said opponent
- If your opponent switches to vacation mode, you may still send in ground, air, naval, missile and nuke attacks against them, however, their nation is disabled and unable to retaliate against you
- Once said opponent switches to vacation mode, you are unable to spy said opponent
Problem with current mechanic:
- Handicaps player's ability to fully engage in warfare against those who switched to VM during an active war
Proposed Change:
- If an opponent switches to vacation mode, you may engage in all acts of war during the time that war is active, including espionage
Why this change is necessary:
It is my understanding that the purpose of allowing nations to continue to send in ground, air, naval, missile and nuke attacks against war opponents who jumped into vacation mode after being attacked is to discourage misuse of vacation mode to avoid war. Allowing nations to also spy said opponents is merely an extension of that purpose to discourage VM misuse.
To be clear, I'm not advocating for any spy attacks against VM nations who have no active wars. This suggestion is only for nations that are actively engaged in a war, then decide to switch into VM.

1. Denial and isolation
"My nation was never GPA! If it was, then everybody was GPA!"
The first reaction to learning about ever being GPA is to deny the reality of the situation. “This isn’t happening, this can’t be happening,” people often think. It is a normal reaction to rationalize your overwhelming emotions.
Denial is a common defense mechanism that buffers the immediate shock of being GPA, numbing you to your emotions. You block out the words and hide from the facts. You start to believe that life is meaningless, and nothing is of any value any longer. For most people experiencing grief, this stage is a temporary response that carries you through the first wave of pain.
2. Anger
"It wasn't me! And who is this Naam, and why would he accept such an application?!"
As the masking effects of denial and isolation begin to wear, reality and its pain re-emerge. You are not ready. The intense emotion is deflected from your vulnerable core, redirected and expressed instead as anger. The anger may be aimed at inanimate objects, innocent hobbits, complete strangers, friends or family.
Anger may be directed at GPA. Rationally, you know GPA is not to be blamed. Emotionally, however, you may resent the GPA for ever accepting you or for leaving you. You feel guilty for being angry, and this makes you more angry.
3. Bargaining
"Please Sheepy! Change my nation ID!"
The normal reaction to feelings of helplessness and vulnerability is often a need to regain control through a series of “If only” statements, such as:
This is an attempt to bargain. Secretly, you may make a deal with Sheepy in an attempt to change your nation ID. This is a weaker line of defense to protect you from the painful reality.
4. Depression
"I wasted so much time being GPA, yet my nation misses it so much..."
There are two types of depression that are associated with mourning. The first one is a reaction to practical implications relating to being GPA. Sadness and regret predominate this type of depression. You worry about consequences. You worry that, in your grief, you have spent less time with others that depend on you. This phase may be eased by simple clarification and reassurance. You may need a bit of helpful cooperation and a few kind words.
The second type of depression is more subtle and, in a sense, perhaps more private. It is your quiet preparation to separate and to bid GPA farewell. Sometimes all you really need is a hug.
5. Acceptance.
"My nation was GPA."
Reaching this stage of grieving is a gift not afforded to everyone. GPA may be sudden and unexpected or you may never see beyond your anger or denial. It is not necessarily a mark of bravery to resist the inevitable and to deny yourself the opportunity to make your peace. This phase is marked by withdrawal and calm. This is not a period of happiness and must be distinguished from depression.
Coping with GPA is ultimately a deeply personal and singular experience — nobody can help you go through it more easily or understand all the emotions that you’re going through. But others can be there for you and help comfort you through this process. The best thing you can do is to allow yourself to feel the grief as it comes over you. Resisting it only will prolong the natural process of healing.
