  1. Orange Man Corporation News Release: Recognition of Hostile takeovers Orange Man Corporation, commonly called TKR, hereby recognizes the attempted hostile takeover by hedge funds T$ and Rose. Both companies have been implicated in predatory actions that have diminished investor confidence. T$ executives have been caught in a series of contradictory statements that has rattled their resolve. One man in a businessman-looking suit wearing a snake costume was quoted "What even is our CB?". Rose company heads have engaged in consolidation that some fear is already too much. Entire industries are now under the behemoth's control after many, many previous mergers. A stout man from somewhere in the midwest with a mustache commented how "Rose took our jobs." Share prices have tumbled for both companies with these revelations. Investigations last night uncovered an operation from the two companies to take down the mom and pop business, Orange Man Corp. with the codename "GG G/G." Execution of this plan was hindered by unforeseen technical difficulties resulting from extra high trading volume on the Sheepy exchange. Upon learning of this, Benfro, queen of TKR, declared that he would begin immediately to take action to protect against the bevy of shorts and puts facing his shareholders. Ben was not the only one to take notice. Soon, an army, with the moniker "Hollywood," were supporting Ben under the ancient principle of "YOLO". T$ and Rose sustained billions in losses of hedge money as investors flocked to TKR. While driving by in rural Iowa, one stereotypical swing voter recounted "TKR made him a millionaire." Internal polling has indicated that TKR has now replaced snek on moon. Now emboldened, Ben sought to acquire assets from both T$ and Rose, setting his sights particularly on the subsidiary, Terminal Jest. Thus, in a surprising maneuver, TKR began its own hostile takeovers of both T$ and Rose began under codename "Orange Man Bad". Rumors circulated that as Benfro announced this, a chant could be heard from the knights of the company. Continuing even to now, the echoes can be heard: "I pledge allegiance, to the flag. Against the $yndicate and Rose. One orange alliance. To prevent ROI and growth for all. Furthermore, I am of the opinion that pixels must be destroyed." - Signed: Orange Man Corp, TKR (soon to be found on the moon). Tl;dr - TKR is ready to dance. May only the worst ROI lead to the moon.

  3. JaxTeller sat astride his mount, alongside his Prince and commanders. They surveyed their men as they rode in column to the front. The beacons had been lit. The Rohirrim mustered. He gestured to his commanders and they rode down together amongst their men. Many would not see the next morning. How many would be beneath the ground before the war ended? A sacrifice the people of Rohan were always ready to make when asked. As the column of riders noticed their King joining their ranks they broke out into song. The Lament of the Rohirrim. "Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, And the bright hair flowing? Where is the hand on the harpstring, And the red fire glowing? Where is the spring and the harvest And the tall corn growing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, Like a wind in the meadow; The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow. Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning, Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?" The Rohirrim declares war on Hollywood, pursuant to our treaty with t$ good luck to all and other such pleasantries

  5. We have been saying we want to fricking roll the ever living !@#$ out of GOB for years now. So, you can !@#$ off the thread if you want. Including the other nonsense is like me saying that alliances should not be hit before their rebuild is done. This war is not about TKR because everyone knows in this fricking game that @Cooper_'s FA Game is weak af and is nothing to be scared of. GOB on the other hand needs to be rolled about 1-3 more times until I get to about c40. That ain't paranoia, maybe petty, but I just wanna fricking dominate the game in every fricking aspect of it. Full on Hegemony shiiiiieeeeeeeet. If I wake up one day and want a Viceroy, boi I want to have the option for it to be done. Another thing, go !@#$ yourself, I don't want any cordiality between t$ and GOB. I want all the fricking smoke. With or without any other sphere, I want GOB leveled to my fricking city levels. Until then, we gonna have the same arguments. Run it back 3 more times shiiiiiieeeeeeeeet. If TKR wants to continue getting the smoke that comes with being allied to you, they can get this work too lmfao. @Cooper_ is just fricking mad the game doesn't give a two shit flying !@#$ about TKR's end of the sphere while he's in FA. The game already fricking destroyed TKR before. Old news. The new meta right now is to bring GOB on eye-level city-wise to my fricking nation so we can just add GOB/Guardian into the mix if we want to make it "fun"

  6. Wholeheartedly disagree. IC refers to you the player, OOC to you the person. Yes, there is crossover. Both are you. But you shouldn't make game decisions based on you the person and your personal feelings on things. You shouldn't attack someone based on them the person versus them the player. For example, challenge me politically in game for your opinions on my in-game actions and things I say in character when we're acting within the game instead of me being a woman or for my political beliefs (as you mentioned) or my personal likes/dislikes or whatever else I choose to divulge to people outside of the context of the game. I think this is a distinction that is harder for general members to see, perhaps. It has nothing to do with shutting down discussions you don't like or anything to do with external politics (which not everything relates to RL politics here, Lexi - arguably very little of it does - but you're a politically minded person, so that's important to you) and everything to do with not letting the personal impact the game politics, which is incredibly important, especially as you rise in involvement in the game. If you want to RP your political beliefs within this game, that is fine. But it has nothing to do with RL politics (which shouldn't even be brought up in game debates) as you're applying it to the context of this game. How will ASM's beliefs as an alliance (not really individually) impact their actions/gameplay? That's what IC means.

  8. It was also the reluctance to sign TKR to begin with and create a much larger sphere, to then roll Rose who was not the ideal target. We took the heat in multiple wars, I dare say we took it in the last more than others.

  9. So if you haven’t worked it out yet, the whole dancing declaration of war was one giant metaphor. Many of you have been clamoring for more details, so let’s unpack it, shall we? “We want to dance,” Is it really any wonder that when you have a prior history of storming our embassy to troll us and you make posts repeatedly to try and trash talk us and our allies? and make IC attacks on prominent members, we’d not be the biggest fans of HW? This really isn’t anything new – you lot have been on us from the start. We watched you guys shit talk BW for months leading up to your aggressive, no CB hit on Rose. We weren’t about to let you do the same to us. But if the “talk shit, get hit” CB doesn’t suffice for you all, I’m happy to show you what else we’ve got. “ you want to dance,” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhMuB5Cqd1w “and we saw you checking us out.” How are those veiled threats working out for you, SRD? It's not like you've even tried to cover your tracks. “We’re not big believers in having to wait for the guy to work up the courage to pull us away from our friends and ask us out, so here we are.” So, there you have it, folks! A DoW unpacked – “Let’s dance!” As an additional note, Cooper got the privilege of seeing a few of these logs a couple days again – a sneak preview if you will. His response? “So your logs show that one of our gov members doesn’t like you?” It’s heartwarming to see treaty partners learning from one another and growing but maybe pick a different lesson than the lack of accountability one, Cooper? I know TKR is a pro at that but – bit of free advice here – it won’t make you any friends. Speaking of which, how many demerits has Cooper earned, Adrienne? Surely he must have received a citation by now. No? Hmm… P.S. Bonus screenshot fun time!

  11. As one of the loudest proponents of the split, allow me to get involved. For the sake of keeping things clear: This response is fully OOC. Let's start with this. As literally anyone in t$ or anyone who knows me outside of the game can confirm- I'm an extreme leftist. I'd leak some of the politics chats from t$ to "prove" it but frankly I can't be arsed because the claim is so innately outrageous it doesn't warrant the time and effort. Let's look into why the split exists in the first place. We all have to play characters to genuinely enjoy this game. Do you really think Partisan is as eccentric, wild, and outspoken IRL as he is IC? Do you think that I actually stand by my "old people are bad", "all communists deserve punishment", etc rhetoric IRL? Do you think @Denison dresses up in a half-assed crusader halloween outfit everyday and goes around to call people weak and cowardly? If you do, re-evaluate a bit. The internet's an escape - games like this even moreso. It's an excuse to put IRL junk aside and be someone you're not. It's no different from if I were to go play DND with some friends, or jump on Gmod for some StarWarsRP. It's something you use to separate from your IRL self for a minute, because let's be frank, the world's in a shitty spot and we need something to go to to get away from it. Let's point out a prominent example of where this can quickly go wrong, especially when certain people are attempting to cross that line and use it for something else. Again, a reminder that since this is an OOC post from me. Also a pre-emptive I'm not here for sympathy or other bullshit, I'm just wanting to make sure this sort of attitude doesn't permeate and ruin a community. From January to right at the start of April, I was dealing with a situation where members of the game were insinuating t$ was a !@#$/!@#$ sympathizing alliance. I dropped character for this, as I believed it (and still believe it to be) a dangerous accusation to make. During this time, I was dealing with helping my mother and my grandfather deal with my grandmother, who'd been in the hospital for most of 2020 and had, in December, been put on hospice care and given a few months to live. I tried to use this game as an escape from the day to day I was dealing with, only to find out I was being accused of being a !@#$ because I was indirectly tied to a group of, let's be frank, trolls. So, to clarify, one of the few escapes I had at the time (thanks to COVID ruling out a lot of other ones), was being actively ruined because of the accusations that were being pushed. Eventually I got screenshots of these and to top it off, it seemed to be an attempt at getting some IC gain (the person leading the accusations was attempting to get a prot of an ally to join them and drop their current protector). I had a few friends involved in the situation that believed the accusations, which lead to us, obviously, drifting apart. In March, logs of/from the main accuser dropped. I read through the logs a few times before, justifiably in my opinion, getting pretty pissed off. I had lost more than a couple people I'd considered friends over the accusations, as well as had to deal with getting questioned about IRL morals by IC folks. A week later, my grandmother passed. I was dealing with the loss of a few friends, my grandmother, and trying my damndest to keep my shit together for my family that needed me. All that shit at once was, frankly, bad for my health and ridiculously stressful. If it weren't for a few folks (you know who you are, and I appreciate y'all a lot), I probably would've completely dipped out of the game with one last "go !@#$ yourself, Orbis". Dropping the OOC/IC line helps nothing. Get rid of the blatant racists, homophobes, etc, but when you drop it entirely you will inevitably make a bad call and cause undue stress and harm to a community and/or person. The game is just that - a game. Let's keep it that way. Let moderation handle the bullshit. Witch hunting does nothing good for the game. Frankly, if this kinda stuff doesn't stop, it'll lead to the death of the game. And you'll be the only ones to blame. OOC over. Adam out.

  12. @Agent W, @darkblade ... do you see what you people have done? When you forget to put the media and investor contacts at the top, and the About The Company statement at the bottom of a forum post, you bring shame and dishonor to all of us. It really looks out of character. Git gud.

Hmm must just be a pirate. I issue counters including myself and then go back to work. More notifications. Did they just counter our counters? Strange. Then I see the message "Hollywood is being attacked by Blackwater and Rose". Well, this'll be interesting. 14. To be honest I think expecting some separation is reasonable as to not devolve the game into complete toxicity and/or make the game unenjoyable for those who simply want to craft a separate political landscape because that's what the game is supposed to be about. In the same vein though, people who target other players either directly or indirectly and make the game unenjoyable should be liable to face IC consequences from others for such, without chastisement. At the end of the day, we all just wanna play this game and enjoy it~

  16. Ultimately, I think the formation of Hollywood and the subsequent sudden war on Rose is what brought this war on. This is essentially Knightfall 2. You even had t$ high gov dunking on you guys in public over it the night that war started. Now that you're dealing with the consequences, you wanna complain? My own feelings towards Hollywood were rectified by E404 and CotL leaving, but a lot of people still felt as if Hollywood was a threat to everyone- same as it was with T$-TKR sphere. You guys split up because you don't want to be the bad guy, but then you merge with Hedge to form a bloc that makes t$ and/or Rose feel like they need the help? I do think a Syndisphere vs Hollywood war would've been dope. I think ideally Rose should've stayed out. But ultimately positioning yourself for security also positions yourself to be threatening. It's a big reason why people have swung at Grumpy lately, but it applies to Hollywood as a whole too. I don't know a fix for this except for GG to split off and try something new. Probably won't happen. In fact, it makes sense for you Hollywood guys to entrench yourselves now. But, I'm pretty sure we won't see a formal tie between Syndisphere and Rose, and I think a lot of feelings will reset post-war so maybe we can all try again later. I think minispheres is still a thing and I think politics is the healthiest it's ever been. Y'all have the short stick in this war, but it doesn't have to be that way next war. Fight it out for this war and let's see what happens between now and the next global. I hope this is coherent and makes sense. I'm tired. Gn.

  17. "A little bit of mercy makes the world less cold and more just." At the onset of this war, our goal has been to deal with the threat to ourselves, not to exact a vengeful price on those on the periphery. The Federation have demonstrated that they are not a threat to our spheres, and thus our coalition has agreed on peace terms with The Federation. The peace terms are as follows. 1. The Federation agrees to return to their peacetime standard of military readiness, agreed to as 1/1/5/1. 2. The Federation agrees to not launch wars against members of Coalition A (including all members of Blackwater and Rose Sphere), and agrees to refrain from providing aid to any member of Hollywood. 3. 18. While I agree with most rule updates, I must firmly and vehemently stand against this particular clause. Though I understand the intent of the rule, the fact that it amounts to overreach is obvious to almost anyone who reads the proposed changes. I personally would advise anyone with a PnW related Discord server to enhance their own moderation, add clauses to their rules disallowing the use of their Discord servers for this particular "moderation" purpose, as well as making sure that public channels are basically locked down and that content is available only to those approved by the staff of the Discord server. Attempts to circumvent and use privately-owned Discord servers for the purpose of moderation should result in a permanent ban to those who attempt it. In simple, and the kindest English I can manage at the moment, "Stay in your lane, sir."

  19. Wait... Npolt is the IQ war right? I seem to remember fighting for 9 months straight, I remember tS trying to take a cheap shot at us and fought for a week where GG utterly embarrassed you despite the fact that you tried to separate us from the war we were fighting (something about secret treaties right?!?!). Then if I remember correctly you sat out for what 4-5 months, while we were participating. I know tS likes to pretend that they are the biggest victims of IQs shit, but we all know that is bull. FYI I know you weren't really in power back then so you might not know, but no one won that war.

  20. I've been wondering the same about your side? I'm confused as to when ghosting all of a sudden no longer was considered an aggressive act? Intentional or not, multiple members of HW leaving to join KT in a war against a Syndicate ally is and always has been an aggressive act. You can't play the "they were bored and wanted to do something card". You folks have been around long enough to know that is unacceptable and should've put a stop to it or came to us upfront and explained that they left on their own accord and you won't be taking them back. Your side did not do that. Instead, you immediately started militarizing when we were forced to militarize in defence of Eclipse. Do you not see how the chain of events unfolded and how your side was coming off to us? And this is all recent, GoB has been continuously hostile towards The Syndicate dating back a very long time. We were dogpiled by them just over 6 months ago. Before that it was TCW. After us it was Rose. During and after the Rose hit, SRD made it quite clear that if it wasn't them it was us and if not then we're next. When you consider the history and pair it with the recent developments you should be able to understand that you're not innocent. And yes, SRD's word is credible. You cannot pass off his rhetoric as a joke as his past actions speak for themselves.

  21. I have zero idea how I missed Aku's ginormous post here lol. I think you need to reread what I said: No shit your worldview is going to impact your actions and yes, you will make mistakes. We are only human. But that doesn't negate anything else I said. Hard is not impossible and simply because you are incapable of not making everything political and personal doesn't mean everyone else is. You are awful at this game and clearly know literally nothing about the player base that makes up our community. TKR is not a monolith and we're definitely not center/libright/whatever other weird labels you're using here. It may surprise you to hear this but an alliance with 180+ members has a wide variance in thought regarding both political interest/engagement and belief. And if I were to give TKR an average political leaning based on what I see of my fellow members, it would be very different than the one you gave.

  22. What Wana posted really looks like it. Don't worry Leo we all know how brave you guys are. I find it absolutely fascinating that t$ of all alliances complains about people talking shit when all they have done in public is smack talk anyone who doesn't hold their hands. Truly amazing.

  23. Let's start with blatant point number one here. Guns n Roses should not have been Guns n Roses. While I love the war name, everything beyond that was an absolute unmitigated debacle of a dumpster fire, everybody had their dumpster fire. Roasis had mind boggling battlefield incompetence and HW had face-desk-inducing FA incompetence. "Oh we don't wanna hit t$ after we split its just like not cool and stuff" oh shut the hell up and just do it. Not only is it literally the smarter option it's the more interesting option. The internal drama and reasons for the split is why it's interesting. The only thing vaguely interesting about what you did instead is that it was pretty completely random and suffered once again for the 10057273rd global in a row from a hilariously shit CB that makes anyone paying attention what the fricking point was of even bothering with it. There's a way to make totally random violence interesting, I assure you. I also assure you you haven't the slightest inkling of a shit on how to do it, so please stop. Now sure I suppose this could've happened sitll if you hit Syndi, but frankly these days I've felt like rose has made itself more of a perennial reactionary actor, soooo, fair chance you coulda walked on by with that? To sum up really killing minispheres though, tl;Dr agree with INH, but also it's because those ebul IRL politics aren't as far away from your IC as you'd like to think. And no I'm not talking about how the rank 2 alliance is a blatant homage to neoliberal capitalism and super corporations, although that is yanno, definitely evidence. I'm talking more about how the general political "meta" for years now is run with the same spineless sort of approach we see from centrists in the real world, anyone knows who joe manchin is congratulations you've stumbled upon the point! Pretty much every global is the same as the last with a rotation on whose getting slapped silly. The CBs are the same, the setup is the same, in almost all cases everybody knows what's happening, and the argument on the forums is the exact same. Treaties are all basically the same, all basically function the same, and everybody's "grudges" are just whoever was on the other side of the nonsense CB arguments in recent memory. Until there's a small treaty changeup and then suddenly the new addition is good and correct and past sins disappear and the people they left nod and agree only for 2 months later they're magically now bad and wrong about everything even in the past. The entire political craft of this game for years is everyone sitting quietly a table, for anyone to do anything vaguely with the same interstellar parsec as a fopah and then flashing their fingers out like lightning and going "AH HAH" and then everyone else at the table proceeds to vibe check with baseball bats. There's no interesting pasts anymore that are really brought up or seem to matter, there's no need to find an actual CB because only one is allowed anyway and everyone openly acknowledges is basically fake nonsense everytime. And this is exactly why minispheres aren't working, because in the theorhetical papers of it, these teamups shouldn't be happening not because of honor. Not because the only good peace now is white peace, that's part of the problem too actually. They shouldn't be possible, because in the theory, you're not supposed to be friends. You're not supposed to trust them. and I don't mean whatever you think you have for distrust I'm talking like, as referenced, pre getting t$ and IQ on the same team kind of distrust. TKR trying to sign NPO kind of distrust. And you know what? White peace might be a nice high horse to ride on, but it doesn't fit the theory. Maybe people need to just actually not Boogeyman about IQ on everything. The word "reparations" does not mean 70bn+. "Oh but nobody would ever pay them" I paid them, me of all people, because the simple fact is there comes a point where any realistic figure asked for like done to me is significantly less than the blood you're gonna lose from saying no. Hell I even like the idea of viceroys, oh sure if you do it you're an !@#$ there's no question there. But that's kinda the point. It's a political simulator and to play the game you have to like, kinda be an actual !@#$. Everyone drones on incessantly about OOC/IC separation soooooooooo what's the hold up? Afraid that droning is gonna be revealed as moralizing nonsense you can't uphold either? Seriously that's the only reason I can come up with. You're like the equivalent of artillery players in World of Tanks moralizing how they're good and necessary for the game. Meanwhile everyone else calls them "sky cancer" and "griefer" and "[expletive deleted] [expletive deleted] clicker piece of [expletive deleted]" and so on and so forth. They stagnate the game, they punish people who try to push the tempo and make things happen as opposed to sit back and hide in a bush, and the moment you point that out as bad, moralize incessantly about it. And that's what it is. FA is a joke to the point where the best path is so often to do as little as possible (avoid fopah risk) that people end up doing nothing and oops that's a fopah too! It takes nothing to hop a sphere which you think is great, but it never dawn's that it rarely happens despite that and the trade off is this. The same war like the same old TV dinner with the same old side of "politics". No wonder player retention is so mediocre, the game would be less boring if people didn't camp bush, and actually did things interesting. I've had a change even I've been mulling proposing but haven't because I think most of you are too busy camping bush to ever use it or even support it to begin with to not use it. I had a wonderful little idea talking a couple weeks ago. Double the color bonus. Or more, 250%! 300% even. Why? Significant income boost for everyone, but not necessarily game breaking - but more importantly, big enough to actually be very important. Yanno like maybe policing your color with force actually becomes advisable, like maybe even being more violent than t$ is sometimes. Maybe so much that protectorates (why do you even protect them again? Political sim remember, if you just do it for the shiggles with nothing else to it, you get this crap, rants from a schizophrenic awake at 630am included) become relevant because now you can stop being amicable about asking them to move colors and intentionally have them sabotage colors of rivals, and then they'll do it back, and then instead of sudden big wars all the time you an have frequent and constant low scale warfare and manuveuring in these power tiers to win smaller localized battles, where guess what, you on top of getting micros fighting experience and killing the bad ones, could test out that reparations and viceroys and whatever the hell else you can come up with and see how it works, shove them off your color too, and then one of the experiments pisses off the superpower behind the proxy, now you have this whole ass web of nonsense and chaos between low tier satellite AAs proxy warring to feed into it. Look again I'm awake at 630am but that sounds more interesting than reading another DoW about how everyone but OP is an evil meanie secret treaty having would be hegemon poop face. Thanks to all the 2 people who actually read all this for some reason.

  24. You and your government are intimately aware of the issues we had getting adequate coverage on the planning of GW16. It's a simple reality that when updeclaring any fairly meaningful amount (not like one or two cities apart from each other) you effectively need at least 50% more nations than the other guy does by virtue of assigning 3 on 2 to offset the fact they're smaller nations and the penalties accompanied with such (worse rolls, needing to rely on dogfights vs the other guy simply being able to ga you for higher effect, etc). This is the unfortunate change brought about by the rebalance Alex introduced the past year. Even if we were to take the 10-20% as being truthful (I'd say not, but for argument's sake let's pretend it is), and assume that said 10-20% actually represent nations in the upper-top and not people in the low tier, that's nowhere near sufficient. The reality is that your sphere, owing the heavy top tier and the escalation of effectiveness thereof, can rather comfortably take on any other sphere solo and have a reasonable chance at victory. The same cannot be said on the inverse. In spirit, it's quite similar to Quack in that as a sphere it was meant to have a reasonable chance at deterring a 1v1 and in good conditions, withstanding a 2v1. The reason Quack retained such set up, though, is because there was a very credible reason for believing that such would happen owing to immediate post-NPOLT diplomatic and narrative developments; to put it in other words, people had jumped to conclusions and began narrative crafting before the people in Quack had any chance to reassess the dramatic FA landscape change that had occurred towards the end of NPOLT and properly adjust to such, instead being forced into the defensive from the get-go. Your sphere lack any such rationale justifying that sort of set-up because you put it together based on what you saw as being pragmatically beneficial for you, as opposed to having what was effectively a leftover infrastructure which was not allowed to be revised. Put in another way, you had a clean slate you could've worked with, and from the ground up went with this. The fact that Quack also showed considerable restraint throughout it's existence, owing exactly due to it's size and perceived threat, while you pretty much didn't care about the latter two as evidenced by the fact that you deemed it sensible to start right off with a war also didn't help matters on your end and how your sphere is perceived. As for the "cowardliness" you mention. As far as I'm concerned, it's rather unreasonable to expect people that have shared interests/concerns which are rooted on credible reasons not work together. And it's certainly something that in the past was used to justify rather lop-sided match-ups, with the rest of the spheres going like "Well okay, your rationale is sound." and largely accepting it. Case in point, the war between tCW and Swamp and HM. Nobody denies that it was a lopsided conflict. People also agree that Swamp and HM had more than justifiable reasons which warranted such coalition. Now, if the concern is irrational or otherwise unfounded, then sure. But such isn't the case here. If I'm being frank, this whole "cowardice" whole line of thought comes across as lazy, unaccountable FA. Instead of acknowledging that your moves were such that alienated or otherwise caused concern among other spheres, you reduce people acting on said concerns in unison as doing so "unnecessarily and cowardly". That's not how it works. It's on you to do your due diligence by not providing said people cause for which to have concerns, or not give them a reason to act against you. This whole situation is essentially you failing to do so and blame shifting instead of acknowledging that you somehow positioned your sphere in such a manner that gardened zero sympathizers from anywhere. I guess, if I have to summarize about HW. It's your prerogative how you decide to set up your sphere. I can understand and respect the pragmatic reasons you had for setting it up the way you did. That said, that goes both ways and people elsewhere are likewise going to find it necessary to act in ways which safeguard their pragmatic needs. Reducing those as "cowardice" does you no service as they neither will endear the other party and even obfuscates your failings which put you in the current predicament. Ultimately, I find the whole moralistic undertone to be empty and ultimately betrayed by said pragmatic needs, because said idealism invariably requires compromises to be made, and these compromises affect pragmatic considerations, which in this particular case were given clear precedence.

  25. Respect to Rose over this one. Takes some serious FA skill to manipulate a whole other bloc into enacting your own revenge. o7 Rose

  26. Disclaimers: This is a shitpost. This is not an endorsement of Sans, but it is an endorsement of Zed. This is a proper example of a t$ post format for official notices, for certain people like W and darkblade who need a lesson in how to Git Gud. The key line here is the Company Profile, which states the following. SYNDICATE, Inc., based near Nassau, The Bahamas, is the world's leading gasoline, aluminum and munitions distributor for a wide variety of peacekeeping and humanitarian activities. Wholly-owned SYNDICATE, Inc. subsidiary brands include the Coalition, a patent and intellectual property office most famous for protecting their abbreviation tC, and Charming Friends, which provides “labor relations services” for companies and people across the world. For more information about SYNDICATE, Inc., and its activities, contact Hilmes, Director of Strategic Planning. Now I could not be bothered that much to find the post where Charming Friends became a part of t$, but I can show you this. Charming Friends working with t$? How is such a union possible? Now sure, this is just another example of a movement becoming a business which becomes a grift/racket (run by like, I dunno, a Syndicate?), but t$ has some very friendly and ethical policies towards labor and workers, and is not at all cold heartless evil neoliberal beings*. [spoiler]Except Pablo, who likes Hillary Clinton for some reason.[/spoiler] EDIT: I must apologize. I have been too unkind to some of our government, because we do unironically have some Reagan/Thatcher supporters in government too. The record must be corrected to show this, and not be totally unfair to my dear amigo Pablito.

  33. "The Dixie flag" that most people wave around is Lee's battle flag, not the flag of the Confederacy, and only came into popular use during the civil rights movement by avowed segregationists and the KKK themselves. The Confederate traitors killed half a million Americans so I fail to see why any patriotic American website would ever consider hosting that content anyways.

  34. I disagree. I very intentionally set it to be only +10 ranks because I believe that in a persistent game such as P&W, it's essentially a game of king of the hill. If one person (or alliance) gets to sit on top and punch down at anyone getting close to them, it then becomes difficult to unseat them. That leads to very stale gameplay and ultimately stagnation. Giving smaller nations the potential to take down big nations is really important for the longevity of the game.

  35. How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man? Cooper has admitted that it'd take two spheres to take down GG. In Duck Hunt alone, GG barely sustained damage despite the combined forces of Quack. When you get into dealing with these mega whales, you need all the coverage you can get. Maybe this war isn't about TKR? The entire world doesn't revolve around you. Perhaps the decision to ally someone tS had been claiming was a threat, someone who we had recently fought an unsuccessful war against recently had something to do with this? Or maybe it's the immediate war of aggression on the only other high-tier sphere? Though I do suppose casting oneself as the victim and opining that the whole world is out to get you is easier. I forgot that Duck Hunt was a dogpile! Silly me. Cooper doesn't think our spheres were evenly matched, I clearly remember him saying it would take two spheres to take y'all down. As for getting good, can I perhaps recommend your coalition to stop using naval attacks against us? I hear that's a pretty ineffective tactic. From what I hear, at least 3-4 of the Grumpy players who left didn't just get "bored". The upper-tier consolidation is definitely a large part of it, but in and of itself isn't sufficient, IMO. If we truly believed that GG's intentions were peaceful, then there wouldn't be a reason to go after them. However, SRD made his intentions clear, and thus we have war. Upper-tier consolidation ruined another game some of us played, so people actually having the cajones to combat it before it gets out of hand should be applauded, IMO.

  36. Controversial take but Error 522 is a boring name because this happens literally every war. In fact, the game should be named Politics & Error 522 because it's so predictable. So yeah, to whoever may be reading this, don't vote for generic names that can be used for every single war.

  37. The image displayed is from Antifaschistische Aktion, not the KPD. The fact that some people from the KPD started that organization does not make it the same organization as the KPD, obviously. There's nothing here that implies that anyone is a member of the KPD and suggesting that a symbol signifying opposition to fascism and the like is somehow indicative of supporting fascism or NSDAP is beyond ridiculous, just plain irrational nonsense probably rooted in you twisting things to suit your own erroneous beliefs.

  39. I definitely get not wanting to feel singled out but I don't think those type of rules exist because you're vulnerable and need protection like you're some damsel in distress so much as making it abundantly clear that spreading hate and targeting someone based on an attribute of themselves they can't change isn't acceptable. In that regard, I see it as a bit different than being an arse simply because you like to troll people or because you've taken a dislike to someone based on their actions. I get what you mean though, I just don't see the harm in clarity since people like to push boundaries.

  40. Pretty good, I like it so far, I don't think we need a static comprehensive set of guidelines for every circumstance out there, but I think it's a lot better than the way things were for years. There's a couple of things I like to address, personally I think punishment for predatory behavior should never expire, I don't think that needs much explaining. The second thing is that we kinda need light shed on transphobia and homophobia, I think the severity of the punishment of such acts should be on par with sexism and racism but that's just me. There's a few transgendered and gay folk here who would probably appreciate knowing they're protected, it may even welcome new players. I know we all have differing opinions on the matter and I respect that, but they're people too and there are indeed serious issues surrounding that sort of thing.

  43. A got a list, here's the order of my list that it's in. It goes threats, upper tier consolidation and hegemonic tendencies, ghosting from KT, militarizing, posturing, aggression, and then SRD. Was it not Hollywood that actively planned and participated in a dogpile against Rose? Had it not been for the intervention of Oasis/Mys, it was a pretty clear dogpile. You can't plan a dogpile on one hand and then cry about a "dogpile" on your bloc. I love how y'all are forming a narrative like we coerced Rose to join this war. That I was in Vexz DM's begging for them to fight with us. The truth is simpler than that, y'all made Rose your enemy, they willingly joined us as equal partners in this war.
