Krampus, Kinder-eggs will not be understood by our American friends. That is an illegal substance in their country.

We now have an FDA compliant version with the toy and chocolate separated in different halves of an egg shaped package.  But I also remember my German language teacher in high school rewarding us with illicit black-market products if we did well on a test, so it's not like we've never had them, lol.  We know about them and how dumb our gov is.

    Anyway.

Alex is fully aware of how important war is and how bad the map issue is. He and 3 other devs have spent literally 100s of dev hours trying to fix it to no avail. It is unfortunately the worst type of bug to fix. It can not be reproduced on demand and only a couple of requirements for it to happen are even known. It's only on the live game and only during globals so chances to test fixes are few and far between and come with the risk of breaking the game in a critical time frame.

Sounds to me like an uncontrolled race condition.  Perhaps check the legitimacy of an action in more than one spot, both upon initiation of the action and also immediately before execution of the action.

How many of those was CoA an aggressor?

I mean, times that we have specifically been the aggressor, just this once, but I assume you're meaning times we rolled in with our allies.

Does this include times that it was obvious people were gearing up to hit us so we decided to get the jump on them and hit first, or no? Like, remember that time y'all had secret treaties with every other bloc in the game to curbstomp us?  Fun times!

I think you're projecting. Correcting rewrites of history is not salt. You weren't in on the initial blitz and, from my understanding, you guys weren't invited and you joined late of your own accord. And you just affirmed that it was over getting hit, just as I had said, which is fine - that's a valid enough reason to go to war. You didn't hit for hegemony whatever though and your entire history after that shows that because there have been plenty of opportunities in between to be just that, as other alliances have done. Painting yourself retroactively as a historically anti-hegemony force is a little much. If you want to be one going forward, by all means, go for it.

I have never seen someone projecting so hard that they project about projecting.  This is quite an achievement.

The fact that your first crusade was Knightfall and also against us amuses me.

I wish to sincerely congratulate you for uncovering this cryptic secret of our DoW posts, it takes a lot of IQ points, at least maybe in the double digits, to figure out the hidden meanings at play here.  Well done!

Let me put it in simple terms:  James is one of the last people to talk about pixel hugging.  Especially with his history.

But you are correct, it is a good move.  Just...  don't talk smack about pixel huggers when you're probably one of the most notorious ones, you know?  (Not you, to make it clear, just a generalized statement)

Oh yeah we're ultra pixel huggers. God damn this is some of the most delusional nonsense I have ever seen. Absolutely unhinged. I don't even know where to begin, this is just so imaginative. We've always been there 100% of the time when called to fight.  Please pass the bong, I want to try whatever the hell you got in there.

I will give you a cheat code however. Clock can singlehandedly end this "hegemony" whenever it feels like wrapping up its lopsided and (in my personal subjective experience which I hope you may respect as I do yours) cowardly field exercise on small, disorganized Backroom (for whom I happen to hold much love.  Hi @Daveth).

How is Clock "cowardly" for responding to an effort, fully admitted to, to orchestrate a curbstomp against them?  It would be irresponsible to not punish the instigators of such a conspiracy.  You're a funny dude, dude.

I am surprised by the ammount of butthurt here. For starters lets get to a point that this is not a secret treaty. Majority of the people crying over this here are from alliances who have had similar agreements left and right. No one just has posted them publicly.

Secondly. Why does Clock think they get to keep doing double wars. Roll the Back Door, don’t rebuy infra and roll either Rose or HW while it’s cheap. Seems kinda boring.

how is it boring if it produces priceless entertainment like this though tbh

    Your alliance's existence is.

the entire game is tbh.  but this panicc agreement is just super silly.  like anyone wanted to suicide into you off of this war.

well, i guess, if your main ally is rose, you have something to be worried about.

I don't imagine this will be a very popular post from me, but I'm not exactly here to be popular, so I'm not particularly bothered by that.

Far be it from me to tell people what they can and cannot feel, that is their right as people. If you love this announcement, great, good, I'm happy for you. If you nature this post, ok, cool, that's your prerogative.

I will say though, the response does amuse me to an extent. The only reason people would be upset about this is the fact that it gets in the way of their plans, one way or another. I don't know if Clock or Backroom wanted Celestials and Hollywood to fight while THEY fought. I don't know if Backroom is upset because they wanted Celestials or Hollywood to join the war to defend them, or something.

The biggest thing though, at least from what I have seen, that people are upset about is article 3, and I have to point out, There was no reason to be upset about that, unless you wanted to attack one bloc or the other. It is not a mutually offensive pact, it doesn't link the two spheres to both attack someone, it's not like this is some hegemonic obsessive force. It's simply says both spheres do not want to fight, and respect the other's desire not to fight, and will defend them if someone attacks them. That is all it says, and that doesn't matter unless you want it to attack one or the other. If you didn't want to attack One of the two spheres, them agreeing to defend each other if one is attacked, doing a very temporary period of time has zero impact on you. It's as plain and simple as that.

"I am upset because this means I can not attack one sphere without the interference and defense of the other." is what 95% of people being upset here is, unless you want to make the argument that this sets a bad and dangerous precedent, and in which case, that's entirely dumb for a different reason that we can discuss at a later point in time.

nobody is upset, tbh, we just think it's hilarious.

There was a time when Tyrion was the biggest proponent of mini-spheres, and multipolarity. A time where he felt so strongly about it that he entered Guns N’ Roses. Is this war really good for the game? Is signing the Immortals to an already powerful bloc just so they can hit a smaller sphere really good for the concept of mini-spheres? I find it hard to wrap my head around how this moves the game forward into a better state. The Immortals have abandoned their principles twice now. First when they signed an MDP with Mystery Inc., now when they have joined Hollywood so they can get revenge.

You're only now noticing this?  Wow.

I don't really have sympathy for you.

Last time I checked, (since Rose fa was changing Atlas's wiki) Alex as well moderation ruled it as against their rules for outsiders of eligible government of an aa (even if ex-eligible) to be changing the wiki in another's favor rather than what actually happened, right @Han Solo my friend?

I don't really wish to lower myself to arguing about wiki entries that literally nobody reads, but this might qualify for the absolute dumbest f**king line of argument anyone has ever made in the entire game.

As much as I don't like "top dog"-esce aa's attempting to dictate whatever way possible a section of the game into their favor and get pissy half the time it doesn't, does he realize that this is quite documented in the wiki, right?

Because everything on a wiki is 100% true?  There is no way that someone would lie about something on a platform anyone can edit.

You're complaining about a half a year old cancellation and oversimplifying for the spin of it. Obviously someone will come along and amend it.

I've no qualms in saying that I supported the drop. That said, your failure (or uncaringness) to understand how awful those ties were and how people didn't wish to be even tangentially linked to is on you.

You mistake our longstanding friendships with some sort of "failure to understand."  We understand completely, t$ was upset that they couldn't dictate to us who our friends are.  I suppose at least that it is true we don't give a rat's ass about your opinion of our friends.

Not sure why you're bothering to DC over something fairly old by this point, and that Polaris probably wouldn't bother reading and most certainly wouldn't act on anyways.

Alliances can't dictate their allies' FA (or at least shouldn't be able to), but they can cut them instead if they're dissatisfied with them. Which is what was done.

Not sure why you are trying to make up s*** like us promising to cancel Polaris.  Not sure why t$ has made any of the absolutely mental decisions they have recently.  I suppose it is your prerogative to drop a long term ally for whatever reason you fancy, including our refusal to drop our own allies on your whim, but don't come here spinning stories.  Own your decision instead of trying to somehow twist it into being our fault.

T$ dropped CoA because (among other things) CoA reneged on a promise to drop Polaris; effectively signalling that it chose Polaris over T$.

The subsequent results are not surprising. You're entitled to tying whoever you want, but not to having others just put up with such ties for no good reason. Even truer once commitments start being broken.

I like the part where not only do you think you can choose our allies for us, but that you can also make promises to yourself on our behalf.

Why would anyone want to be CoA's ally ?

I dunno, in this world, it's a good question.  t$ dropped us because we refused to drop our other allies on their whim.  I guess the preference is for a world where nobody is actually loyal to anyone else or has any honor or decency?  Y'all a bunch of monkeys flinging poo, and it shows.  Just look at the utter mess that passes for a DoW posted by f***ing anybody for the past year and a half.

tell me you are a war dodger without telling me you are a war dodger

Who are you, again?  Are you suggesting that YOU would not be willing to fight if the stakes were higher?  I sense a lot of projection in this quip.  I have never dodged a fight, not in this game nor in any other.  Hell, the only reason I even joined in the first place was to fight NPO.  People who raid a lot of defenseless unaligned nations to inflate their "wars fought" and "wars won" scores like to talk a lot of crap.  All of mine are from alliance conflicts, more often than not of which I've not been on the winning side.

That said, my boredom is at an all time high.  So if I am not fighting as hard as I could, note that it is boredom, not cowardice.
