  1. A small, easy, and useful quality of life improvement: Allow for bounties to be filtered by type (attrition, raid, or nuclear) and by amount ($1,000,000, $1,000,000+ $10,000,0000+, and $100,000,000+). A lot of bounties are $1,000,000 and just take up space. Being able to filter those would be useful.

  2. As many of you may know, I have recently left the Taith Group due to the undeniable evidence of the nature of their fraud. This is NOT the official post I promised yet. I have instead created this post to compile a list of those scammed directly or indirectly by Greene/Taith aka Grealind. The true nature of this fraud is shocking, and to start off I will state figures which I have independently found. Scamming may consist of his activites at Taith, his activities at the 4 banks which went under during the Grealind times, or other occurrences outside of those 2 listed. Assets listed at the banks after the main scam took place will also be featured as the victims lost money directly due to HIS actions. I hope others can also contribute... Boyce the Great- $3 Billion via Gringotts Bank Morte- $2 Billion Paul Walberg- $5 Billion Rose/Redarmy- $8 Billion Inconnu- $8 Billion via Gringotts Bank Ripper- $12 Billion via Gringotts Bank

  4. This looks like a good middle ground. Seriously tho. 50% was a ridiculously high value. Btw can we get an update on the other changes that were proposed for the game development as well?

  5. Wtf it worked bruh @Bradley Can I coup your alliance please so I can brag about how successful I was in doing that pls ;3 ty People usually like... in an argument they choose the winning side to get upvotes... so whenever Alex is getting dunked on I should always dunk on him so I get these juicy upvotes. Is that Albert Einstein? Bruh is he drunk... HOW DID YOU GET UPVOTES FROM THAT wtf this is witchcraft So basically ChangeUp was never meant to be? Got it... and 31 upvotes!?!? goddamn fam could you share man I think you got too much to hold on your back and I should start posting top quality memes whenever NPO posts again. I am not that great when it comes to posting quality stuff... if I am lucky I would probably think of something genius that gets me upvotes. True but man... like do you know how many friends I would get? I would get so many friends fam! Got it... time to spam memes around Orbis and shit on Valkorion Baratheon Actually no I would get killed... I am already getting shat on by posting threads about useless things. 👍. I think that's the best choice tbh... The forums is not really worth it. Trueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee but once in awhile you just wanna achieve something then regret it at the end.

  7. How about just having 4 bounty options in total? And each time a bounty is placed, it just adds on top of the existing bounties So instead of having 100 1m Attrition Bounties, you have 1 100m Attrition bounty.

  9. Greetings, friends. Some of you might not know me. Thankfully that means this thread won't impact you, you inactive husk. The rest of you are probably about done mourning my retirement. I thank you for your loyal devotion. Not every icon has the pleasure of interacting on the daily with a fanbase as dedicated as you have been. Where was I? A friend from a less politically active alliance remarked to me the other day that he would tune in to a radio show built around Partisas political hot takes. It got me thinking. About the political ambivalence of 3/4th of the orbis player base which forms the foundation for the inertia of the leadership they fail to oust for their inability or unwillingness to do anything meaningful or fun with the power they accumulate. Underneath that personified stagnation lies a complicated web of personal motivators of the human psyche; the little tids and bits that drive us to do what we do, and feel what we feel. And among those tidbits must be a tiny, rough little diamond that radiates ambition and a genuine interest for the machinations of this world. That diamond can not be pushed to the surface for one reason or another. And so it seems, friends, that it rests on me, your ero, to mine your diamond. If my inactive compatriot can ignite himself by merely focusing on my voice and thoughts; if he can drop the crutches of blind obedience and walk again, an independent minded man, by gravitating toward my humble charisma- a beacon as it were, then surely, so can others. Yet a radio show may not be the answers. For I am lazy and refuse bind myself to times or dates. Instead, I will prepare my musings for this forum- my living room. These musings will dig into political occurrences of the distant and more recent past. To the days of Impero and the fall of Saru. To Prefontaine and baby-roq. To mensan menace, to when the meta was undiscovered and cave-government fiddled with nukes and navies, and many more an occurrence. And as I open up my mind to you, you will receive insights into backrooms that you might not know existed. To conversations that were had, but were promptly buried. To strategic considerations you may never have known existed. Throughout all that, you will learn that I loathe most alliances. My opinions will hurt you. I will not care, and you will forgive me. For that is what this is for. Raw. Unbridled. Partisan. We may take it to radio if the masses demand it. Or we may not. For now, ta!

  11. So looking at the cities histogram, it seems like the vast overwhelming majority of existing nations create a nation and never log back in. So a few thoughts: 1. Nations are forced to apply to an alliance right after nation creation - they don't even go to their nation view page, the game auto-takes them to the alliance(s) screen and gives them a message something like: "Great! Now that you've created your nation, you'll need to jump into the political world of Orbis! Alliances will offer you military protection and financial assistance while you get your bearings. You should choose one from the list here to apply to as you take your first steps into the political community. Please note it's recommended that new players choose from the top 50 alliances when you're first starting out, you can always change your alliance later!" 2. Once they join or apply to an alliance the game sends them a message/notification to get on discord, something like: "Good work! With a solid alliance at your back, your nation will surely flourish in no time. Most alliances in this game are fairly involved and community-oriented. You should check your alliance page for their discord link so you can get to know them a little better. Politics and War also has an official discord server which is highly recommended for new players to join." 3. Upon completion of the tutorial, the player is automatically granted a "new player package" consisting of: 1k Uranium, 10k Food, 1k of each manufactured resource, $1m Cash, AND c2+c3+c4+c5 WITH 500 infra / 1000 Land in each city with each city receiving a nuclear power plant right off the bat. I believe if we give players an extremely solid foundation to begin with it will help player retention significantly. PnW gets people to the website regularly but fails to get them to come back. I would like to take a closer look at the overall tutorial and completely rework it to focus on getting into an alliance and giving the player a starting economy/military in a more streamlined process. If @Alex could provide the exact tutorial script, I'd be happy to look over it. I'm thinking literally a 3 step tutorial as a lot of the mechanical stuff can be taught directly from the alliances and potentially help us retain ADHD people who would otherwise not complete a double-digit step tutorial.

  13. Y'know, 'voting with your feet' is way too simple of a political argument to hold any water, since reciprocity and golden handcuffs are both things. It's easy enough to hold someone on a hook as long as they're not too miserable about it, which undermines if not invalidates the whole "you are totally allowed to leave whenever" train of logic.

  18. Like this: "I do not like you. Now, please do not misunderstand. I do not want to give offense, nor insult, nor intrude upon your personal bounds of comfort. I most certainly do not wish to imply that you are any less than the wonderful, smart, strong, capable human that you can choose to be. What I do want to do is simply to ensure that we are both cognizant of the fact that we are strangers to each other. We do not truly like each other. We do not truly hate each other. We both have our strengths, and our weaknessses. We both have our interests, we both have our cares, and each of those unique only to us. We do not have any objective interests in each other. We have literally never met. ...But I would like to see just who you could become, all the same." -scarfy, 2/17/2021

  20. CirtusK nailed it on the head. Post alliance announcements, memes, and dunk on people. My upvotes have come from all three, with memes and dunks being the biggest contributer. Also I've been doing this for years. It takes time. It didn't happen overnight. Aiya is also right though. Don't get hung up on internet points. It's not the best indicator of anything except that you post on the forums a lot.

  30. This exactly. This is the kind of balance thing that everyone has a vested interest in. I don't think we should get a say since the community will be divided based on what benefits them. Which is dumb, I think. People should be voting for what benefits the whole game. But I know that's an unrealistic expectation.

  31. A simple "hide embargoed offers" toggle would be great, actually. That would pretty easily solve phoenyx's problem without inhibiting people's ability to do dumb stuff for the memes.

  33. It's been suggested by @Sir Scarfalot I believe and it's been brought up a few times before that to have an escrow where you cant collect a bounty until after the blockade is over, but once it is over you can collect. Seems like a simple solution to make a broken mechanic meaningful. edit: I see Scarf has already responded

  34. Hello, Who here. I blundered into this game about 9 days ago and got kidnapped by an alliance that still won't tell me their name. They are good people though, so what's in a name? I am married with 2 kids (4 and 2 years old), and I have been playing browser/mmo games since around 2007. I also play PS4, as I type this introduction I am crawling through a Skyrim dungeon. I can see that there are years of history in this game. I would love to hear any stories you have of years past. The community is the best part of mmo games, and I look forward to joining the community.

  35. I'm guessing that Grave wanted to do the maximum infra damage and thus focused on hitting that instead of other targets. Regardless, your words got me thinking, could Oasis really be flagging? As a member of Oasis Bloc, I decided to see if there was a KT nation that wasn't beiged or fully slotted in close range to my own and join in the fight. Found nothing. So I decided to check all the way up to the maximum that I could hit- all slotted as well. So guessing you're just being your usual humorous self :-p.

  37. I'm personally always wishy-washy on NAPs. I hate long ones, but shorter ones (3mos or less) are fine imo. I'd be hypocritical though considering I pretty much heavily emphasized for a long one after that stupidity with NPO and Friends. The only real reason why I did so was to allow players and alliances to readjust to things and figure out what they wanted to do moving on. Plus there was just way too much damage done in all areas of the game. And as a side note, there were some actual game changes coming up that I was hoping would improve the game once the NAP ended.

  39. I agree wholeheartedly with this. I think you're putting far too much simple thought into the whole "voting with your feet". It's not necessarily telling players to leave if they don't like it, it's moreso players will leave on their own if they don't like the direction the alliance is going. But there's far more complexities here. @Prefonteen is simply pointing out that "voting with your feet" is the final decision of a player. There's many other options out there, but what keeps things in check for alliances is simply that statement. When all other options fails, people will leave and leadership can crumble from a severe player migration. There was a show I did that talked a bit on this, where leaders needed to reach out and listen to their members, otherwise they'll simply leave and find a home elsewhere. Simply put, democracies and leadership growth happen one way or another. There's no penalty for players to leave their alliances and join others, unlike in real life where it can potentially be a life or death situation.
