  1. Apparently I can't predict my OWN future, though. As some of you know, a few years back I was in middle management in Manhattan when I was involved in an elevator accident that broke both legs and put me in a wheelchair for 6 months. Thanks to lots of rehab, my legs healed and I learned to walk again (believe it or not, you lose the ability to balance pretty quickly) but I had many circulation and heart problems plus deteriorated muscles from sitting around. I did rebound and was on the mend but what also happened a few years back was Covid19, so at the worst possible time I ended up working from home and not doing my body any favors. Last year I went to get an annual physical and I failed it totally. The bloodwork came back looking like a Xmas tree display, red and yellow and green boxes everywhere. Then I got other things happening such as high blood pressure and a heart murmur, and the hits just kept on coming. I'm not a pessimist, but I was convinced I was a goner. Then I had my annual physical yesterday. The bloodwork came back all green. I had an Echo EKG thing; no problems. Blood pressure is where it should be; heart and lungs and skin and breathing and whatever, all normal. The doctor threw me out of his office and told me he had real patients to worry about; come back in 6 months or a year for a check-up, otherwise bye-bye. Well he told me he was pleased with my progress and my agreement to follow his diet-and-exercise plan to the letter, gave me a pat on the back and told me to stay healthy, then he kicked me out. Now I feel silly that I gave away all my fake PnW billions to people in the Delta/Johnsons since I had incorrectly predicted my own demise, but what is done is done. Besides, now that I know I have another 40 to 50 years (or whatever) ahead of me, I can earn it all back.
  2. This is honestly something to think about. This is the first time in a year I've read a good argument for why I should have more than a few cities. Sadly, I just gave away all my billions last week when I thought I was going to die. (In real life; I was in an elevator accident a few years ago that put me in a wheelchair for 6 months, and while my legs healed, I sadly gained some circulation and heart valve problems, and some anger/bitterness over my probable imminent demise.) Well it is what it is.
  3. I'm just a penguin but see... me power an entire infantry... gonna set the entire world free... for birds that can't fly.... It takes a lot of tenacity to always be a little C3 I'll be raiding for eternity for birds that can't fly....
  4. Hmm... since this is meant as a debate topic, not as an advice topic, then I'm going to start with "22 Nuclear Plants" as the first answer. It has the advantage of having never been tried by anyone before, and no matter how often you get attacked, you'll always have power so long as you have a nation of at least 50 infra. I mean, that's very important, the need to have power in your city. There are probably other people who will debate other answers; since I just made this up off the top of my head, I'm open to listening to what they have to say. I think this is a cool debate topic actually. Let's see what happens!
  5. What happens now to the secret treaty between TI and TKR if they're allied publicly?
  6. Wait.... someone in Cataclysm renamed themselves Kyle Rittenhouse?
  7. Oh, he's also in Dual Suns, the alliance that will last forever? (Don't hate me OFW, it's a private joke we were discussing on the Mystery Sphere server yesterday.) Anyway, congrats on C24!
  8. Huh. I've finally been playing this game long enough that I can totally predict the future.
  9. Huh. Good to know. I was actually chatting with Giovanni today-- I apologize for necromancing this old post, but your words from the past are wise, and I will heed them.
  10. I have been reading the OFW for as long as I have, and this is the first time I actually read a post and had absolutely no idea (not even a little bit) what it was about. Which is similar to trying to read Bernie Sanderson's Stormlight Books. I know that Yzard is the FA guy from Aurora, so I assume this is about those guys somehow, or something. Did they disband or merge or whatever? I don't care. I support whatever this thread is about! Yes to these guys! Sure, why not?! You guys... do whatever you're doing! YES! Like my first ex-wife used to say: "Make that field goal around the bases with two spares and a strike! Go for it! YES!" She was very enthusiastic, and still knew more about sports than James Dolan, but ... you know, now I have empathy for her. You guys keep doing Orbis stuff! Yes!
  11. Hmmm... so this happens, then an hour later Velyni Vas decides to leave Oasis. Coincidence? Paranormal fact? Jonathan Frakes and I will let you decide.
  12. Reading through these categories, I realize that I have wasted all of 2021. Since there's no category "Will still be a C3 in 2023," and even if there was, Leon Bloombergsteinbaum (I forget how to spell that) will win it. On the other hand, I'd like to nominate "Best radio show or podcast" as a category. You can add "best show not set in Kentucky" if you want to make it more fair.
  13. Ok, I'm no longer with the Enterprise, so this is of no concern to me. Feel free to close this; sorry for the bother.
  14. https://politicsandwar.com/nation/war/timeline/war=1160740 Active Wars attacked one of our guys in the Enterprise, and I was asked to do a counter. Once I did, he admitted it wasn't a real attack. Well, that makes it war slot filling.
  15. Tomorrow, Oasis realizes that going it alone is no picnic, and announces a new treaty with The Johnsons.
  16. If you click on the city of Teshima in the nation of Teninsho, you will see a list of stuff that you can build. On the right hand side there is a military tab. In this tab you can build barracks, factories, hangars and drydocks. These allow you to build soldiers, tanks, planes and ships respectively. You can build 5 each of barracks, factories and hangars, and you can build 3 drydocks.
  17. I hate when the cynics in this place are confirmed to be right. Dang it! He's already left "The Round Table" and is in some space-themed alliance, "The Galactic Republic." Damn you, salty people of the OWF! You all win again!
  18. I'm really glad you had a good time here! I don't know you, but I'm still able to appreciate that someone else has enjoyed themselves! Good for you!
  19. Did you get Wilson's permission to post this?
  20. It's the name of some new DoW currently going around: Los hermanos Must Fire On inactive Alliance Something about being attacked for giving away spoilers. I didn't have 20 seconds to read about micro news, but that's the gist of it.
  21. Maybe not, but I got the achievement for defeating Mountania on Valentine's Day, so that's close enough. If he's just another inactive, that's okay with me.
  22. I'm currently reading "The Way of Kings." It's a great book. If not for Benfro, I never would have heard of it. Good luck in your retirement, man.
