Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, 2020 At the entrance of Terminal 1, a black limousine had been waiting to welcome the arrival of the British Representative to the Kingdom of Sweden, Ada Wong. A short ceremony was conducted lead by Danish Governor Mathias Køhler before the both of them were escorted out in the limo. The destination was the Gothenburg Manor, where a meeting has been arranged between Ada Wong and the King of Sweden, Ciel Wolf.

Operation Gustav With the Britannian entry into the war, resistance against the Swedish Expeditionary Force has been substantially declining ever since they landed in The Netherlands. The 15,000 strong 1st Infantry Division lead by Major General Jean Bernadotte was quickly able to liberate the Systems occupied provinces of North Holland and Friesland. This was quickly followed by redeployment to France where Swedish troops assisted the British in ejecting the enemy from Britanny as well as the final port of Bordeaux, where Swedish artillery was able to sink several transport ships before they could be used in evacuations. With most of the Systems Alliance troops captured or defeated, and Swedish casualties totalling around 500, Operation Gustav has been deemed a decisive victory. With negotiations being opened up in Haiti, Major General Bernadotte shall be sent there to represent the Kingdom of Sweden in negotiations.

After a week of deliberation, King Ciel of Sweden has announced that the Kingdom shall be assisting the United Kingdom in dealing with the invasion from the Systems Alliance. The reasoning for this is to continue to status quo on the European continent as well to improve relations between the Swedish and British kingdoms. The 1st Infantry Division lead by Major General Jean Bernadotte shall be sent to assist the army on the European mainland, first landing in The Netherlands before moving on to Brittany and Bordeaux. Consisting of 15,000 soldiers, 500 tanks and 100 artillery pieces. 2 Cruisers from the Royal Swedish Navy shall also be sent to provide naval support and bombardment if needed. Being the first military action taken by the Kingdom, there are high hopes that the Swedish Expeditionary Force will be successful in its endeavours.

Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, 2020 It was a chilly morning as the limousine pulled up in the private terminal of the airport, reserved only for VIPs such as the King, government officials and diplomats. This time was no different as diplomats from The Holy Britannian Empire are expected to be arriving here anytime soon. The King has sent one of his best diplomats to welcome them, Governor Berwald Oxenstierna of Sweden. He and his team will be in charge of making sure that the Britannian diplomats will get a warm welcome in Sweden.

With the prospect of free trade, advanced research as well and it's non-interventionist policy, The Kingdom of Sweden has agreed to publicly support The Systems Alliance, believing that a victory for them can lead to and improvement in relations between the two parties. The Systems Alliance has also shown to be a party focused on the needs of the people especially with their assistance to relief teams in the aftermath of the previous riots. With that, Swedish diplomats have been sent out in official envoys to help assist The Systems Alliance with their campaign, spreading support as well as providing partial funding for them as well.

The Kingdom in the North For several years, the nations in the Baltic and Scandinavia have been in subsequent turmoil, dealing with monarchies, invasions, civil wars, dictatorships and even anarchy. But today another Kingdom rises to unify the people, led by the young King Ciel I, of the Wolfsburg Dynasty, started by the marriage of the former King Zafri Zackery of the Kingdom of Sweden and Queen Victoria Wolf of the Imperial Empire of France. However, this new Kingdom shall be founded with the values of liberalism, enlightenment and autocracy under Ciel, striving to move forward while unifying the peoples of the North. With an overwhelming majority of people voting to join the revived Kingdom and restoring the monarchy, King Ciel returned back to The Gothenburg Manor, standing in front of a large crowd for his coronation speech. “Today, we Northern peoples will reunite once again like we should be! Whether you're Scandinavian, Baltic or even Russian, we all share common heritage and culture. A union is the only natural course of action and together, we will be able move forward and continue our culture. As the Secretary of State arrived at the Gothenburg Manor, she was welcomed at the lobby personally by King Ciel himself as both American and Scandinavian photographers took turns snapping at the scene. “It is surely a pleasure to have you here, Miss Secretary! I really do hope your stay here will be enjoyable” He smiled softly before leading her and her escorts into a private meeting room, where they’d be able to discuss more about improving their economic, military and political stances with each other’s respective nations.

The Secretary of State of the Allied States of America was welcomed at Gothenburg Airport Terminal by the Danish Governor and a small security team. As they were greeting each other cordially, a crowd of citizens also came along to greet the Secretary and hand her gifts of letters and flowers. Soon, she was escorted to a meet up point where a limousine will bring the group to her hotel and later the Gothenburg Manor, residence of King Ciel. Then, talks will soon commence on topics such as foreign relations as well as economic and military cooperation.

With news of a foreign visit by the Allied States of America, it was noted that a representative must be selected to meet with their Secretary of State before she arrives and make sure she will be well received on arrival. Soon, it was decided that Mathias Køhler, the Danish representative and member of the Nordic Council, will be the one who will be welcoming Secretary McCord in Göteborg Landvetter Airport before proceeding to meet King Ciel at Gothenburg Manor. Over there, plans for discussion of diplomatic ties and treaties will be arranged for both representatives and the Secretary will be allowed to stay for as long as she likes.

The past year had seen the once united Scandinavian nations divided fall apart, and go on separate ways with the disappearance of the monarch after the major civil conflicts that occurred in Denmark. Despite the calamity and brief panic that ensued, the now separate nations of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland were able to continue down their own paths, and lay down a bright future for themselves as expansion in Western Russia and Northern Germany continued. Until now, it seemed like the divisions were to stay, if it were not for a discovery of a certain young man, trapped in a cottage in the Arctic North. Just a few days ago, Finnish patrol guards in the area of the Norwegian border were reported to have found the former king of Sweden in a desolate area of the woods when guard dogs had sensed some sort of smell nearby, an intruder perhaps. The dogs were able to lead the guards into a small wooden cottage in the woods, where they found the young king stranded inside, with no memory of his captives or any idea where in the world he was. Luckily, he had been rescued and the news of it had led to many of the peoples feeling glad and relieved, some even wondering what that would mean for the divided nations, who still had a sense of nostalgia when they were a united country. Date: 6th October 2018 Location: Gothenburg Manor, Stockholm In the meeting hall sat the five leaders of the nations, the first time all of them had met together since the fall of the union. On the other side of the table, was Ciel Wolf, leader of the Wolf family and the new King of Scandinavia once the new deal has been signed. With the king back to his former position, the other leaders had very few options but to give power back to him since he still had the support of the armies, which had recently pledged allegiance and utmost loyalty to the new king. Despite this, both parties were willing to compromise, and a new constitution had been drafted in which the nations are to unite as one under the king, but the leaders are still able to run their own internal affairs in their respective nations, swearing their loyalty to the king and the crown. With a nod to each other and the king, the deal was formally accepted and ratified by all parties, leading to the birth of the Federation of Scandinavia. A nation of nations, that will lead a united Northern Europe into further prominence in the world stage.

1st April 2018 With the death of the King of Poland and the Queen of Lithuania, the couple who separately ruled over their regions, it was decided that their only child, the 17 year old Prince Feliks Łukasiewicz would be the one to inherit all the lands to create the realm known as the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth Despite having a shy and relaxed personality, he has shown good leadership and charisma when conducting war, shown during the March to Saint Petersburg. In the event, 250,000 soldiers lead by the king himself marched into Ingria to capture the important port city of Saint Petersburg and it’s 5 million inhabitants. Despite the rugged resistance of the force of 100,000 militia assembled, the besieged city would not be able to hold on for much longer with the Gulf of Finland. Within a few days, the city finally capitulated to the Polish Lithuanians, creating the state of Ingria and adding nearly six million inhabitants into the Commonwealth at a cost of only 28,000 men. This victory has had much effect of the king's popularity, who the people now saw as someone would be able to lead Poland Lithuania out of the decline that it had faced through because of the poor economic decisions made by the previous leaders. With the fall of the North German Federation, many Germans have flocked out of Europe to escape persecution from the French, Austrian and Italian peoples. A majority of them found themselves in the New World, North America. There, they settled on the Western cities of Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary, naming the area “German Columbia”. Soon enough, the Anglo Canadians and French Canadians from the regions of Quebec and Ontario have made a pact with the German Canadians, forming the Republic of Canada. Despite only the recent formation of a united Canadian nation, much progress has already been made to strengthen the country. Construction of roads have already begun to connect the nation from East to West. An assembly of German, French and English leaders have already formed in the new capital, Toronto. The newly elected Prime Minister Matthew Williams will be the first leader who will determine weather Canada will be able to rise and be one of the world, or disappear and be invisible to the rest.

Statement from King Ciel Wolf I shall be departing for Paris first thing in the morning tomorrow, accompanied by my second in hand, General Zwingli. I am sure that the TEA Summit can allow the Federation to reaffirm their commitment in the alliance and discuss our nuclear programs. Other than that, we hope for the very best of results from this summit.

There was nothing but tundra and icy snow for miles and miles around him. The trail behind him disappeared in a blanket of snow as soon as he moved forward. He didn’t know where he was, or where civilization would be, but he knew that he would die eventually. He clearly regretted escaping from that log cabin. At least it had warmth, food and water. But it was only constricting. There was absolutely no one around, and food seem to magically appear in the fridge every time he woke up. He knew he was being held captive and wanted to escape, but now that he did, it probably didn’t seem like a good idea… For hours, the only thing that gave him a sense of direction was a sign that was half buried. The problem is that it’s written in some kind of Cyrillic alphabet. Russian? Ukrainian? He couldn’t tell the difference at that point, but he knew that it led somewhere. Suddenly, he heard shouting from the woods. Russian? It was definitely Russian. He couldn’t tell if he should be glad or scared, but at this point, there was nothing else he could do. He started to walk in the direction of the forest, where we could hear more shouting, rustling, a…a gun clicking…? And then blank. Suddenly, he woke up, drenched in cold sweat. His heart rate and breathing were fast, as if he was running. He looked around, nothing but darkness, and then the door swung open, blinding him with light, “Your Majesty, it’s time for breakfast.” Zafri was quite a strange person in many ways. He was the leader of one of the major nations of Europe, the North German Confederation. However, analysts have proved that he was of Swedish origin, and he could only speak basic German. No one seemed to have any memory of his past, his parents, or whether he had any siblings or not. Of course, there were many rumours, some saying that the family took over the country through war, others saying that the German family had died out and that the Swedish were their legal successor. But in reality, no one seemed to question it, not openly at least. The young teenage king was like any other teenager; feisty, curious, adventurous, but he was a very lovable character due to his youthful looks. Unable to recall his past, other than the dreams he had, he tried again and again to look for answers, but nothing. Months of research had been fruitless, and he soon thought of just forgetting it and just focus on leading the Confederation. It was dream of every major politician to reunite with the rest of Germany and Zafri seemed to be the only person to do it, either through diplomacy or war. But as of now, only time will tell if he would be remembered as a great leader, or that his name would only be a footnote in history…

The marriage was in Johor Bahru was lovely, grand and…unique? It was probably one of the most high-profile marriages to occur in the Scandinavian colonies. The Governor of Macau and Singapore, Li Xiao Chun, Leon, who is of Hong Kongese and Chinese descent, was marrying to the Sultana of Johor, Zarith Sofiah, who is Malaysian. Despite being part of Amenria, the provinces of Malaysia were still very autonomous and with the wedding came a choice; stay in Amenria or join Scandinavia? The Sultana could be able to choose either with little risk of military intervention from either side. From an official state visit to Singapore to marriage a few months later, things were very hectic for the couple, but they didn’t mind at all both for personal and political reasons. The marriage itself was very intricate, with Chinese and Malay cultures mixing with each other like a salad. Chinese decorations, Malay dress codes, an assortment of food from dumplings to traditional mixed rice. Despite the ‘clashing’ of cultures, all seems to be going good for them. Eventually, it came time for the Sultana to make her speech to the crowd of guests on the status of Malaysia. As she went up onto the stage, the chatting immediately silenced as she began her speech. “My fellow Malaysians, I am honoured for those who are watching and those who have personally came to celebrate this joyous event. Some have been wondering about the status of the state now since my partner is from the other side of the border. Amenria has been a great partner and ally, but I believe that to fulfil our political interests in the region, we will be joining my partner and the Federation of Scandinavia. May the Malaysian and Johor Sultanate continue to co-exist with the Scandinavians, Singaporeans and Macanese people! Almost immediately after the speech, colonial troops began to march across the border into Johor, Malacca and Kuala Lumpur, crowds watching as the flags of Amenria were taken down and the Scandinavian and the Malaysian state flags were hoisted in place, prompting cheers from the people below. The two carrier groups sent to police the region lay just off the Eastern coast to guard the shores from foreigners, namely the fleet from Mogatopia that was sent to the Riau Islands, or…whatever remained of them… Even though Macau was still blockaded, Scandinavian officials were able to convince the Amenrian government to let food and medical supplies reach the isolated island by land, softening the effects of the blockade. However, the situation still seems to be worsening slowly. Eventually, action would be taken to break the blockade, whether it will be through diplomacy or war…

There were almost two dozen workers who witnessed the incident. Some did try to stop him from running but they immediately stopped as he crossed the border. No sane person would continue after having seen the numbers of bloody trails that start right on the border… Instead, all they could do now is just pray and watch as he dashed into the forest like a mad man. The commander is charge would have been screaming at the men to get back to work, but he was also unquestionably curious about what would happen to the guy. Unlike other cases, where people presumably die as soon as they cross the border, he was definitely alive hundreds of feet into the other side. All they could now was just wait as he disappeared. Just moments later, the silence was broken by the screeching of perhaps hundreds, even thousands of bats. Those who weren’t wearing any kind of audial protective gear immediately found themselves laying on the ground, covering their ears from the high-pitched loud noise. After what seemed like an eternity, the screeching finally stopped and a massive “THUD” shook the ground. Bewildered, the workers took a few steps back, confused about the sounds. Before anyone could say a word, what appeared to be a projectile suddenly came flying towards them. Luckily, it didn’t seem to hit anyone, only crashing into a pile of logs. As the dust settled, some workers approached to see what the object was, only to be horrified by the sight. What they saw was their colleague, or at least, what remained of him… The body was totally mangled from the collision, his legs were bent the other way around, and his body was bent at a horrifying angle. What got most people frightened was the bite mark that was on his neck. Before anyone got closer the body, the commander yelled, “What are you doing idiots?! Don’t touch that thing! Who knows what crap it could contain… A virus outbreak is the last thing we need…” Soon a sound of an armored truck was heard as it drove towards the construction site. Men wearing protective gear ran out with medical equipment, but most of the workers knew he was dead already. After an hour of examining the body, a they stuffed it into a black bag before loading it into the truck. “Where are you bringing it?’’ “The incinerator, then the Arctic Sea…” And with that, the truck sped off into the Arctic tundra, while the workers continued to build the wall.

The borderlands between Scandinavia and Walpurgis were nothing but miles upon miles of frozen tundra, forests and wolves. While the Scandinavian side was relatively barren of any civilization, stragglers still loomed around, curious about their new neighbour, or simply just lost while hunting. However, as soon as they walked across the unmarked border, intentionally or not, all they could feel would be regret as just one step was enough to send blurry dark figures dashing from the woods towards them… followed by a sudden sharp pain in their necks… Somewhere on the outskirts of Saint Petersburg… “Build it…’’ “But Sir…the costs would b-” “Build it…or you’ll be hanged for treason…” “…Yes Sir…” Soon enough, the quietness of the Arctic wilderness was broken as dozens of patrol squads, using maps and GPS’s, started to mark the border. What they couldn’t see were the shadowy figures hiding in the forest on the other side, observing them wherever they went as they hammered markers and posts onto the ground. However, every few hours or so, a squad would find trails of frozen blood on the snow and grass. No body anywhere to be seen, just a long straight trail of blood that leads to the other side… With each trail found, the squad would say a brief prayer, before moving on. On that day, close to a hundred blood trails were found… Once they finished marking the border with thousands of poles, sticks, trails and signs, the squads left just as suddenly as they arrived… Just a few days later however, the silence was broken again, except this time by the sounds of trucks, vans and heavy machinery. Construction workers on both the North and South sides of the border began building what appears to be a border wall. It was nothing grand though, with fences messily tossed together from the trees, just high enough to not allow any normal person to jump over. It was clear that this was just the first phase, but what was more peculiar was the pikes and barbed wire being placed. It wasn’t facing outwards… the whole wall wasn’t meant to keep them from coming in… but it was meant to keep us from coming out…

Statement from King Ciel Wolf While we are disappointed at the turn of events that have occurred, Scandinavia will not be intervening in the war as we still wish to maintain warm relations between Laurentia, the Holy Britannian Empire, and the Corporation. However, we will not be letting foreign warships through Federal waters in the North and Arctic Seas except for medical ships. Regular civilian trade will continue uninterrupted but any civilian vessel that does not comply with our naval patrols will be treated accordingly. Other than that, I would like to wish the best of luck for the combatants and that this war will be able to end with as little bloodshed and suffering as possible.
