In this game I feel like we spend alot of time complaining about changes that get made to the game, or things that break the game. While most of this criticism is fair, I feel like we should also take some time to acknowledge when you guys do good stuff. With that being said. In what is probably the greatest game change in quite some time, can I just send a hearty thank you to whoever came up with the idea to let use use k, m, b when depositing and sending stuff out from the bank. Holy shit is this 1k times easier than having to count out zeroes. (did you see what i did there?) Great job person that recommended this, and great job to Sheeps and his team for implementing it. Now if you could just undo that change that allows us to choose to use the nation name or the leader name when sending stuff out, that would be great.

I’m sure everyone here has traded on the market at least once, and if your experience was anything like mine then you found it annoying. Why annoying? Because: The table on mobile requires horizontal scrolling. When creating an offer, you have to remember what price and quantity you want to set and not get them mixed up. You need to double think if you want to click that sell or buy button. If the offer on the market is greater than you can accept and you want to buy as much as you can afford you either end up calculating how much you can buy/sell or enter small guess amounts until you run out of money. and plenty more. I’m sure most of you have even made a mis-trade, and while most of them only cost you a few thousand dollars, others have lost millions due to a simple mistake that never needed to exist. Now. Why am I telling you all this? Well, because I have a simple solution to all these problems and more that will make you’re trading easier, faster and most importantly safer. The solution is called DocScripts. Open source, available on all major platforms, and 100% free for everyone. Changes the default amount sitting in the boxes of the current offers to accept and lowers it, if necessary, to what you can actually afford. Because, remember, there are two sides to the market. When you create offers, they can be to sell or buy. And if you create an offer selling resources at worse prices than offers currently buying than you’re creating a mis-trade as you’d make more money by simply accepting their offer. An analogy: If I am buying apples at $10 each then you start selling apples at $7 each, you’d have created a mis-trade as some other third party can come, buy your apples and sell it instantly to me for a $3 profit each. Trade confirmation Trade confirmation doesn't really help, because it is identical and appears for every trade, so after a while you just automatically accept Only have the trade confirmation when you post for the wrong price (and it's not a private trade) (e.g. selling for less than a current buy offer) Have it the prompt really obvious e.g. Red alert style, "You are posting a trade for less than you can sell on the market. Consider adjusting your price above $XXX or accepting an existing offer <link to trade page>" -> button "Post offer anyway" Allow creating trades via the alliance bank instead of using your nation Alliance bank -> bank trading is already a thing. It's inconvenient to find buyers/sellers for large amounts because there is no centralized market. No one wants to put many billions of resources on a single nation, because it limits who can trade and it's riskier, especially leading up to a war Current trades e.g. food, have a cap of 1m or something (which doesn't need to be there) Change the buy/sell offers per resource restrictions Restrict it so that you cannot place offers (in a resource) more than the amount of resources you have If a seller/buyer no longer has the required funds to back a trade, remove it from the trade page (it's annoying to accept a trade offer only to get an error) Remove the arbitrary 3 trade limit (denison says it would be abused still, so keep the 3 trade per resource limit) Trade notifications When you get a notification for a pending trade, include a link to accept/reject it. (suggested by Vanek) Merge functionality of the buy/sell page into the create offer page e.g. When you go to buy, enter an amount you want to buy, and the ppu you are willing to pay. If there are buy offers available, accept those for the lowest price. Otherwise it creates an offer (or does both) By default, show a table of the top price of each resource on the create offer page Add a dropdown to show the price history Price history graph Dont use a stacked line chart. It's terrible. Basically unreadable without hovering over each price point and reading the prices. At which point you may as well have a table, since that'd be easier to read. Yes, that is what I'm expecting, because that's what a community is going to want out of the person who's the face of the dev team - especially in a thread that's explicitly about discussion. I can't meet you in the middle because you're not just interacting with me. You may be having this discussion with me, but you're interacting with a community, not an individual. And we're interacting with you as a representative of the dev team, not as an individual, even if we're having the discussion with you. If you come across as defensive and distant in these threads, then the dev team comes across as defensive and distant. That's not something I or the community can change - it is the nature of your role. Heck, if afterwards you can come back and say "this was a common complaint, but we talked about it and decided that it was worth it because of xyz" that's still better than nothing. And I'm not saying every single post needs this kind of response, but if someone makes a particularly good point or there's a point that is repeated a lot, it needs to be addressed one way or another. And a response weeks later in the form of modifications to the idea doesn't really work for people, on a psychological level. It's too disconnected from the original discussion thread. Sure, you'll never satisfy everyone, there's always going to be people who don't like that you didn't do exactly what they wanted. But the goal isn't to satisfy every individual, it's to make the wider community fell heard. I understand better now, though I still think you're wrong. The problem being that I see your point from the perspective of you as an individual, but it just isn't really compatible with the role you've ended up taking here.

I get that - I'm fine with moderating the comments and expecting people not to resort to insults. I was more saying, still remove them, but if you are getting an unusual amount of them it may be an indication that you're suggesting something unpopular. It may also be something where each discussion thread should have an agree/needs work/disagree poll so that people can give a high-level opinion without having to make a comment, and a bit more formal than up/down votes (plus having the additional option that allows for "I could get behind this, but it needs some changes"). So people who don't have the willingness to elaborate can still give their overall opinion without disrupting the thread. Preferably anonymous if polls can be made anonymous.

Okay, but it would help if you actually acknowledged concerns about the change. As it is, it kind of feels like you're simply informing us of the change and then defend the idea. Posts criticizing the idea only ever get a defensive response, or no response at all. Do these discussions actually change your mind? If not, why bother making them? If so, make it clearer when an idea is being scrapped so we can see that talking about it actually works. If all we get is defensiveness and silence when we have a problem, of course that's going to cause more anger than constructive discussion.
