  2. The supposed QoL change to move alliance trades to the global market is silly. It shouldn't need to be integrated in global to become relevant, we in T$ have proven its use and we will continue to do so. 1. Take alliance trades off the global market. 2. Remove the captcha from alliance trade market. Are people really going to bot buy their own alliance resources? 3. If you want to encourage more use, then allow people to toggle alliance as a "preference" when they click on resources on the hotbar or the trade button on the side panel - to automatically redirect to alliance over global.

  3. Hey all, In this last week, some newbies in my alliance had a very peculiar war happen. The opponent had purchased several cities and used them to create a larger than usual re-mil, then delete those new cities less than ten minutes later. In doing so, this allowed our opponent to have free Immense Triumphs and blockade our newbies. As one can imagine, this seems like an unintended exploit of city buying and reinforce mechanics to force a win in a war that would otherwise be trivial in the other direction. It is also largely unfair. This practice also prevents nations with higher scores from countering the quick-reinforcement that our opponent had, as the cities are deleted too quickly for a response without 24 hour surveillance. While this is economically inefficient, it basically makes a blockade impossible to enforce, especially combined with purchasing credits for buying the new cities. My suggestion is this: When a city is bought, you cannot sell that city for 120 turns (10 days), similar to the C10+ purchase timer. By adding such a deletion timer, this would prevent such quick-reinforcement exploits from happening ever again, and even the playing field when it comes to war in raiding tiers.

  4. In this game I feel like we spend alot of time complaining about changes that get made to the game, or things that break the game. While most of this criticism is fair, I feel like we should also take some time to acknowledge when you guys do good stuff. With that being said. In what is probably the greatest game change in quite some time, can I just send a hearty thank you to whoever came up with the idea to let use use k, m, b when depositing and sending stuff out from the bank. Holy shit is this 1k times easier than having to count out zeroes. (did you see what i did there?) Great job person that recommended this, and great job to Sheeps and his team for implementing it. Now if you could just undo that change that allows us to choose to use the nation name or the leader name when sending stuff out, that would be great.

  5. This is a fairly self-explanatory suggestion that should help combat food prices that have been consistently high for many months. The current effect radiation has on food production was implemented when only the largest nations had nukes, when the game was a fraction of the size, when food was only necessary for soldiers and population, and when nuclear winters were an extremely rare event. Currently, "The amount that Food production is decreased by is equivalent to a nation's Radiation Index divided by 1000." Switching the formula from Radiation Index/1000 to RI/1500 would reduce the effect that increasingly frequent interbloc wars have on food production, and would make supposed conspiracies to shut down global food production harder to pull off. It's a much needed move that allows the games economy to better match the current political meta. I plan on writing a more comprehensive redesign of the nuclear system, with input from fellow players, at some point in the next few weeks. This is a band-aid solution of sorts to help lower food prices in the meantime.

  8. I'll keep this short. Recently, someone brought up Hidude's city growth sheet. I noticed it's from March and wanted to update it. Feel free to ask if you have questions. I threw this together in under an hour, feel free to correct me If there is a bug in my code or an error like that. On that note, I only count taxable nations as members, i.e i don't count VMs, grays, applicants and beiged nations. I can't really be arsed to make graphs out of this data, so feel free to if you have the time. The sheet shows the past 2, 3 and 4 months, as I don't have the time to make it more detailed than that, and hidude's is only 4 months old. I'll also include a data dump of city and alliance data that I used, keep in mind its data you can get from the api. (update: apparently the forums don't allow uploading files bigger than 1mb, so if anyone wants the data dump just dm me on discord, its about 200mb) Here it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Tn5Xh0BGrau8s4uGA92b8o9W862u6QQzbjLlSReLyis/edit?usp=sharing code.json

  9. Hello! As you may know, I have been leading Elysium on the test server for a while now. I was considering creating a similar alliance on the main server for a while, and after leaving Morningstar due to communication issues, I decided to stop looking for an alliance that would let me join without Discord and instead create one! Anyway, the Elysian Empire has been created. We are on the Black color trade bloc and have several vacant leadership positions, including FA, Internal Affairs and Economic Affairs. We have no raiding restrictions, low taxes and a lot more that you can see in the alliance description! We accept anyone, including beginners, and have no limits on score or cities for joining. So, if you want a strong alliance that'll protect your nation, check out the Elysian Empire and I hope to see you in our alliance! DISCLAIMER: This has nothing to do with DNN. DO NOT SPAM THIS POST.

  10. We decided that it was not worth chasing them all the way up, though we did purchase a few cities. As i'm sure you're aware, we are a 100/100 alliance and secure our members' holdings, so they were not at any risk of losing much (let alone the $100m or so that the opponent spent). It is also about fairness in the game in general, and not just the specific situation that we were in. Had the opponent had Urban Planning, and the defending nation been an allianceless low-tier nation (or otherwise on their own for the war), they would not have stood a chance - which is very much unfair to the new nation, and may have even caused them to quit.

  12. That is a very wise decision on your part. Running an alliance is seriously no joke. It takes A LOT of dedication and is very time consuming. When you are posting the things you have been posting, especially on the public forums, you are essentially shooting yourself in the foot and then complaining about it while everyone stands around and laughs at you for shooting yourself in the foot in the first place. I genuinely hope that you stick around and continue to play. There is never enough people playing these types of games. The more you play the more you learn, the wiser you get. You should take some time and reflect on the mistakes you have made and then do your best to correct those mistakes. I wish you luck in the future.

  21. Well, I guess it's time for firwof to crawl out of his sobbing corner this year to downvote without reading. I've argued with Alex in the past that the information should just be made public. There's many reasons this benefits everyone involved, though everyone will weigh them differently. So I'll lay them out in the order they come to mind instead of trying to organize them meaningfully. 1.) Balances the field for smaller alliances. Sure many people consider this a con, and I'm among them, but it's still a benefit for many alliances who do not have their own tech departments and therefore rely on sketchily coded bots that accidentally steal your entire bank, or restrict your access to them on a whim of the owner and their cronies. 2.) It makes already public information public in a controlled manor. Alex can do whatever he wishes to try and hide the spy formula, all it really takes is 1 person not selfishly using the code for themselves to just set up a public sheet for everyone in the game to see everyone elses spies, even if Alex implemented the 1k$ cost, I honestly just see this becoming the method of moving forward. All the major AAs just pool their funds into a central sheet, because funding a self-detrimental sheet is still better than having no information at all in wartime. 3.) Spies. Are. Worthless. (Sorry Rose, I know this is a personal attack). The vast majority of alliances, including top 10s can not coordinate the level of sophisticated strikes required to take advantage of a victorious spy war to turn a losing war into a stalemate. It took the collective efforts of more than half the game to accomplish this in any meaningful way. 4.) Just. Make. Spies. Public., God. > Can. You. Use. More. Periods. Please. - inb4 krampus

  22. Please, stop changing things post end, that are internal problems; isn’t it better, for all of us, if the actual causes of the problems are fixed, not covered, with, a bandaid?
    1 point
  23. So the actual problem is that people are using bots to figure out the spy totals and that is slowing the game down. That is some solid root cause analysis there. Ok dev team, go figure out how to fix that. How do the bots pull that data? Do they just refresh espionage screens over and over? if that is the case, just a quick thought, could you put a captcha that pops up every time you go to the spy screen, I think sheepy said something about charging 1000 dollars every time you go to the espionage screen?

  24. While your at it, let’s go ahead and make everyone’s day change setting and holdings on their nation public as well. lol. The best spies are those who are hidden in plain sight!

  25. So why not buy your guy up to 10-12 cities so he can crush the dude back? It sounds like to me, you arent willing to do what you need to do to help your members. Pay to win baby, toss in a few credits, and buy him up to 20 cities, think of the complete devastation he will do to that 4 city nation.
