  1. Don't know why no one made one till now. So I'm making one. @Oasis @KT I'll start off with this:

  2. The King in the North Falls into The Abyss As the King in the North was getting some fresh air riding aimlessly around his kingdom (to get away from the pressure of the constant daily coup attempts) he noticed a small glowing spot on a large stone he had never seen before. He slowly approached it and reached his hand out towards it to touch it. He was immediately pulled through the hole and into a place of endless darkness. Feeling disoriented and confused he stumbled around the darkness for what felt like an eternity. Finally out of nowhere Starfuze walked up behind him and startled him asking who dares enter The Abyss. The King asked a lot of questions about where he was and what happened. Starfuze and the King quickly became friends and Starfuze showed him how to get back home to Winterfell. Upon the king’s return he shared with his small council that House Stark will now be protecting his new friends he had made in The Abyss. TLDR; House Stark signs The Abyss as a Protectorate.

  5. Hey @Prefontaine. I'm a bit confused by your logic. 92 people voted for no change, but since it was a 'close' vote, you opted to go with the minority and change it to the most voted for change anyway? Why? Do I not know how to math correctly or does it feel like, ya just wanted to do it anyway. Further more, if you're going to decrease the effectiveness of a specific project even for a 'short period of time and then reassess', where is the change in cost to it? Or we just have to spend the same thing on a now shit project that is more or less a waste of a project slot? I guess what I'm really asking is, What the !@#$ are you doing and why do you insist on doing things that make it feel like it was just a show to say you took the community's opinion on the matter just to do what you wanted anyway?

  8. A small, easy, and useful quality of life improvement: Allow for bounties to be filtered by type (attrition, raid, or nuclear) and by amount ($1,000,000, $1,000,000+ $10,000,0000+, and $100,000,000+). A lot of bounties are $1,000,000 and just take up space. Being able to filter those would be useful.

  11. --- A KT member taunts a large army of Oasis members from a hill: "You spineless dogs, send over a ten of your best warriors to fight me!" Ten people from across TI, TFP, Aurora, UPN, and SoL go over the hill with the Templar, there are sounds of fighting, screaming, bones breaking, then quiet. A few minutes later the lone Templar emerges again, and taunts the Oasis members: "You bunch of filthy bastards, send over a hundred of your best warriors to fight me!" A hundred people from across TI, TFP, Aurora, UPN, and SoL go over the hill, there are sounds of fighting, then quiet. Soon enough the Templar comes out once again, and taunts the assembly of Oasis members: "You pathetic weaklings, send over a thousand of your best warriors to fight me!" Just as the rest of Oasis are once again preparing to go and fight the Templar, one of their comrades - a TI member - crawls up the hill, beaten to a pulp, but still alive and says: "Watch out, guys, it's a trap! There's two of them!"

  12. I don't see why it's such a problem for people to do more damage when they get dogpiled. If all this does is incentivize pixel-huggers to think more carefully about how not-so-easy their planned 3 vs 1 is, then it's doing the right job. If you win or lose, war isn't supposed to be painless. There's a large difference between "loser weapons" and wanting to hide scot-free at 8k score with full military and 3k infrastructure. You can rebuild like everybody else... Mechanics should be there to make wars interesting for all combatants, and they should allow everyone to make some ground if they're willing to fight for it. With all of the other changes making it easier to attrition a weaker opponent, this is among the mildest of tweaks that could've been made for a nation losing bc of out-tiering or dogpiling. Also, afaik Yarr/Pre are among the people who tend to hide at high scores, so this doesn't make sense that he's doing this from a personal motivation. The attacks I've seen seem to be in pretty bad faith. Frankly, I thought pre's personal interests would've resulted in him scrapping the results because of how close it was. I'm glad he went with the majority view.

  13. Just over a year ago Mad Max, Tiberius and I began discussions about what came to be Atlas Technologies! Atlas Technologies is a technology firm that we started to bring multiple developers, technologies, and investors together. Our initial investors Chara and Tomogachi joined us on our journey to develop a company that would invest in the future. During our time in PnW we have invested in over 80 nations with over 40 currently in our company. We have invested over $5B in our nations, incalculable amounts of time and more. I want to thank @Han Solo specifically for the time investment. He has spent hours developing relevant training material, time training easy and difficult members and programs. I’m not much for words, but I do want to say thank you to a few specific people as well. @Mad Max: For believing in this vision and convincing Tiberius and I to take the leap. Tiberius and Chara: For filling in positions you didn’t want but doing them for the good of the alliance until we found replacements. Eloco: For taking us through our first global and stepping into chairmanship while I am away. @Tali: For being the best FA head we could hope for, advice giver and friend. @NightKnight and @darkbladechan: For developing the bots we use to protect and educate our members. Shout out to Colossus and Veritas. @Aero: For being our connection to Camelot at the time, getting us the protectorate and introducing us to Roselot. To the rest of our staff thank you so much for choosing us! Thanks for investing in your fellow staff, cannot wait to celebrate year two with you! Thank you for attending the annual investors meeting of Atlas Technologies if you have questions comments or concerns: I'm headed out to the lake and I'll be gone all weekend long But I'll call you back when I get home on Sunday afternoon And P.S. if this is Parched_ I still love you Jordan Chairman tldr: Atlas Technologies turned one year old today.

  18. The Trial of Taith Last week was the first cancelled show in over a year, so this Friday's episode will have extra content in it. However, on top of that, I will also be hosting The Trial of Taith. I don't really know what the specifics are with Taith and so I decided that instead of having Arctic explain it to me, I will learn about it through a trial. I will be the Judge, and Arctic will be lead prosecutor. I am looking for an assistant prosecutor, a lead defense, and an assistant defense. I am also looking for jurors (5 total). If you wish to volunteer for any of these positions (or know someone who does), private message me on Discord. The Trial of Taith will occur at 10 PM, with the actual episode of Thalmor Radio happening at 9 PM EST like usual. I have 8 topics to go over so it should be a decent show and I'm pretty sure I can stretch things out an hour. Tune in this Friday to Thalmor Radio for entertainment and justice! 20. I'll keep this short and sweet. Knights Templar had a member continue to attack Oasis members, their government was asked to peace the wars or boot the member. Last time this member hit us they countered our counters. This was not an isolated incident. The KT gov instead stands by the actions of this member to raid us continually and is in violation of the NAP. Oasis has sent a military response towards KT and recognizes their hostilities towards us.

  22. Imagine investing in an Orbis bank by buying shares. How many times will people need to be bitten before they realize it’s a bad idea? On the flip side, imagine being bested and absolutely demolished by Arctic. Oof. This whole situation is just all kinds of awful.

  25. Only the greatest and durable friendships start with a NAP. You know you have a relationship of true worth when it can be described in terms of standardized legal non-binding commitments toward each other. Erudite folk might point to !@#$ Germany and the USSRs NAP in the late 1930’s, but I think most people know in their heart of hearts that the real reason that relationship did not work out was because each party felt too much raw, animal passion for the other. Some historians say that both Hitler and Stalin felt jilted by the other, not in Germany’s eventual abrogation of the treaty, but ironically at the moment of signing. They both wanted more from each other, and both settled for a NAP; both were frustrated and jealous of the arrangement. You see, USSR had a ‘special friend’ in the east, and would not give them up for the Nazis - and the latter could not be convinced even when Stalin sacrificed his military leadership and few ethnic groups in a sort romantic gesture of sacrifice and commitment to his jealous companion. In a fit of jealous rage, Hitler attacked his sweetheart wanting Stalin’s huge tracts of land all to himself, when what he really might have wanted was an ODP. Ironically, so might have Stalin. A successful NAP rests on an even tempered assessment of the other party, a focus on interests over positions, and a genuine curiosity about the other party. It is a commitment to patience, to evolution, to watching Slow TV together at some point and being content whether it happens again or not. A NAP shows that each party antes the goodwill to see where the relationship takes them, opens themselves to the potential to be hurt, and seeks to grow through the dance that is life. It is the romantic’s favourite place to be - full of hope and wonder at the possibilities and positions that lie ahead, and the tender game of manifesting such visions. Thank you for not berating the romantic who bandies such trifles as NAPs with more worth than many friends and allies do with more ‘serious’ tokens of trust and love. Cynicism may be more reliable in the long run, but even it must yield to the preservation of what it is not, if only in the forlorn hope of salvation. It is good to know we are not alone.

  27. I don't think you understand what a closed poll is. A closed poll is one in which it is no longer possible to vote. This, was not the case. The poll results were called even though the polls themselves were not actually closed, as evidence by the votes cast after the calling. "Oh but that's a simple mistake!" You say. If that's the case, then, why pray tell, did he screencap the results at the time as opposed to just, stopping the poll? Even if we didn't have this blatant pre meditated forward thinking of it, hilarious incompetence is not an excuse either. Nor is the forum software so complex that ending a poll just couldn't be figured out. "Oh!" You say "But Akuryo, mayhaps he set the poll to close at a specific date and the software didn't allow closing before then! Hah!" So, then, he explicitly and knowingly committed fraud, calling by his own admission a very close vote before a predetermined close date he couldn't change, and shocker, by the time that date came, the results had swung the other way again. So your best defense and best case scenario here is "gross and hilarious incompetence" vs "blatant and literal fraud". In either event I must ask you why then you insist upon entertaining and promoting the antics of an appointed stooge with no accountability who either failed the simple task of running a basic forum poll somehow, or who mask-off stole it for the side he wanted when he had the chance. Sure it ends in your favor now but basic logic dictates, much like this poll, that the pendulum will swing back. Also interesting as usual to see who doesn't actually care about a democratic process as long as whatever results favored them though. Certainly has made the world a better place outside, I'm sure it'll help here too!

  28. Huh. Alright, sorry for that then. My other point stands however. The Iron Dome is now a waste of a project slot at 30% when its better spent on an economic or other war project. Why would I waste a project slot on a 30% chance of stopping an attack that will destroy what, 300-500 infra and maybe an improvement? And why did this end up being the deciding vote on implementing this? If this was going to actually change a game mechanic why wasn't that made clear when voting? Everyone that voted for no change is automatically excluded from getting to vote on what they think the change should be? If it's going to change, I don't think it should be change to 30% but I didn't get to say what I think because I voted no change.

  32. You'd be absolutely shocked at how many people I've argued with, at varying levels of alliance leadership / dev team involvement / admin involvement, who think the exact opposite. Somehow quite a few people have talked themselves into the circular logic that if complete destruction of a player isn't possible then we'll always have permawar and everyone will quit anyway... Nevermind the people who will quit from being sat on for months or all cities destroyed. It's scary. Agreed.

  35. So your original raid wasn't a NAP violation but one late counter is? Nice logic. And if we'd tried to cycle the guy you'd count each of them as a new war and counter each of them and he'd keep coming back for more - he did come back for more, so here we are. We even offered to just peace all those previous wars and walk away but you wanted "a training exercise" for your members. You purposely refused to try to peace the raids today and tried to justify that you can attack any of our members if you deem them appropriate to do so. You wanted this war.
