1. Yea. Apparently retirements in this game are usually disappointing. Overrated.

No idea what you're on about. I can't recommend retirement enough.

Mikey, I was thoroughly expecting to be disappointed when you sent me this dow link on fb, but genuinely well done this time. Brought a tear to my eye and a chuckle from my lips :) Didn't make me think about coming back though ;)

Have fun and good luck guys. Merry Christmas.

Also my old Mensa and BK friends, have fun warring. You'll understand if I refrain from wishing you luck this time ;) Though as I recall, you rarely need it XD

    An Announcement from House Baratheon
    and the Great Snek Lord

It is with heavy heart and deep sorrow that I put these words before Orbis today. Recently, after a long and fruitful reign as King of Seven Kingdoms, I came to realize that SK was not enough for me. Through commune with the Seven, I had ascended to a higher plane. After much thought, and consultation with my dear friend and blood brother, Partisan the most Unholy, I realized my calling. I had to leave the Seven Kingdoms, and move on to my true purpose -- taking the wealth of the world and showering it in my leavings as Partisan and I built a Great Snek Empire that would span all of Orbis and last Ten Thousand Years.

But I would never leave Seven Kingdoms vulnerable, and without the firm hand of a great leader. Having no true-born children, I consulted the Septons, the Maesters, and prayed to the Father for wisdom to guide my choice. And then, like a thunderbolt from a clear blue day, my prayers were answered. The Father revealed to me the one true choice as my heir: Pfeiffer: Baron of House Qorgoyle, Lord of the Desert Marches. And so I proclaimed him my successor, and sailed off into the Smoking Sea to seek the Elixir of Ultimate Duplicity -- the missing ingredient in completing the ultimate triumph of Partages.

Yet the hearts of men are ever fickle and corruptible, prone to evil and betrayal. While taking a respite in Braavos, it became apparent to me that a cloud of darkness has descended upon Westeros. Petty, grasping, desperate men have thrown the realm into turmoil, seeking power they have not earned, and that they lack bearing to yield. From the East, Cody K of the calumnious Blackyfyres returns, bringing fire and death to reignite his fraudulent claim. Even ever loyal and honorable men such as Mikey have been led astray by the wicked -- in his case by Sabriel, who once again proves the Boltons to be ever treacherous and unworthy.

This state of affairs cannot be tolerated. There is one true King of the Seven Kingdoms, anointed by the Seven, Dio, and Khorne, crowned by the Royal Proclamation. Pfeiffer is the one true King of the Seven Kingdoms. All who deny it are our foes.

Diplomacy and peaceful resolution were attempted, and rebuffed. These false pretenders have chosen the ultimate treachery -- forceful rebellion against the rule of not just one, but two rightful Kings. They are declared Anathema and damned to the deepest of the Seven Hells. The Father will have no mercy on their souls, and We shall have no mercy on those who persist in treachery. Surrender, and your lives may be spared.

Persist in this treachery, and your lives will be forfeit, your lands plundered, and your women ravaged. Arrgh and the Iron Islanders will be permitted to rampage through your lands unchecked. Fire, torment and death on a scale never before witnessed will be unleashed upon you.

With the blessings and approbation of the Seven Who Are One, War is hereby declared on all knaves in rebellion against the rule of Pfeiffer, First of his name, Archduke of House Qorgoyle, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and of the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm. All loyal men and allies are exhorted to lay waste to the pretenders.

Signed: Tenages, Archduke of the House Baratheon,
G.V.O., Plotter of Plots, Leaker of Leaks,
Hammer of the Seven, One-Half of Partages

  3. Interesting fact. Steve is the first person to ever flat decline an invite to the show.

Though there are a few who we never even bothered to ask, since they'd made clear they'd never in a million years go on the show. Impero for one iirc. I feel like Pfeiffer also made it clear he'd never be on, though I could be completely misremembering that.

  4. If he feels Pre, as the moderator, would be too antagonistic to him, maybe it would be worthwhile to find a more neutral moderator to alleviate that concern.

    It's Pre's show so............no.

Because I leaked a conversation he and I had about his disliking of VE in a thread where he was talking about his ever present love of VE.

As for the show, I shit on pubstomper plenty in game and on the forums. My radio shows are something else where I'm not IC basically. I was plenty nice with pub. The same would have been true with Steve.

I can vouch for this. Pre and I have done shows with any number of people he shits (or was shitting on) and even at war with at the time. Saru, SRD, Pub, etc. He's done even more with Malone that I wasn't part of. Pre's always let the guest have their say and had a back and forth conversation. In the Saru show in particular, as I recall a lot of people thought Saru got the better of the exchange.

I was simply speculating as to why Steve might not want to come on.

  5. Pre and Partisan are both current antagonists of him. He may have felt outnumbered.

And while I'm friends with Steve, and I link to think reasonable, I'm also friends with Partisan and Pre, as well as in tS. So that's not really balancing the scales from his POV I'd imagine.

That being said, Steve come on bby. You can hold your own, and someone needs to push back on Pre.

  6. Sorry it took so long to upload guys. There wasn't even really any post production on this one, it was simply me being lazy. Shows up now. You can access it here: http://7kingdoms.net/radio/feed/podcast/prefontainevarietyshow

All new episodes propagate to that rss feed when I upload them, so you can just follow that and you'll always have the show as soon as it uploads.

Or you can subscribe via iTunes and it will automatically pull (and download if you want it to) the latest show. If you wish to subscribe via Itunes, the following link should take you there: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/prefontaine-friends-variety/id1045137063?mt=2

  7. SNot that I want to return but I'm curious, how many people still do this? Also with Sabriel leaving SK is it still around?

SKRP is actually fully separate from SK the alliance. They're both part of the larger SK network of sites (along with Aperture and some other shit) but they've got independent forums, different leadership, etc. Sab could leave PW entirely and it wouldn't have any bearing on her being involved with SKRP.

It's been a while since I popped my head in over there, (I usually only put in an appearance when Sab tells me my !@#$ing with the server broke something) but I think there's a couple other RP's beyond the original SKRP that they've started up.

  8. AND SO THE RACE TO POACH BETULIUS BEGINS

P.S. I'm hurt that you didn't thank your historic enemies, too. </3

Keegoz and I will have to find something new to posture over :P

GL with your next step everyone who was in CC. Thanks to Cobalt for the aid and friendship y'all provided SK over the last year or so.

  9. ^Screw you Tenages :D

Hey now, I was extremely literal when I told you that once we took out VE, SK and Rose were going to be in opposite blocs opposed to each other. I meant "literally as soon as it's over." Radical honesty. B)

Also hate to dispute your statement re: the effectiveness of butterknives, but I sliced the shit out of my hand with one of them sum!@#$es.

  10. I'm sure Arrgh will be back to menacing the seven seas of Orbis and all who live there again in no time. Pirates who don't raid are a contradiction in terms.

Of course by the same token, the rest of us aren't pirates, and a politically involved "traditional" alliance who sits back and ignores raiding of their allies and friends is a sad waste of space.

So I guess what I'm saying is this is nature working as it was meant to be. Pirates raiding, and the forces of law and order striking back :P

I still <3 you Ogaden. Arrgh is pretty okay too. A world without raiders would be more boring.

  11. It's generally held (Or at least in my case) where the Emperor cannot decide who from the lords should become the next Emperor. So when I stepped down Caillou and Belisarius ran for Emperor, you are then elected for life. Rose is more of a oligarchy, which is good because the only people who should be in-charge of making decisions are the ones who at least know what is going on.

That's nearly exactly what we do. Only difference is we have that election beforehand, so the successor is known.

i.e. The King doesn't pick his successor, the Small Council does. They pick the KH, he auto takes over when the King steps down. Once you're King you're King for life.

Generally seems to have worked pretty well for us over the last 5 years. Oligarchy ftw.

  12. I remember you! Weren't you one of the people that jumped ship when the water got a bit treacherous?

lol what? I fought an assload of people in that war, and Atzuya was easily the toughest one who fought the hardest, despite being hit by 3 people as strong or stronger than him while he was fighting a bunch of offensive wars.

The idea that he jumped ship (during the war at least) is laughable.

  13. o/ and all that shit friends. Glad to see you over here. Thrilled to be giving a hand while you jumpstart your growth.

Though, minor quibble, it's just "Seven Kingdoms" not "The Seven Kingdoms." The former is awesome. That latter is a shithole from another realm :P

    /end pendantry.

  14. I love you TheNG. I just love you. However I do have to say, you showed a lack of commitment to illegible announcements by providing a spoiler. Ignore the naysayers and leave it out next time. I have to drop half a star, and give you a 9.5/10.

Congrats on the promotion and charter revamp, good luck going forward guys.
