  1. Finnish troops are very confused now as orders from Headquarters to stay come as base leaders are yelling at them to hurry and pack up. After a bit of confusion, Finnish troops are hard at work, however we have increased security in rebel-held regions due to the anti-peacekeeping attitude taken by the rebels. That concludes this update.
  2. Erm yea right there are a lot of people using chems and 300,000 are displaced alongside 1.2 million refugees. I was not forced to say that at all. XD OOC: Why not?
  3. Eric, on 01 Sept 2016 - 7:12 PM, said: OOC: These events in your report were not agreed to by me... but this is fine. Next time, ask me first please. Eric, on 01 Sept 2016 - 7:28 PM, said: Or this one. But it's also fine. But again, no more without by agreement. --- The Finnish Red Cross and the Finnish Peacekeeping Coalition understands the concerns of the Meonesians and hereby apologizes to the Meonesians. The FPC and FRC understand that Meonesia would like to have greater sovereignty over their lands and control over their affairs. Therefore, the Finnish divisions of the FPC and FRC will hereby from henceforth be reducing their operational zones by 30% (the capital city et environs, Dutchvaasten area, Veswesten et environs) and will also be withdrawing troops from positions as "de facto police" and will serve only as (1) rescuers and investigators into human rights abuses (2) medics (3) supply distributors. In addition, the Finnish divisions of the FPC and FRC will no longer post detailed reports on the progression of the work on Meonesia in compliance with the Government's wishes, but only broad, brief reports. We will continue to use internationally provided money and funds wisely and will continue to give the same amount of service, just within a less sensitive and populated zone. Don't worry - each food parcel we have available will still go into the mouths of hungry civilians, each shot of medicine to save a life, and each man-hour we have towards keeping the country safe and prosperous when the war is over. Anything you give will be used. It will never be enough. To sum it up, basically we will be doing the same amount in a smaller area, so more for a concentrated area. This was a very difficult decision to make and we hope that it is the right one. At this point in time, we will still work alongside the Aussies and Russians and UDAC and continue sending international funds to them as they have chosen to join under the banner of the FRC. You may leave at any time if these changes mean the end of our partnership. It is up to the Australians, Russians and UDAC to pull their troops or keep them there if they so wish. We cannot make that decision. We thank you for working alongside our troops. This has been a excellent training experience, and an excellent humanitarian mission, and it shall continue, with some necessary accommodations. We may try to do good in the world, but obstacles, whether safety-related, financial, or bureaucratic, do exist, and sometimes, we must adapt with it - and both the FRC and FPC are proud to do so. Thank you again, and for my last post here for a while. OOC: Sorry bout that.
  4. Finland congratulates the USA on its endeavour and hopes that minimal casualties will occur. We are lucky that we are already a democracy, a first-past-the-post system. OOC: I am not taking your side, but congratulations on taking a stand in what you believe in!
  5. The Finnish Red Cross and the Finnish Peacekeeping Coalition thanks the United States. Our banks are overflowing and we have decided to monitor illegal torture closer, along with civilian misconduct. The FPC has also volunteered to act as the de facto police at the time, as police are busy attempting to hold major Meonesian installations. We will prevent sexual assaults, looting, homicides, etc, but will not attempt to stop trespassing and assaults as they are on the fence, after all this is a war. Some disturbing events have come out concerning torture and the general situation: -Meonesian official hanged on the corner of a Red Cross tent - ridiculously disturbing. -Civilian reports of a mass execution of Meonesian government officials in a major city. -Reports of civilians kicked out of houses for rebel bases, and thousands homeless. They are currently living in Red Cross tent cities and being fed good food, water, receive materials and also have spaces to play games and entertain themselves. But there has been light in the darkness as well. Hundreds have been nursed back to health from the brink of death on entirely preventable medical situations like diarrhea and blood poisoning. Thousands have recieved stitches and had ankles or knees or arms put in casts. And funny enough, there was a report of a family who was actually happy to have their house destroyed and come to the Red Cross camp. Apparently, the living conditions within the village were worse than inside the camp, and their house was covered by a out of country insurance company anyways. Red Cross Update #2 finished.
  6. Finnish Peacekeeping Coalition (FPC) update: The Finnish government and the Finnish Red Cross have accepted offers of help from Russia, Australia and the UDAC. Russia: Peacekeeping mission under FPC UDAC: Funding and Equipment Australia: Peacekeeping mission under FPC We would also like to thank nations like The Evenstar that have agreed to recognize to not shoot on FPC troops, who are all carrying the flag of the Finnish Red Cross, United Nations, the Finnish flag and the flag of the UDAC, Australia or Russia depending on their nationality. However, despite this, a few accidents have still occured. Opposing force: Meonesians FPC force nationality: Finnish Finnish soldiers were evacuating citizens from a village that was planned for an attack by the Meonesian government and a possible bombing in the dark of night. Suddenly, several shots rang out from a small group of about 12 Meonesian soldiers who likely mistook them for Rebels, despite the illuminated Red Cross symbol next to the Finnish flag on the armoured cars used for transport and on troops clothing. FPC injuries number 2, Meonesian deaths and or injuries number around 7. Opposing force: Rebels FPC force nationality: Australian Australian forces were attempting to negotiate the release of a Meonesian mayor who had been tortured by angry rebels for enjoyment. However, either rebel civilians or rebel soldiers began hitting the Australians with fists and metal batons. The Australians had to use physical force and some warning shots to leave unharmed. No FPC injuries number 1, a broken knee. Rebel injuries likely number around 5. We have plans to administer over 50,000 hours of medical work and 200,000 meals to Meonesian citizens in the next month alone, and this number will increase next month thanks to UDAC funding. That concludes today's FPC / Finnish Red Cross update.
  7. Finland, supporting our legitimate allied government yet at the same time wanting to see a change in the now somewhat corrupted Meonesian government, has decided to not support any team and instead will send in 5,000 soldiers operating under the banner of the Finnish Red Cross. Finland is worried that the Meonesian Triumvirate will adhere to its promise of raining hell upon the rebels and that the full scale war will escalate. The Government of Finland is proud to announce that 5,000 Finnish troops will head to Meonesia as a part of a Finnish Red Cross Delegation. They will take care of tasks like mitigating the effect on innocent civilians during this war, making sure atrocities do not occur, protecting vital buildings like Hospitals, Power Plants, and will provide food, medicine, water and aid to Meonesians. The Finnish Red Cross will foot the full cost and has already collected millions of Euros in donations to the "Meonesian Peacekeeping Mission". The Finnish Red Cross proudly operates under a "Peaceful Retaliation" method. The 5,000 Finnish troops are very well trained, having recently participated in our elite nationwide war game, Operation Solstice. If Rebels are to fire on us, we will fire back. The Finnish Red Cross has brought tanks and planes just for this purpose, along with for cargo hauls (tanks) and supply drops (planes). The Finnish Red Cross has also volunteered to send materiels to PoWs in Meonesia. Again, we operate under the Peaceful Retaliation method and trust that the Meonesian Triumvirate will not fire on our troops, which are flying both Finnish Flags, the UN flag and the Red Cross Flag. If the Meonesian Triumvirate, or the Rebels of Meonesia should they win the war, ask for us to pull out, we shall. Otherwise, it is our intent to help Meonesia rebuild if the Meonesian Triumvirate does rain hell upon the rebels. This will also be an excellent training exercise for our troops, learning what a zone of conflict looks like and basic skills. We are on the way and will build bases in seculded areas of no strategic value outside cities to serve your country in this turbulent time. Medics will also come, some from the military and some from the FRC. If you would like to donate to this heroic endeavour, please donate to the Finnish Red Cross. Every penny helps. The Finnish Red Cross is the only organization in the war zone right now. Donate to us and see your money's best value! Get glory and honor for your nation, organization, alliance, etc. We would much more appreciate donations than direct involvement by another organization. 5,000 troops is enough. Estimated cost: $65 million (1 month) and add $35 million for each month it goes beyond $30 million base investment - building materials for inital base - Warzone Involvement Pay (a one time bonus given to soldiers who enter a warzone by the Finnish military, in this case the Red Cross) - inital food, water and ammo supplies - logistic to transport inital supplies - cost of transport fuel there and back $25 million a month - soldiers pay and FRC medics pay (20*8*30*5000 = 24 million for the soldiers only) Calculations are made 20 dollars an hour, 8 hours on duty a day, 5000 soldiers, 30 days in a month. FRC medics are also paid at the same rate. We have 210 medics destined for Meonesia. $2 million each month in Meonesia for food, medicine, water and civilian packages $8 million each month when rebuilding begins including supplies and vital necessities Orbis Time at the Launching of this mission: October 2008 Currently Raised: $25 million Nearly what we need to send our peacekeepers and medics overseas (and back)! Thanks to the generosity of Meonesians, Orbisians and Finnish citizens alike, we have raised enough money to nearly send our peacekeepers and medics overseas (and back)! However, the Red Cross lives on donations from the public and government funding, and the Government has not announced intent to fund this project, only to cooperate by providing troops. Please donate!
  8. I know it is a role play alliance, which is why I mention IN GAME. Also I mentioned it is a random musing which has nothing to do with this. If you have another correction that comes out of not reading my post properly, please follow the instructions conveniently provided in my sig. Thank you, and have a great day.
  9. Just some random musings... If you were to create this UDAC in game, I think the only way a "model UN" like this would succeed is if you have ridiculous numbers of people and strong ties with a few allies who would do anything to protect the UN. You would be an automatic target for raiders who are just looking for kicks / cynical and you would make quite a few enemies when you say, hit an alliance. Perhaps it would be better just to force members to donate 50% of their income towards helping Orbis in exchange for free protection from large alliances, oppurtunity to RP, etc. Maybe if one day UDAC exists in game we'll see. I don't it'll do much if I join. Only 5 cities, so sorry but I'm out.
  10. o7 Arrgh This could be interesting, but hey, interesting's what you guys live for, right? *shrug*
  11. 1. Alpha 2. Guardian 3. VE/ Syndicate (honestly idk) 4. Brotherhood of the Clouds 5. Mensa HQ GG LOL I WIN
  12. If any civilian flights need to be redirected, Helsinki - Vantaa International Airport in Helsinki would be very welcome to take them and the Government of Finland has set up a station there to handle displaced travellers. They can explore the pretty streets and attractions of Helsinki, which debatablely is much nicer than St. Petersburg
  13. Finland is happy to see this transparent report commissioned by the KGB, which admittingly has a notorious reputation, both worldwide and within Finland.
  14. Maybe. I don't know enough about this nation. (please come live in Finland, free everything, beautiful country, pretty, social democracy, Nordic...what more could you want?)
  15. You have no wish for me. You are a stupid idiot who should not be in this thread. You have no friends. Consequently, you have no life. Without a life, your feelings are shallow. That is to say, you have no feelings. And without feelings, you are bland. Bland, a white sheet of paper. In simpler terms, you have no soul. And without a soul The empty winds blow through the shell that is what used to be you. I wish for a un-corruptible wish.
  16. Finland is curious about these secret files...
  17. Well written. Finland is cheerful that there are native Finnish people in Russia's parliament, as after the Winter War some lands were annexed by Russia along with Finns who chose to stay.
  18. Well okay then. Sounds interesting!
  19. Weed? Smoking that pipe, could easily be a bong XD
  20. God damn Goand is hot. Helsinki's top high temperature today is a mild 23C.
  21. Finland mourns the death of a revolutionary leader who had the same ideals as Finnish society: Freedom, LGBT rights, and the bravery to challenge authority when necessary.
  22. Upper class snob. (really sorry about this but it was the first thing that popped in...)
  23. Due to the death involved in this competition, Finland has chosen not to participate this year as our best athletes are occupied with the Orbolympic Games, and we would rather not have our 2nd and third place athletes subjected to the death penalty. However we do commend the organizing committee for the large awards and the excellent range of events.
