Honestly, forum activity is interesting. You can ignore posts you don't care about. It's not like the news that you care about are going to get lost in this "huge" influx of threads.

Imagine going to someone's country to kill spies that have none, and then you are mad you got caught my the military or police sneaking about government buildings.
But it should have a higher chance of just escaping instead of straight up dying. -
Gotta go cyberpunk with half of my population being sentient androids and sprawling dystopic cities underground after nuclear war was had.
Good times.- 1

Need we remember that fatal 3rd day of December, of 2015? The day so many Haligonians suffered again.
In Chapsie's fields, the nuke's blow,
Between the buildings, row on row,
---That marks our co-ords, look in the sky,
---The nukes, still bravely soaring, high,
Scarse heard amid the detonations below,
-
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw the nukes glow,
---Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
------in chapsie's fields.
-
Take up your mask, with the snow,
To you from failing gas we choke,
---The light; be yours to blind your eyes,
---If ye break faith with the us who die
We shall not sleep, though nukes flow,
---In Chapsie's fields

Neutral alliances have to be more political than political alliances to survive. GPA failed here because they wanted to isolate themselves. Had GPA been talking to other leaders regularly while maintaining neutrality they would have likely done much better. To maintain your alliances safety you have to be in regular contact with alliance leaders, speak with them, have trust with them and maintain your neutrality. The more alliances you're on favorable terms with the more chance you can be successful in your attempts to avoid global politics.
I tried damn hard to keep my avenues open, but one man can only do so much. Good times ?
Problem was that no one even wanted economic ties at the time, which was one incentive to a neutral alliance as long as we were to trade indiscriminately.

Yeah, I mean, I've always felt it this way. if people want to quit because they need results or they can't handle losing, then I can't do much about it. I've always wanted people to be less sensitive to temporary setbacks and political trends and all I can tell them is whoever is willing to endure the most hardship is the better player. I can discourage taking advantage of that mentality though. Players always have a life cycle though and wars have always been a drop off point. Most people who have quit during a war just decide they don't want to bother getting on for the game more and that's just the reality. The nut of the world is hollow if it's just about the game and people who are less involved in their own communities for the community's sake will find it easier to quit.
Yeah, the deeper players will stay through adversity. It's important to have those people, as it shows their strength and integrity. The realization that this is a game at the end of the day is integral. Adaptation is one hell of a trait.

It's hardly my ideas of 'fun' that are driving your allies out of the game/against you, now is it? I'm not the one deciding why your former allies either get betrayed by you, go inactive or delete. That's entirely on you, and it always has been.
If you leave a game about politics because you can't adapt to new playing conditions or a turmoilus environment, I think that's called a career politician, but one that isn't getting paid.
