  1. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Academy Awards to Relocate 2022 Show Today, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced it would be relocating the 95th Oscars ceremony to Mumbai (Bollywood). This announcement comes on the heels of the full scale destruction of the Dolby Theater in Hollywood after the devastation inflicted upon Hollywood during the war. The Academy in a nod to the ascendency of Bollywood films and in acknowledgement of the defeat it suffered in the 2021 Awards Season to Bollywood will be hosting the Oscars for the first time ever in Bollywood. When asked to comment on the matter Queen Benfro of Radiant Studios was overheard saying the following. “They boomed us. Those Bollywood f@@*ers are so good.” Sweeeeet Ronny D of Grumpy Studios was also quoted as saying the following. “They had me in the first half… And the second half.” The Academy has also heard from sources that Vanek of Guardian Studios is driving through the ruined streets of Hollywood begging (through texts) for the address to Bollywood Studios. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences is looking forward to having the 95th annual Oscars in Bollywood, as Hollywood has waved the white flag of surrender. Formal Terms: Signatures and all that Jazz: List of alliances covered in the NAP: tl;dr

  2. GW16: Ends with blanket NAP Literally everyone: NAPs are bad Literally everyone: NAPs encourage political stagnation and mindless pixelhugging HW: Offers no NAP to Roasis Inc in order to set a good precedent tS: Agrees with everyone (caught in 4k) Rose: (Absent from the political picture as per usual, wants to pixelhug and scared of getting clapped by BW so probably simping to Oasis to roll BW after NAP as we speak) GW19, BW + Rose: For shame! Shame on you!

  3. Interesting, "formally surrenders" = admission of defeat, no? If so then props to Rose for being a class act and not insisting on white peace after we spared them from what would have been the most embarrassing L in Orbis history, after getting rekt by a coalition half their size, but I guess they just needed the ego boost. Can't wait to see who they blob together with next war for their 4th consecutive dogplie in globals.

  5. But then this just seems like a cop-out, doesn't it? Just because there are questionable mechanics doesn't mean you can't call out alliances or players for being pixel huggers. Ok, a couple points, feel free to correct me here ofc: -Regardless, that's still your opinion independent of tS's that NAPs are bad then, no? -AFAIK you still do work in tS (or at least advise), so saying you're retired isn't 100% accurate imo; but regardless I think it'd be nice to hope that the opinions of you three still hold weight in tS -The only two other relevant spheres are Oasis and Mystery. Do you expect anything politically dynamic to happen out of either bloc? (Me neither. Unless you're looking for an Oasis vs. Mystery war?) Neither are ever going to declare war on Rose, neither are dumb enough to hit BW on their own, and HW is basically dead after fighting who knows how many wars in a row so I doubt they're looking for trouble. It's also my opinion that tS would thrive without an NAP in a less stagnant environment, and also that HW needs a less stagnant environment in order to shift in a way that I think you would be happy to see. Just my two bits. Yeah but then if your argument is it's because they won't declare war on each other within a short period of time anyways, then why not literally just not sign the NAP and have the same outcome happen but with much more wiggle room? Nah, tbh I think it was mostly Rose LMAO

  6. That assumption would be incorrect, it was offered by our opponents, and it wasn't a hill I was willing to die on in order to get peace.

  12. Congrats to everyone on both sides for a hard fought war. A special shoutout to the nations that successfully zeroed and cycled me in the opening round of the war, in addition to the milcom that advised them. Your coordination was fantastic and links to their nations are down below. I was def salty at the time lol but I gotta give credit. And if cult of osiris is reading this, don't feel to bad. Also CoA and TL need to train their small nations better 😄 (they literally had 3k infra, missiled my 11 infra city, nuked my 600 infra city 2 times and many more stupid things) Iirc Syndisphere alone can't. That's what they claimed 🤷‍♂️ you needed rose+syndi. Its just 5 out of 150+ isn't it? It was just white peace by name, everybody know that they lost and were defeated

  21. I'm going to play devil's advocate some because it's fun. I think this is a weak CB. You wanna punish past IQ gov? Fine. I still don't want to see any NPO decision maker return, so I can understand the sentiment. However, all the decision makers in Camelot left the alliance just weeks ago. Epi is the only one really left. Arthur went elsewhere, George went elsewhere (although to his credit, he did try to undermine Coalition B). Epi is still left and he's done a wonderful job giving everyone on this !@#$ called Orbis a reason to swing at him, but the time to punish Camelot for being an IQ collaborator was before all they key people jumped ship. You had 18 months to exact vengeance. Speaking of: Huh? Was there some glitch that prevented members of your bloc from declaring war in-game? I mean, just off the top of my head: -Camelot's Rosian allies were distracted when we hit WTF and friends during one of our Crusades. -Half of Mystery was distracted during Guns and Roses. -Camelot was getting pounded six ways to Sunday back in July against a bunch of random alliances. But even these examples kinda don't matter. A year and a half is a long time even by P&W standards. If you want to make something happen, and you can't get it done in that timeframe, that's a failure on your part. And this is really the post that inspired me to make one in this thread. Flavee's post is basically him saying that what Nexus is doing, is that they're punishing IQ. That the OP of this thread - which is pointed towards Epi but benevolent towards the members of Camelot - is false or misleading in some way. He's saying that you guys should go after all former IQ members and not just those in Camelot to be consistent. Your response to him is to say "well, all I see in Camelot are IQ members, and also they're all either evil or stupid." Okay! Look, I'm not against whacking former IQ members for the past allegiances, but it's kinda weird to say this right after saying you guys have "no ill" towards them in the text of your declaration of war. --- I don't support Camelot and I'm not against Nexus, but upon further inflection, this war is a bit silly (or, at least, the politicking around it is). You want to punish Camelot, but the old guard are either gone or stripped of gov. You name drop Epi and blame him for this war, but then say that's 'simplistic and disingenuous' to say that's all this is about. You say you have no ill towards the members of Camelot, but then say that they're either 'complicit' to some agenda or that Epi is successfully misleading them. Correct me where I'm wrong. I consider myself neutral. I'm just pointing out where me, a dumb third-party, are seeing some issues with the narrative here.

  22. Treaty Web and my arbitrary sphere divisions circa 2021 Minispheres moving forward So many people are probably in the same position as me. Wondering about the future, looking at their own corner of the world, and trying to calculate how to come out on top. This is a great thing. We need people ambitiously seeking their own self-interests in this game, but that ambition must be tempered. Competition is what drives politics, the community, player activity, and overall our fun in PnW. So the question for the longest time has been "How do we foster competition?" The answer has always been "a multi-polar world." Why is a multi-polar world even worth it? Many players are too young to even know what PnW was like just a few years ago. We lived in a Bipolar world and we'd been living in one for over a decade going back before this iteration of nationsim even started. Two sides, permanently destined to fight arbitrarily as boredom peaked. Politics were extremely stale, the slightest change in sphere composition being the highlight of the year. Competition effectively did not exist, often people would go inactive for months waiting for their annual curbstomp either winning or losing. Things did slowly start to change though, despite the efforts of some stuck in the past and saturated with paranoia. Minispheres as a concept began years ago and for a long time was a corner-ideology shared by few. You could've chalked it up with the paperless crowd who wanted to kill treaties altogether, except some people actually bought into paperless while minispheres was mostly laughed off. Now, through design or coincidence, we finally have what I would definitively call a true multi-polar world. So why does a multi-polar world mean competition is inherently better fostered? Well, frankly, it doesn't. While the official treaties and mega-blocs of bygone eras may have disappeared, the habits and thought processes of the individual players have held a little more firm. We've been seeing it over the past couple of years: Almost the entire game uniting against Quack, Quack overrunning the Swamp, Oasis/Mystery Inc jumping in to defend Rose against Hollywood, and now t$/Rose teaming up against TKR/GG. The idea of bipolarity in theory is gone, but in practice we've still seen it effectively every war. Overwhelming force being brought to bear against the unfortunate target. It is my personal theory that we cannot go on like this. If this is the attitude the player continues to hold towards war, then bipolarity will return in true form as everyone seeks security from a world where warfare is either complete victory or total loss. I also personally think this would be a great loss for politics as a whole. I think multi-polar politics opens the door for much more activity, fun, and just generally gives more potential for what can happen. Which is why I think we need to protect it. How do we protect our multi-polar world from returning to a bipolar stagnant state? Firstly, I think we need to seriously rethink our collective war doctrines when it comes to major conflicts. Overwhelming force breeds bland and uninteresting fights as well as stagnant politics moving forward. It leaves a bored victor and a disillusioned victim. If every global involves every minisphere, how does that differ at all from the bipolar world of 2007-2019? Secondly, I think we need to continue pushing the idea of what constitutes a minisphere even further. We should make active efforts to not remain stagnant nor let others remain stagnant under our protections. This is a political game and really only a handful of alliances even play the politics while the rest sit for years in the same sphere, quiet as the grave. I think shuffling allies every now and then, at a reasonable pace not at any kind of breakneck speed, is necessary to flush out the muck that contributes to stagnancy over time. I know not everyone will agree with everything I've written here, and I will be the first to admit that most of what I've said are generalities with plenty of exceptions that make sense. Hopefully though enough people will agree with the sentiment and we can take the foundations we've laid as a community and use them to propel PnW into a new golden age of activity, fun, and interesting politics. Thanks for reading.

  25. NPO and t$ we’re tied together with their own sphere called N$O and this lasted till late November 2019. NPOLT started in June 2019 and lasted till February 2020. t$ briefly was apart of Coalition B when they blitzed Grumpy and Guardian. The big reason N$O ended was because BK sphere (which CTO had a connection through citadel) blitzed T$ and NPO failed to respond to it in timely manner. If BK never hit t$ or NPO responded with counters against BK (that would of been quite interesting ngl) then N$O would of stayed around for a bit longer. So while saying it hurts my soul, Firwof is actually correct about those alliances having IQ ties.

  26. People acting like NAPs are bad and all is just lol. Is that the new way to be cool in 2021 ? If so, you have really low standards guys. Find something else idk. First, this is just 3 months, nowhere near 6 months like post-AC or post-gw14. Second, fighting another war within 3 months between Rose/BW/HW is very unlikely to not say impossible (unless big leak or big drama) even if there was no NAP. If you want action during that time, just ask Mystery or Oasis ? Not us. Third, war is expensive asf and recovering from a global takes several months, TKR can probably relay that since I doubt most of their high tiers/whales got their ROI between gw18 & gw19 (and they chained 3 globals in 5 months, give them some rest). If you want to blame someone, blame Alex for making wars so expensive thus increasing the need for longer peace periods. Fourth, this NAP has more pros than cons for everyone except GG. It's not like you even tried to negotiate it, and if anything that NAP objectively benefits TKR too imo. The only person who made a small comment to show his disappointment about the 3-month NAP is Ronny, presumably because GG doesn't want Rose/BW to feel safe, coercing their whales into sticking to <3k infra to keep Grumpy ahead.

  29. I took 2 hours to go through the wiki, take notes, then whittle down to my conclusion. I obviously above listed all alliances that were allied plus fighting alongside IQ during NPOLT that are still around today. Then after reading through how the war went, I weeded out the one's that peaced but never switched fighting sides (All bolded aa's never truly switched sides, some went neutral at best that switched allies, but never joined the battle again). You guys in BW can't deny that you guys still fought for a long stretch with heavy influence besides IQ. Majority of you were able to seek out peace but then got back stabbed, which only Carth & OWR by forum & wiki never rejoined on the premise against IQ (chose to stay neutral which has it's suspicions on why since it's technically unknown to most why).

  34. Good game. Well played. Easy. No redo. REMINDER that it's not the fault of the players that the game mechanics encourage building infra and pixel hugging as a necessity for long term growth. The people who say this can be right when they say so while being forced to play the metagame by Alex. If you have an issue, who you really should be talking to is Alex, not crapping up a surrender thread. :<

  35. Are you guys fricking serous?! There are still plenty of those alliances around today but most of the old guard is gone. Ex-IQ includes: Black Knights The Commonwealth United Purple Nations Carthago Camelot Polaris Goon Squad Order of the White Rose The Syndicate House Stark Church of Atom The Fighting Pacifists Alpha The United Armies United Socialist Nations Dark Brotherhood Strickland Propane Reference Link: https://politicsandwar.fandom.com/wiki/NPO's_Last_Time Actually, still quite a few of the old guard is around, w/ heavy influence still in a selection of them. What's even worse is this basically prove y'all at Backwater are hella hypocrites for saying you want revenge when most of you took part for quite a while supporting IQ. Yes I understand you guys dropped out then got brought in by your ex allies attacking you. Although their are elephants in the room of Blackwater whom are Carth & OWR who fought one side though peacing as well treaty changes. Other aa's that also stuck through on IQ even with peace include: BK, UPN, Polar, GS, Alpha, USN, DB, & SP.

  36. Is it possible to not turn this into another post centred around TKR? I know that it slightly favors TKR in a way but I think these ideas do make sense... They maybe aren't the best, but that's the point of this post. I really appreciate the effort. The author is not an FA for any major sphere, so please don't go making this a propaganda post and don't reply if you have got nothing to contribute....

  37. -said BW, after dogpiling HW with Rose who could give a rat's ass about the idea of fair wars and minispheres Minispheres only really work when everyone is following the rules and right now everyone is more or less spoiling the pie since they wanna come out on top but don't expect their competitors to play fair either. My hot take is that all spheres are still too large and should ideally be halved at the very least in order to break up the simplicity and mundanity of politics these days, but until then I don't not see there always being a big bad where wars are hopelessly predictable.

  38. If you really wanted to pay us back you should've hit all past IQ members who left Camelot. But no you didn't, you just hit Camelot and blamed it all on Epi because he was the last one left from IQ in Camelot. While others who left (some certain alliances) they get another redemption card. It seems like you are just riding on the opportunity. Also if you really had problems with IQ please make sure to hit those pre IQ members who left Camelot in next 12-18 months. Otherwise punishing IQ will never be done.

  42. Ultimately, I think the formation of Hollywood and the subsequent sudden war on Rose is what brought this war on. This is essentially Knightfall 2. You even had t$ high gov dunking on you guys in public over it the night that war started. Now that you're dealing with the consequences, you wanna complain? My own feelings towards Hollywood were rectified by E404 and CotL leaving, but a lot of people still felt as if Hollywood was a threat to everyone- same as it was with T$-TKR sphere. You guys split up because you don't want to be the bad guy, but then you merge with Hedge to form a bloc that makes t$ and/or Rose feel like they need the help? I do think a Syndisphere vs Hollywood war would've been dope. I think ideally Rose should've stayed out. But ultimately positioning yourself for security also positions yourself to be threatening. It's a big reason why people have swung at Grumpy lately, but it applies to Hollywood as a whole too. I don't know a fix for this except for GG to split off and try something new. Probably won't happen. In fact, it makes sense for you Hollywood guys to entrench yourselves now. But, I'm pretty sure we won't see a formal tie between Syndisphere and Rose, and I think a lot of feelings will reset post-war so maybe we can all try again later. I think minispheres is still a thing and I think politics is the healthiest it's ever been. Y'all have the short stick in this war, but it doesn't have to be that way next war. Fight it out for this war and let's see what happens between now and the next global. I hope this is coherent and makes sense. I'm tired. Gn.
